She’s beautiful, perfect, and most importantly, she’s mine.
She just doesn’t know it yet.

But we’re forced to work on the town’s charity calendar, and we end up roommates.
Unable to escape each other.
I try to resist him.
To forget the way he makes me feel when I’m pressed against his hard body.
But I’m losing the fight.
And when he kisses me?
I know I’m screwed.
My only solace is that it will only be for a couple of days.
But Preston…
Let’s just say he has other plans for me.
Preston
Working with Search & Rescue is everything to me.
My job is all I need.
Or so I thought until my life exploded when I save a sassy bartender.
Nina’s first language is sarcasm.
And her curves…her curves leave me entranced.
She needs me.
To save her, hold her, protect her.
Even if she refuses to admit it.
But in this small town, I always get what I want.
And a calendar for charity gives me the perfect opportunity to win Nina’s heart.
12 Heroes, one small town, and a charity calendar that will give them each a chance at love.
This is just the beginning…more
When I first started reading the book, I thought this is going to be one heck of a read. You have a strong, sexy man who saves people and you have a young, sexy woman who is independent and fierce. What a mix those would be, right?? To me, the book fell a little flat unfortunately. I was hoping for more chemistry that’s what the story gave us. Now having said that, just because I didn’t connect with this book doesn’t mean that you won’t. Please read all of the reviews as well as the authors synopsis to see if this book is the one for you.
A hot, sizzling, easy read from Piper Sullivan. The characters are well drawn, and the chemistry between them is clear to see.
Lots of bedroom scenes not much else. Sad too cause it started off promising. Her character started out bad ass and he was sweet yet strong. And the kind of those that when they meet. And the conflict was pitiful. But it does end on a HEA.
Nina just moved to Tulip, Texas from the St. Louis area. She stands out in Tulip, but loves the small town. She is the bartender and tries to stay under the radar, even with tattoos, piercings and a sassy attitude!! But you are asked to help out the Tulip Troops, she has to go, she is a softy. But when things happen and she gets noticed and rescued by the “Golden Boy”, will she accept help from him?
Preston is on duty when he gets the call about the Tulip Troops, he rushes over to save a trooper and Nina from the flood waters, but when her ankle is broken and needs a boot, but can’t get around on her own, of course, he takes her to his house to recuperate. But when the town talks and Preston realizes he wants more of Nina in more ways, will they accept this? Can he convince Nina that his love is real? Or will his mother get involved and stop everything?
This is cute story of opposites attracting in the best ways possible!! It has some drama, a stubborn wonderful woman and an equally stubborn man that make it look easy!! This is a great way to introduce us to Tulip and the Hometown Heroes and that wonderful calendar!!! I received an ARC of this book from the author.
I thought Preston and Nina had great chemistry and were a lot of fun together. I really liked the fact that Preston never caved to his mother’s wishes, and Nina stood up to her. They lived in a town with the name of Tulip, of all things. I did like that Nina was tatted, sassy, and independent.
I thought the characters were well written an interesting. I feel as though we haven’t seen the end of Preston and Nina, even if they did get their HEA in this book.
I am also hoping Ry, Janey, Max, and Antonio get their own books. A fast paced, steamy, romantic read.
I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
Preston and Nina come from completely different social backgrounds. Preston if from a wealthy family and has lived in Tullip nearly his whole life. Nina is an orphan who has always had to look out for herself, she is strong and fiercely independent. However when these two get thrust together they cannot deny the chemistry. Their story is passionate and steamy and full of wit and sass. Their friends are all great characters as well and I would love to read more of their stories.
I loved this story and had a lot of fun with the characters.
Nina is a bartender and when she helps rescue a child and hurts herself, Preston quickly volunteers to help her as well.
They begin to share Preston’s house and the attraction between them is immediate, but are they willing to invest in the feelings that arise?
I kept expecting Preston’s mom to come out and spoil everything, and what wasn’t my surprise when she almost got what she wanted.
I loved the main characters and the secondary characters as well. I’m anxious to read more about the residents of this small town and the calendar.
I recommend the reading.
