Why did I become her worst enemy? Once upon a time Meghan was my soul mate. My best friend. My secret crush. Until one drunken night, when we gave in to our emotions. That night I realized she loved me too. But the love quickly turned into hate. She accused me of taking advantage of her. She called me names. She said I repelled her. And she made it very clear that she wanted to have nothing to … that she wanted to have nothing to do with me any longer. Hard at the time, but I respected her wishes and drifted away.
Years have passed. I now run a multi-billion hedge fund. I receive prestigious awards for my work. I’m praised for my vision and genius – as ridiculous as it is. I can have all the fancy knick-knacks this world has to offer. But I’m missing something. Meghan.
Then I see her standing there. At the bar, in a glamorous red dress that accentuates her every curve. Did she always look so gorgeous?
She smiles at me. She wants to reconcile. And we end up in the bed. Again.
Next morning, the hate is still present in her eyes. Multiplied by the years if anything. She blackmails me – either I fulfill her request or she will destroy me.
She can take all my billions. She can wreck my reputation. Whatever. But I will find out the secret behind her mysterious reappearance.
This is a steamy contemporary romance with a happily ever after, no cliffhanger, and no cheating.

3.5* I’m very torn by this book. There’s not much I love better than to see a second chance come together. But it’s so difficult to cheer for a second chance when you spend almost the entire book disliking the heroine. I adore Brandon. He’s sweet and loyal and he got the crappy end of the stick for most of this story. Meghan brought out all of my avenging Fury instincts, but none of them were on her behalf. I thought she spent way too much time jumping to conclusions and being selfish and bitter. If this were a longer book, I would really take issue with how quickly Brandon forgives her. I appreciated that the story shows them taking their time to rebuild the trust before achieving their happy ever after, though. I’m looking forward to seeing what happens with the rest of the Redwood siblings.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.
The ubiquitous text message creates mayhem once again!

This one was a really great story that caught me from the first chapter and never let go. Its main conflict, lack of communication, is a common element in second chance romances. Author Suzie Grace does an excellent job at building a moving story for Brandon and Meghan around a single misunderstanding provoked by a text message that tears them apart. An infuriated and betrayed Meghan is not a pretty sight! I thought the story was extremely well-written, something that I’ve come to expect from her romances. She also knows how to build a very romantic tale without overdoing the passionate clinches. The intimate scenes are heated but not too explicit, something I appreciate and prefer. The upbeat ending is no surprise and there’s just enough angst to make the course of true love rough enough for a make-up to be all the sweeter.
This story is a standalone, no cliffhanger, but it brings back the main characters from Saving Samantha for a few cameos and gives hints that the hero’s remaining unattached siblings will get their own happy endings in some future work. I can’t wait to see what Grace has in store for Aiden and Georgia!
I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.
Sometimes my review may be a little cryptic because I don’t want to give away anything. In my opinion this was a fun roller coaster ride. In my opinion Brandon could be a little wimpy. He want love so bad he was willing to look past the excuses Meghan gave. In my opinion he should have made Meghan work a little harder for it. I loved how Brandon was willing to step up. This is a story full of secrets, misunderstandings and a love that never died. I liked Meghan’s independence and the fight to do things on her own. I didn’t like how she went about trying to take care of things. Overall I liked this book I just wanted Brandon to be a little stronger, but when the chips were down he came through. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced readers copy.
