Decent book
A hook to buy the seriesw
I was really enjoying this book. It was creative and well written. The characters were very interesting. However, it was written in such a way that the ending was not there. Kind of a bait and switch to get you to buy the next book. Still wondering if I want to buy into it
I enjoyed the storyline, but dislike leaving with a to be continued, unfinished book. I dislike feeling like the author is purposely doing a half finished book so you will always have to buy yet 1 more book forever. Sort of like falling for a scam.
Hard time getting into all the characters, but enjoyable. I think I figured out the insider before the ending. Left me wanting more.
I didn’t care for how it ended. I was looking for more closure even though I think I figured it out anyway. I did like the characters and story.
The book does not close the case and leaves the story hanging. You have to buy the next book to learn who did the crime. Frustrating!
Book ended without the story ending
I do not recommend. The characters aren’t interesting enough to continue the series.
It was okay. However, I felt often as if I were dropped halfway into a sequel and then it ended precipitously without a satisfying ending. And the next one will probably do the same, as there is still another.
I liked the book
Too much foul language, I hated the ending, did not give any closure to the book at all.
Enjoyable to read, but it ended with questions still unanswered.
There is a great deal to be enjoyed about this book: it was well written with interesting characters and events, and the author seemed to take a strong interest in making it true to life for the police procedural details. The only let-down, and it was a major let-down, is that it ended with a cliff-hanger. Ending with a cliff-hanger in itself isn’t necessarily a problem, in fact there are good cliff hangers, but in this case there was so much left unresolved that it felt like I’d purchased a book and found the last several chapters torn out. A very unsatisfactory ending for a book that started off and continued strong until there was just air. If not for that, I’d have given this book a much higher rating.
This is not a book a book has a beginning and an ending…this does not
I have been a fan of Jamie Lee Scott for a long time, but this book blew me away! Multi-dimensional characters surround veteran police officer Kate Darby. A late shift chase leads to a body in the trunk of a car and Kate’s first murder investigation, a complex mess involving murder, drugs, and corruption. Twist, turns, lies and personalities make the trail to reveal those involved.
Kate’s private life is a bit unusual at the moment too. Her only family is a foster brother with whom she is close and her sergeant who is also her ex-husband, both men that she loves with all her heart. For the first time in her life, a surprise turns out to be something good, probably; she discovers that she has inherited property from a grandfather she didn’t know existed.
