Book 3 in the series is another brilliant installment in Ruby’s story. Without giving away any spoilers, there are so many riveting twists that will have the reader at the edge of their seat!
The ultimate ending to the main conflict! I was on the edge of my seat the whole time I was reading this book (which was not very long)! I flew through this book and was happy with the way everything turned out! Major secrets that have carried through the whole series are revealed!
WOW this author did it again. Book 3 did not disappoint it continued to develop the characters that you will either grow to love or hate. It has you cheering on some of them and wanting to spoil the plans of others in this book. I felt like these characters were going through real struggles and dilemmas that others can relate to in their lives. I will continue to read more books from this author because she kept me so engaged in this trilogy and left me wanting more from her. Hope you have enjoyed this series as much as I did.
I enjoyed this conclusion to the Sins of Our Ancestors trilogy. This is a post-apocalyptic with teen romance thrown in, so if you like that sort of thing you will probably like this series. There were a few little things that niggled at me, like the over protective nature of the love interest, but he never went so far with it that he didn’t respect Ruby’s wishes so I could over look that. In general I liked him.
There were some repetitive things that happened in the series as a whole. There is a lot of traveling from place to place, and I kind of felt like it got a little old after a while. And Ruby and her friends tended to get captured a lot, which I thought happened a little too often. Mostly though I liked this book and the series overall was good, and I liked that not everything was wrapped up too neatly in the end. There were a couple of deaths that made me sad but needed to happen to balance things out.
Something I liked about this series is the way the author describes the scientific research for creating the virus and finding the cure. I’ll admit I am not a scientist and never did that well in science in school, but the way it was written made it feel somewhat plausible to me instead of just coming out of nowhere.
This series was a quick, fun read and I’m looking forward to reading more from this author.
What an incredible ending! Loved the whole series! Very unexpected and kept me at the edge of my seat! Hope to read more of this story one day!
What a satisfying way to end this series! Even though I knew where the story would ultimately have to go, there were several surprises thrown in there to keep me guessing.
I love Ruby’s growth throughout the series as she discovers that her ‘weaknesses’ are exactly what people need to have more of if the world plans to survive for another generation. Not only does Ruby get to come into her own, she also gets to discover so much more about her life from Before.
Once again, I stayed up way too late to keep reading until I finished this book. Written from the perspective of a 17-year-old, this series is perfect for the young and the ‘young-at-heart.’ I highly recommend this series to lovers of adventure, post-apocalyptic, or just a great story.

MY TAKE
An action-packed conclusion to a compelling series. Full of twist and turns and some seriously messed up family connections, the bittersweet tale manages to be positive with a strong stress on “family” that goes beyond blood ties.
4 1/2 stars
