THE MARQUESS HOUSE TRILOGY SERIES
BOOK ONE: The Catherine Howard Conspiracy
BOOK TWO: The Elizabeth Tudor Conspiracy
BOOK THREE: COMING SOONmore
The Catherine Howard Conspiracy by Alexandra Walsh is a dual time Historical Mystery, 1540 to 2018 with twists. If you are a fan of English History, Tudors, Alison Weir, Philippa Gregory, Tracy Borman and other great historical authors this is a book for you. There are historical what if’s, constant plots, fears, thrills and mysteries that keep the reader on edge. I immediately purchased this book and can’t wait to read the next book in this series. I have a new favorite author and series.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Netgalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. I appreciate the opportunity and thank the author and publisher for allowing me to read, enjoy and review this book.
The series is filled with mystery, history, and intrigue! What if the history we know isn’t what actually happened? Walsh’s ability to weave fact and fiction is absolutely brilliant.
Much better than I thought it would be.
There are three books in this series- I highly recommend all three. Read them in order if you can, but they do stand alone. The author takes us from the present to the past with a good cast of present time characters and builds some historical anomalies based on real possibilities that boggle the mind, are totally believable, and leave you wanting more. First book is on Catherine Howard, it directly connects to the second, the Elizabeth Tudor Conspiracy, which leads to the third, the Arabella Stuart Conspiracy. If you love the Tudors, you will adore these.
A fan of the Tudor and Plantagenet periods in English history, I loved this until about 70% in — when the MI1 is brought in to the plot. That was a bit far reaching for me.
The story doesn’t entirely end, because the author wants you to pick up the second volume. Some questions remain. Minus one star for forcing me to purchase a second volume (which I have done).
This book grabbed me from the start! It had two story lines and each one was interesting and good. I couldn’t put this down! I loved it!!! Great story!!
Thank you Sapere for the early read
Fascinating Mystery.
A fictional alternate story about the life and death of Catherine Howard. The book goes back and forth between the C16th and the present day, both time periods being compulsive reads. On the one hand we have Court intrigues, brutality, strong friendships and a King with violent mood swings; and on the other murder, conspiracy, suspense and the unfolding of long held secrets. A recommended read.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Twist on Tudor history. The book occurs in Tudor times and Modern times. Lots of twists and turns as Perdity and Piper discover secrets about their grandmother, father and mother. Life is not what it seems. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and can’t wait for the sequel.
I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from the publisher and am voluntarily reviewing it.
