HunterRules are meant to be broken. Except for one–Women can’t get enough peonies. Even the girl in front of me in line is admiring the peonies in my hand. While I need these particular flowers for my latest plot, I’ll still give Meghan the biggest, thickest bouquet I can find. It’s flattering how much she wants my peonies–And I don’t mind personally delivering.MeghanI love rules. They make life … flattering how much she wants my peonies–
And I don’t mind personally delivering.
Meghan
I love rules. They make life simple.
One rule I have for my future boyfriend? Fresh flowers every week.
The hot guy behind me in line had a gorgeous bouquet. He was perfect boyfriend material…
Until Mr. Perfect broke the unwritten rule of New York City lunch hour and found a devious way to cut the line.
He took my spot, making me late for a meeting, and then had the audacity to hand me his peonies as he waltzed out with what should have been my sandwich!
A wink and flowers from a handsome guy won’t fix my disaster of a life.
My career as a lawyer is failing before it even started.
I live in a tiny, crumbling apartment.
I have to deal with my obnoxious supervisor who seems intent on taking Hunter’s peonies for herself
Except that his peonies (and other flowers) are mine.
They were delivered to my desk at work!
Bouquet aside, Hunter breaks all my rules. I know I should ignore him. I know it’s going to be an epic disaster.
But when he shows up at my door shirtless, with another excessive bouquet, well, I have to say screw the rules; I want his peonies and the rest of him too!

Until next time… Happy Reading!
I liked this story a lot. It was entertaining and enjoyable with a few exceptions. The characters were interesting and likable for the most part. Meg and Hunter were absolutely perfect for each other. Unfortunately, they both had some issues to deal with. Hunter was doing something shady to help his family but it involved another woman which was a big deal for Meg. Meg had every right to be upset with Hunter. I wanted them to sit down and talk it out but that didn’t happen. As much as I loved Hunter and Meg together, I felt that they needed to move on if they weren’t going to hash it out. This was an amazing introduction to Meg and Hunter as well as some of the rest of the Svensson’s. I recommend reading this book. Or listening to the audiobook. The narrators did a wonderful job of bringing the characters to life. The male narrator can read to me anytime! Hubba hubba!
The book is good, it’s a pity it does not finish. I wish I had known, I wouldn’t have read it. I do not recommend books like this
He loved his peonies and he knows women love them too. There is one woman he wants and he will send them to her to break through all her walls. She has rules and he breaks them all so she wants nothing to do with him until he kept being her the flowers. Will she give in? See if she will

Meghan is in line to get a sandwich and the guy behind her is hold some beautiful Peonies. When she hears him call in his order, she is flabbergasted and not thrilled since he got the last one they could make since they ran out of ingredients. He’s thinking it is funny since he bucked the system and found a way around waiting in line. Now Meghan has to settle for a green kale smoothie which ends up being spilled on her as she heads back to work. She is an intern (even though she is a lawyer) trying to make it permanent in the office since jobs are scarce. Her boss, Karen is a hideous woman who keeps trying to sabotage her and doesn’t give her the information she needs to complete her duties. When they go to meet with a big client, she sees the sandwich stealer in the conference. He is with the other plaintiff who is filing for divorce from their client Walter. Hunter (sandwich stealer) is pleased to have run into Meg again. He was interested in her and couldn’t get her out of his head. Yet he has to play it cool since he is helping out his brother’s who are handling the woman’s divorce. After the meeting Meg runs and hides in a storage closet. Thinking she can be alone and cry over what a terrible day it has already been, in walks Hunter trying to find a place to eat his sandwich. Sparks fly between these two with hilarious interactions and banter. As these two start to get together, Hunter has ulterior motives. This ends in a cliffhanger so I am anxiously awaiting the next book. This was a very long prequel (which I thoroughly enjoyed) and I look forward to reading more in this series. If this author has a book for all the brothers (and I lost count of how many there actually were), then this author is set for life!

Damn – a cliffhanger. This story is about Meghan and Hunter. She is a fully qualified lawyer but is working as an intern at a terrible company. Hunter is the eldest of a lot of brothers – mostly half-brothers. They were all raised in a cult but now Hunter has to look after them all – and there is a LOT. Loved this story but dang and blast it with the cliffhanger. I want the next book now!
This story has a little bit of everything: fun, cute romance, sex, steam and conflict with colourful and dynamic characters.
This book finishes abruptly on a cliff hanger.

First off I love the prequel, the cliffhanger ending – not sure much so I am holding the author to her ‘pinkie promise – to make this right’. All that being said this was a great introduction to the Svensson brothers. I liked Meghan, the girl has her checklist for her man and what girl would not lie fresh flowers, not sure about weekly myself but for a just because works. Meghan is busting her butt as an intern for a law firm and is treated horribly. She is having the worst day when she goes out to gran a sandwich and crosses paths with Hunter while waiting in the worlds longest line. She smells fresh flowers, peonies to be exact but that the best moment of her day because after this, her day continues to fall apart. Hunter is a no rules guy and breaks any rule he comes across except for one, a girl needs flowers. Hunter is in the middle of his own whirlwind of life challenges. These two characters are just amazing but when they find themselves on opposing sides of the counsel table, this just becomes absolutely entertaining and intriguing.

A Strong Prequel
After his Peonies by author Alina Jacobs is a perfect prequel. It draws you in by introducing you to some unusual characters that all work well together. Then you become mesmerized with the storyline until you reach chapter thirty-three then BAM!
Definitely recommending this book for your reading enjoyment and pleasure. And, am looking forward to book one.
I am leaving this review for your consideration. Peace.
This was the first book that I have read by this author and I didn’t know what to expect when I started reading this book. However, I was so pleasantly surprised because this book was a total joy to read! The storyline was well written and the characters, Hunter and Meghan, were so very likable, believable, relatable and engaging which kept me totally glued to my kindle until the very last page was turned!
Meghan was waiting in line at the sandwich shop for her lunch. She had a very important meeting at the law firm and could not be late, so the slow line was very annoying. When she made associate at the firm, life would be so much better and she could afford to buy a new suit, and maybe get her hair done now and then. While she was imagining these things, she smelled peonies, her favorite flowers. Pretending to rummage in her purse, she glimpsed the man behind her who held the bouquet – he was perfect! He met every one of her criteria for the perfect boyfriend! From behind her, she heard him dial his phone. The sandwich guy stopped what he was slowly working on to answer the phone. Mr. Perfect then placed an order for her favorite prosciutto sandwich! The sandwich guy abandoned the one he was working on to make the take-out sandwich for Mr. Perfect! Noooo, that is against the rules! He can’t do that! She turned around to scold him, but he was amused and smug. They called his name and he went to get his sandwich! On the way out, he handed her two of his flowers. When it was her turn to order, they were all out of prosciutto – Mr. Perfect had gotten the last one!
Not having time to eat now, Meghan hurried back to the office. Her supervisor was already blaming her for not getting a custody document prepared which she had never been asked to do. Her phone rang and she dumped a smoothie all over her suit!
Hunter headed back to the Svensson & Svensson Law office, still smiling at how upset the brunette had gotten with him. He handed the flowers to Danielle, the soon-to-be-ex-wife of Walter Holbrook who had cheated Hunter and his half-brother out of their billion-dollar company. He had a plan to get the company back and needed her help. What he wanted was some information about pharmaceutical companies and potential interests Holbrook Enterprises was exploring. Danielle readily agreed. Then they left for the discovery meeting at Harrington-Thurlow.
Meghan’s supervisor made her prepare the document, then said it was horrible and would not be used. Meghan went to the ladies room to clean her smoothie-soaked blouse and associates gave her a hard time. So she ran into a hidden room no one knew about, took off her blouse, and then cried over her horrible day. Suddenly the door opened and a man ran inside – it was the sandwich thief, she could smell it! He asked if she was meeting a guy in there since it was a small room and she was half-dressed, and said he suspected she had a kinky side. She immediately stopped crying to snap at him, which was his goal to shock her out of her tears. He told her she should have gotten a sandwich like his and not that awful smoothie, which got her madder. She told him he took the last one, so he said he should have given her all of his peonies to make up for it if he had known. With his mispronunciation, she told him it was pronounced pee-OWN-ies, not PEE-nies (sounding very much like a male body part). When she finds out this annoying man is a member of opposing counsel, that may be the last straw for her!
This book was adorable! I couldn’t stop laughing at the continuous situations that played out between Meghan and Hunter! Throw in a little competition for Hunter’s affections from Meghan’s supervisor, and you can see the mayhem is not going to be stopping soon. Grab your copy and plunge into the fun as the organized, serious lady meets a guy who loves bending the rules!
