The utmost delight in life is the realization that we are loved..
As a mail-order bride, Hope finds herself married to an outlaw who leaves her stranded on the Oregon Trail at about the same time as Daniel’s wife dies of cholera. The wagon train master strongly urges them to join forces and marry. They plan to have the marriage of convenience annulled in Oregon, but a life and death situation … life and death situation reunites them before that happens.
Will Hope settle for less than Daniel’s whole heart? Can he let go of his grief and take a second chance at love?

Barbara Goss does it again! Hope is a story of exactly that! Hope! Hope becomes a mail order bride. She and her new outlaw groom become part of wagon train, but before consummating the marriage, he is killed. Newly widowed Daniel and Hope each need a spouse to stay on the train. Will their marriage continue once they reach Oregon? I love these stories. Goss keeps them fresh with a completely new story line each time. This one was emotional. While Hope had no love for her first husband, Daniel felt his soulmate’s death right down to his soul. I could feel his conflict and grief. At the same time, I loved how things moved and their paths changed. It’s a story of faith and hope, and growing love. I absolutely adored the epilogue! Another beautiful story to add to my collection.
Jessica Caruso is a new narrator to me, and I thoroughly enjoyed her narration. She has a good pacing and her voices are wonderful. She brings emotional tugs and light to the story and made it a very enjoyable listen.

This shows how tough it was on the wagon trails. This story really brings home what so many went through. Very enjoyable read!
This is Book #3 in the new Prairie Rose collection and is a wonderful, heart warming story. Hope is ready to leave the orphanage and becomes a mail order bride. She and her husband join a wagon train headed West. There the adventures begin Lies, deceit, adventure, danger, love and a HEA are all a part of the story. I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it. I know you will enjoy it too.
When Hope reacts on a mail order advertisement she’s just happy to leave the orphanage. But her new husband is an outlaw who just needs a wife to go with him on the wagon train. When her husband dies she needs to team up with a new widower Daniel. Can she marry again without love loving him and being loved?
I really loved this sweet story, these characters are so lovable while they try to make best of the situation, and it has a great HEA. A recommended read.
Hope Carlson has decided that she needs to become a Mail Order Bride. She chooses one man based on the fact he offers an adventure and a trip on the Oregon Trail by wagon train. Hope doesn’t know all this trip will entail until she arrives to meet her intended husband. She is rushed into marriage and they agree not to consummate the marriage until they know one another better. She does NOT like this man!!!
As the trip begins her distaste for him grows immensely day by day. She is not aware he is an outlaw at first. He refuses to let her make friends, share things with others and keeps her to himself. He also drinks to excess! Things come to a head when the Wagon Train is delayed due to
a fever. The rest of his outlaw friends (or are they enemies?) find and kill him, leaving Hope alone and close to expulsion from the train.
Daniels wife Nancy passes away from the fever at the same time. The Wagon master comes up with a solution, and Hope and Daniel must marry to be allowed to stay with the Wagon Train until it reaches Oregon. How will two people that just experienced the worst moments of their lives come to a solution and agreement that will keep them with the Wagon Train? This book has it all. A little intrigue, danger, life and love.
Barbara Goss writes extraordinary stories of life and love. Her books move and flow so that you cannot put them down until you have read the last page. Her characters will grab you and pull you into the story before you are finished with the first chapter.
I received an ARC of this book and am choosing to leave an honest review.
This was another great story from Barbara Goss. She never disappoints. Hope and Daniel’s story is beautifully written, heartbreaking and heartwarming afterward. Jessica Caruso did a great job with the narration. I enjoyed my listening.

Beauty from ashes
Another winning story from Barb and the Prairie Roses Series! This book is filled with loss, heartache, struggles and hard decisions, but there’s always Hope!
Jessica did a wonderful job on the narration. I truly enjoyed this audiobook!
This is a beautiful story of a marriage of necessity between two kind but heartbroken people who may have a chance at real love if they can put their past loves to rest. I received a complimentary audio and this review is voluntary.
I really enjoyed this easy to read, interesting story in the form of an audiobook and was able to listen to it in a few hours.
It is well written, flows nicely from scene to scene, has a pair of really nice main characters who bravely face the hardships that life dishes up and do something with their lives that impact on their relationship and improve it.
This is the type of story that could rekindle hope and trust in one’s life and that could possibly help a lot of people.
I enjoyed the narration by Jessica Caruso which was easy to listen to and I found it a pleasure to listen to.
My voluntary review above is unbiased and written after listening to an ARC copy of the audiobook.
Such a beautiful love story. This story was set during a time of very hard travels for people. Sickness and loss of life was very common and people heading West had to make tough decisions. This sweet, clean story also had some suspense to it. I very much enjoyed the story and the narrative.
