A standalone romance! Read the series in any order! Previously titled “Inspired by the Creative Cowboy.”
A woman who’s lost her trust, an artist who’s lost his inspiration, and the broken-down barn that brings them together.
Summer Brown is back at Sage Valley Ranch nursing the loss of her job and desperate to prove herself. Her Nanna has given her the task of restoring the old barn used for … given her the task of restoring the old barn used for events. When the contractor she’s hired skips town, she’s left high and dry—until Julian Wolf steps in. He sure is good-looking, but her trust is shot.
Artist Julian Wolf has wandered aimlessly since the failure of his last gallery showing. When he hears the cute blonde lamenting the loss of her contractor, he offers to help. His plan was to fix the barn, maybe do a little soul-searching in hope of finding his inspiration, not lose his heart to a girl he’ll have to leave.

Sweet and Clean Romance
This sweet and clean romance takes place on a modern Texas Dude Ranch that is having a hard time financially. The plot is pretty straight forward and heart warming. This story has no faith elements but is sweet and clean. I have read a few books in this series and they are all outstanding, feel-good stories. I received this Arc from the author and this is my honest review.
Inspired by the Creative Cowboy is a sweet, clean addition to the Sage Valley Ranch series. Although it was quite predictable, the characters were interesting and it was fun to visit Sage Valley Ranch again. I would have liked a little more depth, although that’s hard to do in a novella.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this novella. All opinions are my own.
Inspired by the Creative Cowboy by Bree Livingston (4 stars)
A sweet, clean novella where two people, who have recently been emotionally trampled, find one another and find true love. Their insecurities make it a bit of a bumpy road, but the ending is satisfying! I just finished reading it for the second time and I have a big grin on my face.
I really like both Justin and Summer-it was easy to cheer them on…they were well-suited and so, even though they’d only known each other for a short time, it wasn’t difficult to feel that the relationship was going to succeed.
The side characters were a lot of fun! Lexi, the cousin, and Bucky and Nanna, the Grandma and Grandpa, were delightful characters! There were some really well-written moments with these relatives of the heroine; some were light and fun interactions and some were quite poignant ones.
My favorite quote: “Her heart was on a seesaw, and the big kid on the other end was in charge.“
It’s a nice bonus to get the story of the last Wolf brother! I’m hoping to someday read a story where Britney Wolf gets to find her true love 😉
*poor, **ok, ***good, ****very good, *****something special
I really enjoyed reading this book!
It’s a feel-good romance.
Two people looking for what is missing in their life.
Possibly finding love, Summer did not trust herself enough
with Julian, to open her heart.
Julian, finally found what was missing in his life.
Now he just has to prove to Summer, his feelings are real.
I loved everything about this Must Read Story!!
This is the fifth book in the Sage Valley Ranch series written by different authors. This one focuses on Summer Brown and Julian Wolf. It was a sweet, delightful, love story of two insecure people both searching for that missing piece, that inspiration, that one person to spend the rest of their lives with. How nice to see family being important to both characters too and how both Summer and Julian brought out the best in each other. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
This installment of the Sage Valley Ranch books is delightful. It’s amazing how in this series different authors capture the same feeling of the characters. This is a stand alone book, but references are made to the characters that are in the other books. The relationship between Summer and Julian is complicated. Many times I’ve just wanted to smack characters and tell them to just talk to each other. That didn’t happen in this book. The author walked the fine line between letting the story play out and dragging it out for emphasis. It’s interesting to see how “creative” this cowboy is. It’s a real human interest story.
Thank you Bree Livingston for the ARC for an honest review.
Great characters and a really sweet love story. Love this series.
If you are wanting a horse riding, cattle roping cowboy, this is not the book for you, but if you are wanting a well written story with wonderful characters, then pick this book. Sage Valley Ranch is a special place and Summer and Julian are special people. Bree Livingston brings us the story of two sweet down to earth people who have each been hurt by someone in their past. For Summer it was a trusted colleague, for Julian it was an art critic and himself. This is the story of them finding ways to first trust themselves and then someone else. I really enjoyed this book.
I love the Wolf family and I love Sage Valley. How fun to have them come together in one book. Julian and Summer have an instant connection that they try to fight, but eventually give in. Julian is such a sweet guy. Who agrees to restore a barn for free? He is just such a good guy and treats Summer so well. I like Summer too, but definitely get frustrated with her a time or two. Thank goodness for Nanna and Lexi who help her figure things out.
Such a nice sweet story. A story of finding someone you can love but letting fear take over. But if you let love in your dreams can come true. I received a complimentary copy and I am voluntarily reviewing.
Well rounded characters, realistic situations, and a return of characters from previous books in this series made this a fun read.
What a sweet story! I am enjoying the Sage Valley Ranch series and look forward to reading more by this author. I received a complimentary copy of the book. No review was required.
