Mavi has come to understand that her desinynis to be with the Devil in hell and th mother of his demon seed.
Mavi is an assassin and it is in her blood to continue so she must find a suitable nanny remind you in Hell. The day has come and little Miss Jane is interviewed and hired with her extra bubbly self.
Jane seems to be doing well in her new position, but is there a secret motive behind her working in the Devils house that noone else sees? When she hangs out one night in the wrong place at the wrong time, Raz thevDevils right hand man has to rescue her. Rescuing her has now caused a few enemies to seek revenge. Raz is the one who would not let any harm come to the Kingdom of Hell or anyone living there. Raz hasvtaken a liking to Jane and this is something that could present a major problem. When his defenses are down and the only person who can help him is Jane can she tap into her inner dark side and rescue them both.
I liked Raziel from the very first moment we met him, even though he does a lot of things that aren’t all that great. I mean, he is Lucifer’s right hand man, after all. So, reading his story was something I really enjoyed.
I like Jane. I think that she has a lot of strength that people don’t necessarily see at first. They just see this Fae with the rainbow hair, and nothing about what’s inside her, and I don’t necessarily mean any kind of physical strength, but mental and emotional strength. There are times when she’s had to be submissive and had no control, but I think that she just hid that strength even further inside her.
Raz is an interesting character. He’s not a good guy, and he’s very much not a good guy, and he’s perfectly happy not to be a good guy. But, he does have a lot of good aspects. He’s good to Cassandra, and very protective over her. He will do whatever he has to though, to make sure that he does what Luci wants, and whatever he thinks needs to be done.
Great addition to a great series.
Oh my word can this series get any better.
This installment is to do with Raz and Jane. Jane is a temptation to Raz who has been warned by Lucifer to keep his hands off her. Jane pull is to great for Raziel to ignore. The more time he spends with her the more he wants her. Who would think this sweet innocent Fae could be so dangerous.
This is a book that is difficult to put down. You are captured from page 1 to the end.
Claire you rock woman, I cant wait to get into the next installment.
This is an amazing series that is a must read. Raziel and Janes story is an action packed brutal story that will have wanting more. Them falling for each other wasn’t meant to happen or was it, let alone fall in love. Death and destruction seems to follow them along with lots of hot sex. The Devil sees all even when you think he dosent you cant decieve him not even Mavi. There is a lot happening in this which makes me think they’re might be more to come form this series.
god, I love this series so much: it’s just so addictive and I really can’t get enough of the antics and lack of remorse this throws out there.
It just makes such a refreshing change to be following and rooting for the bad guys and that they are staying true to there inert natures: really adore that about this particular series: how it dabbles in that murky in-between almost in the grey of things.
So the first two books here follow Lucifer and Mavi and are told from there POV this one zero’s in on Raziel, Lucifers right-hand man or more accurately Nephilim and Jane some kind of supposed Fae who has been hired to work as a nanny for the precious royal offspring.
But all is not as it seems and Jane despite her uncomplicated outward persona has a definite hidden agenda and is most certainly keeping secrets if she doesn’t watch her step what she is hiding could get her killed.
So this one is told from Raz and Janes POV and their relationship does conclude in this one volume.
Jane herself is a totally different personality type to Mavi and as such the love between these two has a much softer vibe than what we are used to with this particular series though there were still moments here that this most definitely took a much darker overall flavour and turn.
There was also quite a lot of input here from Lucifer himself and after observing him in a much lighter vein previously with his love for Mavi and Juliette here he gave no ground whatsoever and was right back on form scheming, plotting and dispensing his own particular brand of twisted justice.
This had so many twists and turns and went in directions I really wasn’t anticipating or expecting.
And that end reveal, oh my it shocked me sideways I didn’t see that one coming at all.
This series is one that I do recommend highly but it does need to be read in order as there is an underlying story that continues on throughout the books.
This, as expected, was a great read and if you like your dark paranormal then this one has such a river of decadent deliciousness running straight through it.
I voluntary reviewed a copy of From Ashes & Embers (Ceasefire Series Book 3).
All opinions expressed here are entirely my own.

“Sugar and spice and all things nice, that’s how you taste”
Hell’s fire I love Raz!
Mavi and Lucifer are having a bit of trouble with keeping a nanny on staff – don’t have to wonder why
Enter Jane the highly recommend, happy go lucky, cupcake baking, rainbow-haired elf. The complete opposite of everything in hell – let us not forget to mention she is the fire singing Raz’s every last nerve ending.
“By all that’s unholy, don’t you ever shut up?”
Marta delivered again with Ashes and Embers. All of our beloved favorites are back plus some exciting new characters. The plot has only seemed to darken as Lucifer once again moves his pieces on the board – placing some of our favorites in the very dangerous position of checkmate. Deception and betrayal are commonplace revealing plot twists and underhanded quests that forced me a couple of times to set down my kindle to take a moment and catch my breath (and maybe dry my eyes). if you are looking for mercy you will find none within the frozen depths of hell – yes they are still working on the seals.
This ends on a cliffhanger- one that I would never have seen coming
Mavi I still love you girl! You are my idol!
And Lucifer you are just an arse!
Book 3 of the Ceasefire series brings us into Raziel’s world. From his tragic youth through his allegiance to Lucifer as his right hand man, he’s had no time for a real relationship. And he’s always seen woman as playthings to use up and discard.
Enter Jane, the sweet and innocent, rainbow haired fae hired as Lucifer and Mavi’s nanny. (I know, right? Lucifer has a nanny!) I wouldn’t say it was love at first sight but soon they can’t deny the pull.
While this installment does focus on Raziel’s and Jane’s steamy and rocky relationship, there is so much more to this, hopefully, never ending story. Hell is still frozen over. Lucifer is still the one you love to hate and hate to love. Evil forces on both sides of the gates are still trying to bring the leader of the underworld down. Secrets come to light and lies continue to swirl about and there are twists and turns that will leave you breathless .
You should know that this book ends with a cliffhanger, so if you are looking for an nice and tidy HEA, you’ll have to wait. Don’t let that stop you, though. This series is too good to hold back on.
This is another fast paced, action packed story. This one focuses on Raziel, Lucifer’s right hand man, and the new nanny, Jane. Their chemistry is intense despite her innocence, and their scenes are seriously steamy.
There are a lot of secrets, everyone seems to be hiding something and they are revealed throughout the story along with some of the characters background. As always the story is brutal and erotic and the characters from the previous stories make appearances throughout, including Cass who hides her own secrets. You are left needing to know what is going to happen next and how the situations that arise will develop in the future.
WOW Just WOW, Can this series get any better, that is a big fat YES! I absolutely loved the first two books but this was just as good if not even better if that is possible.
This series is so addictive that it has you routing for the bad guys every damn time, the intricate plot that Claire weaves has you on your toes though out as you never know what is going to happen next, the world building is just phenomenal and the plot that unfolds you have no idea how it will end,it went in directions that i was not expecting at all.
This story was centred around Raziel second in command to Lucifer and his right hand man,and Jane was the hired babysitter for Mavi and Lucifer’s daughter, right from the off there was chemistry between these two Raz and Jane, but she is off limits to Raz a order from his master.Jane is part Fae and is a sweet happy go lucky girl that loves to bake and read, but all is not what it seems as Jane has a hidden agenda and is keeping a huge secret that could get her killed.
This was dark and twisted just the kind of book that Claire has you hooked on,this was action packed with plenty of suspence plus lots of twists through out,the hotness between Raz and Jane was freaking smoking phew!!but if you have read the first two books you will already know how hot the sex was between Lucifer and Mavi and this book does not disappoint in the hotness either holy moly smoking hot!
This series does need to be read in order as there is a underlying story that continues with each book,if you love dark paranormal this is definitely a must read and that ending i never saw coming at all and this is why i love Claire’s books, always expect the unexpected.Five Huge Dark and Twisted Stars.
‘There’s no resisting her. I’m addicted to everything she does.’
Wow this series just keeps on getting better, the world that has been created is so all encompassing and well thought out, that every little detail is planned and perfectly executed. I am constantly in awe of how Claire Marta is able to pull off such an amazingly complex world with such deep characters. If you read the other books in the series, you already know you’ll be rooting for the bad guys and if you haven’t read them what are you waiting for. The first two books in the series follow Mavi and Lucifer which were dark and filled with some pretty intense sex scenes. This book follows Raziel and Jane and I think I loved their characters even more than Mavi and Lucifer.
After selling his soul to the devil as a little boy Raziel has cemented his place as Lucifer’s right-hand man. Raziel has never had a hard time following his master’s commands that is until Jane the innocent looking Fae shows up as the new nanny for Mavi and Lucifer’s daughter. Being told that she is off limits just ramps up the attraction until Raziel can hardly stand it. Jane is sweet and caring and loves looking after little Juliana and baking sweet treats every day. However, she isn’t exactly what she seems and there are alterative motives at play which bring danger and suspense to the book.
This book was filled with so much action, suspense and hotness that you will find yourself saying just one more chapter well past bedtime. There were elements that I did not see coming at all and leaves me excited to see what happens next.
“You and me, that’s all that matters. This. Every time I’m inside you, it feels like home.”
Two children born of unions that should never of been possible , one had parents who loved her , the other a mother who loved him , both lost their childhoods to pain , torture & abuse . Raziel became the Devils right hand man & thought he’d seen it all & done it all , Jane believed her guardians were raising her for her great grandfather for a greater purpose , both had their eyes opened to what could be when they give in to the lust that been in the air since they first met & just when they start to hope & believe they could be together its all ripped away . A fantastic third book in this series that just keeps finding new depths & emotions to wring from the reader , the Devil plays his pieces like a grand chess master , testing loyalty ,love & even family to the limit , my favourite quote in the book is Raz telling Jane “the Devil might own my soul but you have my heart ” who wouldn’t melt at that .
This is the type of book that makes me immediately want to reread it. Claire Marta weaves an intricate plot that pulled me in. It almost defies logic how she is able to continually surprise the reader throughout the novel.
The character development was extremely well done. I especially love how she not only kept previously introduced characters’ personalities consistent but also continued to add layers. The main characters in this one were a powerful combination. The feelings just dripped off the pages. As always with this series the world building is masterfully done. The author gives intensity to the words she writes.
The story grabbed me immediately and I could not put this book down. This book has a swirl of darkness, an edge of suspense, and the power to render a reader speechless with its twists. I may not ever be able to anticipate where Claire Marta will take me on a journey but I can always count on her to captivate me completely and leave me so very thankful for her magic.
5 stars for a dark, edgy and twisted read.
I so, so love this series!!! This book focuses on Raziel and Jane, we still see the characters we’ve come to know and love- Mavi, Lucifer, Cassy and Gabriel but they take a back seat. From the beginning I was totally engrossed in this book and with all of the twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat! Raziel has been the Devil’s right hand man for centuries. Living under his laws and abiding by his rules never questioning until Jane. Now Raziel just can’t abide by the one, most important rule the Devil has set for him, don’t bed Jane.
Jane comes across as a sweet and sugary Fae, but there is steel in her core. Jane is brought into the underworld to be a nanny to Lucifer and Mavi’s daughter. She is absolutely perfect for Raziel, she balances out his dark desires and at the heart of her she is not so different from Raziel. Bad boy, man-whore Raziel is it balanced out by sugary sweet and everything good Tinker Bell. I can’t wait for more of all of these characters and what devious plans this author has in store for us next!!!
This series is just so damn good!!
The world building in this book just keeps getting better and better! The characters revel in their darkness, making no apologies for their actions, and yet you cheer them on from the sidelines. Raziel is an ultimate bad boy, second in command to the Devil, he thrives in his role. Tink, poor Tink. She comes into Raz’s life as the colourful nanny to the Princess of hell. The journey these two take is filled with pain, lots of pain, lust, torment, betrayal and well I’m not saying anymore, but GET INTO THIS SERIES!
I just love this dark paranormal world that Claire Marta has given readers. It’s so complicated yet I follow it easily. You must read the previous books to follow the storyline and it’s very addictive.
This third instalment of the series tells the story of Jane and Raziel and it’s equally as dark and gripping as the first two books. Jane is not who she seems and is off limits to Raziel because of Lucifer but that just makes it even more sexy and engaging.
Lots of suspense and debt to the story. This paranormal world is written so well that you find yourself cheering on the bad guys. Great job, great series.
