Mandy goes on five blind dates and, much to her surprise, her dates are perfect. Too perfect maybe? Mandy loves her life and doesn’t think that finding her soul mate is essential to her happiness. Her friends, however, are of a different opinion, and she has had more than enough of their innumerable attempts to find her the perfect man. When they promise to stop annoying her if she agrees to meet … stop annoying her if she agrees to meet five men they choose, she gives in. She’s convinced she can prove to them that blind dates aren’t the best way to find your soul mate, and she’s counting on the public following her adventures on a blog to stand behind her.
Going from surprise to surprise, Mandy is carried away in a whirlwind of new encounters. However, she soon realizes she won’t be yet another romantic comedy heroine, forced to endure catastrophic dates. Her suitors are perfect … too perfect maybe? Not only that but whenever the public weighs in she gets even more confused and therefore incapable of deciphering what her heart really wants.
Sometimes perfection is far from being what someone’s really looking for in life.
EXCERPT 1
“Do you feel the electricity between us, too?” he asks with an air of wonder.
“What? What electricity? I don’t feel anything at all,” I retort, annoyed.
Is he making fun of me?
“Too bad. I was hoping you would. I know that in order to give a man a real chance, you need to feel sparks fly around. You can deny it all you want, but you are the most romantic woman in existence.”
The waiter comes to deliver our order, and I take advantage of the opportunity to finally pull my hand away. Once the waiter departs, I lean back and cross my arms.
“No, I’m not,” I respond to Ryan’s last statement.
“Should I remind you of what you told me about Kylie and Adam?”
“Their love story is unique.”
“Every love story is different and unique, and I promise you ours will be too,” he says with a wink.
“All right, smarty pants. I see that I can’t get rid of you easily, so I’ll have to be more cunning. You want to play with me, let’s play. I promise you I’ll eliminate you from the game sooner or later.”
EXCERPT 2
“If your life is as perfect as you pretend, how would I be able to disturb it?”
“Don’t play this game with me. You know what I’m talking about.”
“Actually, no I don’t. I think you’re just annoyed because you can’t stand the idea of having feelings for me. You can’t stand the idea that I may be right; that there may be something more than friendship between us.”
“Might I remind you we have an appointment with Natalie this evening, and if I’m not mistaken, it was I who invited her.” Which I regret bitterly, but it’s not any time soon that I’ll admit it to you.
“You did it because you wanted to prove to yourself that you weren’t jealous. The only problem is that you are.”
“You are …” I’m at loss for words. “You are impossible!”

An amazingly wonderful well written fourth standalone installment in the Meant to .. Date series. This fun, flirty, sweet romance was a great romantic friend to lovers comedy. Mandy agrees to 15 dates with 5 different guys of her friends choosing for them to leave her alone and stop ptessuring her to find someone. The characters were funny, complex, and interesting with cameos from previous characters. The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book, while providing background, motivations and erotic behavior. I honestly and voluntarily reviewed this ARC.
This is the first book by this author that I’ve read. It’s an enjoyable story. Mandy’s friends keep setting her up on dates hoping to find a romantic interest for her. She’s concerned about who they’ll set her up with, especially when one of them is her friend. Can they take their friendship past the friend zone? I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for leaving my review.
a unique premise and a fun story
Ryan and Mandy are a good couple. Things about each that are nuts, but they work well together. I liked the date “dare” situation with her friends. Statistically, not likely that all of the guys would have been equally gorgeous and all that… but that is ok, it is a book. All of the guys are always good looking in books, right?
The premise was fun and the story entertaining.

I remember liking Mandy in the previous book and being intrigued by the sparks between her and Ryan. This book pushed me to the limit to keep liking Mandy. The story does a brilliant job of explaining all her motivations and providing background for her neurotic behavior. There were still times I was hard pressed to sympathize with her, though. One thing I can definitely say is that this author is highly skilled at creating complex, frustrating characters that make me want to reach into the page and shake some sense into them. Ryan didn’t spark as much of that reaction in me, but that might only be because I couldn’t see the chaos swirling in his thoughts. I believe that he’ll be an excellent partner for Mandy. He’s willing to put her at the center of his universe, yet he’s not afraid to push against her when he thinks she’s mistaken. The author also has a talent for giving us challenging heroes who are romantic in unconventional ways.
