Jami“You’re father’s going to prison. We’re moving in the morning” are words that crushed me and sent my life spinning on its axis. Twenty four hours after my father’s sentencing, everything changed. I left behind my high school life along with cheerleading and all that it encompassed. In an act of rebellion, I gave the hot senior the one thing I could never get back. Me.Then, in a flash….I was … in a flash….I was gone.
My mom checked out mentally and my sister left and changed her name so any relation to my father would never be known. I became an outcast, overlooked and thrown away. I was alone. Except for the memories of the man who showed me more tenderness in one night than any other man has in an entire relationship.
Christopher
Losing her sent me into a tailspin, I never got the chance to see her again and I found myself in more trouble than I ever thought possible. I was jailed, dishonorably discharged from the military for disruptive behavior and I sold my only football stud brother down the river for a gambling debt I couldn’t pay.
I had to carve out a piece of life for myself away from my superstar of a twin, so I disappeared after my legal battles buried me. I moved to Texas and became a bull fighter, but the spunky redhead I met all those years ago proved to be more dangerous than any bull I would face.
She recklessly gave me her body and I never gave it back. Since then I’ve been tied to her heart. I lost her once and I don’t intend to again. Even if I have to tie her up myself.

This is the first Cave Series book that I’ve read. I cannot wait to read the others. I love second chance stories. Christopher’s and Jami’s story is beautiful and painful. They both have demons to fight, some past and some present. The first time around they were kept apart but never forgot each other. Their second chance though isn’t easy either, they have to fight for each other and protect each other. This story was beautifully written. I have yet to find a book by Teri Kay that I do not like. I highly recommend this read!
Although it can be a standalone, read the rest of the series either before or after. You will know the other characters that are mentioned. Plus, it’s just a really good series.
There is not a bad character in Teri Kay’s Cave Series. This time around we have we have Jami and Christopher.
Jami’s home life was spiraling out of control. Her father had gone to prison and her mother was slowly losing her mind. When her family had to suddenly move, Jami gave her whole self to hot senior Christopher, a crush she has harbored for a long time. If life was going to throw her a curveball, then she was going to enjoy every last second.
After his one unforgettable night with Jami, Christopher loses himself. His life didn’t turn out the way he planned and trouble seemed to follow him. Being the twin brother of a famous football player, he used his famous brother to help him out of a jam. But now he is clean and ready to find his place in the world away from his twin. Luck was on his side when the one girl who has held his heart suddenly appears back in his life. Just as the rest of his life, he has been given a second chance to let the girl of his dreams back into his life and keep her there.
I loved Christopher and Jami’s story. Both have had their lives blow up in their faces but have fought to regain control of who they are. Teri Kay writes both of their stories with passion and it shows in the book. Thank you Teri Kay. I can’t get enough of the characters in you Cave Series. Please don’t let it end!
Sit back and enjoy a quick little novella! The characters are well developed and relatable. Both have pasts that they are trying to overcome. It’s a second chance for them in more ways than one. I definitely recommend this as it also gives some closure to the Reckless Desire book
What an amazing new book by Teri Kay!! “Reckless Ties” is part of The Cave series and it is full of romance, suspense and hot nights. Christopher and Jami were friends in high school and he was always there to protect her and keep her safe. They spent one magical evening together then without warning, she moved away. His life was never the same after she left, and he found himself wandering down the wrong path one too many times, always making the wrong choices.
When Jami reappeared in his life under mysterious circumstances, he couldn’t believe his good fortune. Christopher felt that God had given him another chance at a life with Jami and he vowed to never let her get away again. They had a deep connection that never went away and only Jami could fill the empty space in his heart. He was ashamed of his past behavior but with Jami back in his life, his future looked so much brighter. She had always been the one for him and he hoped she felt the same way.
Christopher and Jami are a very passionate couple and Teri Kay has expertly written a tale of second chances and forever love. Their journey may have taken many wrong turns but in the end, fate and love brought them back to each other.
“For the first time in my life, Christopher, I feel like I’m home. They say home is where your heart is and my heart has always been with you.”
How many of us ever forget our firsts? Our first hangover? Our first kiss? Our first crush? Our first…. well… you know? Well, these two never forgot each other either. This was such a great story of a young, fumbling, love and a second chance at a grown up one.
Jami McGrath had exactly what she wanted. For one fleeting moment. Then it was ripped away from her – all because of her monster of a father. But now, more than a decade later, he’s here- one bedroom away. Does he remember her? One thing she does know is that her heart has never forgotten him. But how could he possibly ever love her after what she did – even if she hadn’t been a willing participant? With the chance of jail time looming in her future, are her chances of finally getting her happily ever after, destroyed before she has the chance to find out?
Christopher Grovanski is battling. Battling with his mind and his heart. She’s here. His tree-house girl. The one to whom he’s compared every other woman who’s warmed his bed for the night. But, she’s the daughter of the man who financially destroyed his family – not to mention the sister of his soon to be sister-in-law. He needs to know if she remembers him – if she’s held on to the memory of that night like he has. Could they pick up where they left off, or is the history between their families too much to overcome? She’s the one -she’s always been the one. But, even that might not be enough if she’s taken away from him.
I loved this story! The emotional attachment of these two was so sweet! Love knows no time line! It’s eternal and can spring back to life even after a decade of separation! Time is not linear. It’s not just made up of tally marks on a line marking important events. It’s a beautifully twisted pretzel – always intersecting, bringing you back to important places, people and chances. You just have to have your eyes open. Don’t blink!
