This book is a sequel to Love Me Tonight, but focuses on Jenny Marshall’s friend Marcee Robbens. Love Me Tomorrow begins at the wedding of Jenny and Robert. Marcee has a hot, intense one-night stand with Sam McKelvee,, a detective with the Chicago PD. Sam leaves Chicago for a small town, which he thinks is a better place to raise his daughter, Fern.
Months later, Marcee moves back to her small hometown to help her brother Cam finish high school after their flighty mother takes off with her latest boyfriend. And her new neighbors are Sam and Fern. Marcee and Sam reconnect, but missteps abound until the finale.
The pacing is good, main characters flawed but relatable, and the story reads very well. The romance is intertwined with issues of siblings, father-daughter mishaps, and small town gossip. I like stories that deal with larger issues, and this story does. Here the bigger issue is learning to judge people by their actions, not on how they look or who their parents are. This issue is integrated well into the story in several places.

This story grabbed my attention from the beginning. I enjoyed the complexities of Sam & Marcee’s characters & the sexiness of their first encounter. The one night stand that created feelings that continued to haunt both of them. The quirk of fate that had Marcee returning home to take care of her brother, Camden & it being the same small town that Sam & his daughter, Fern, had relocated to. The fact that Sam’s daughter & Marcee already know each other. Both Sam & Marcee had to learn that you need to really look into a person to see what they are like & not take things at surface value. The story gave an accurate reflection of small town life & the local gossips & busybodies. This was an excellent story & I hope to read more of the same from Ms. Kirk.
Cindy Kirk is masterful at redeeming broken heroines as they mature, learn from their mistakes, get perspective on their lives, help others through their past experiences, and finally come into their own. Marcee is one of those characters. Add in an imperfect hero, questioning everything in his own life, but not being able to forget a woman he met once at a wedding, and you have the makings for fireworks.
I loved Love Me Tomorrow. And the hero is the perfect counterpoint for Marcee, confident and a pillar of the community, dealing with his own insecurities and baggage. The two need each other to grow. And they do—all the way to a hard fought for, happily-ever-after.
This is a steamy novel, but filled with so many sweet moments, between the hero and heroine and with great secondary characters, who add depth, humor, and angst to the story. Add in a wonderful, sweet, grand-gesture of an ending and you have a recipe for a great romance.
I was given a free copy of this book for a fair and unbiased review.
Marcee is the best friend of Jenny from Love Me Tonight. The beginning of the book is Jenny and Roberts wedding. Marcee meets Sam the Father of Fern. They spend the night together, then he moves away. He moves to her hometown. Her Mom kicked her out when she was 17. She moved away and went to college, and went to a job as a CPA. Due to a former clients lies, she gets fired. She goes back home to take care of her 17 year old half brother after their Mom left with husband #5 who is a long haul truck driver. She meets up with her high school best friend, and of course Sam.
Great book, great story about overcoming your past.
I received a copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
Marcee’s steamy one night stand with Sam at her friend’s wedding was more than just that. From the beginning they both knew there was something more there, but as life would have it, Sam was moving away and Marcee was trying to avoid a relationship. Sam had hoped his move to a small town would help his relationship with his daughter, Fern, get stronger. Marcee was called upon to help her younger brother Camden and their messy family situation, and by doing this, she moved back to that gossip-filled town full of memories from the past. In that small town, not only did Marcee find a special next door neighbor, but she found a stronger person within herself. Someone who could grow from her past and find who she wanted to be.

I enjoyed reading this book. This book is different from other books by Cindy Kirk but it’s a great change. This story is steamier, romantic and fun. I certainly love the end of the story, I think it was unique, funny and romantic. I highly recommend reading this book. Boy if this book isn’t reality of small town life, I don’t know what is! Gossip definitely is a problem in small towns. Cindy does a great job of weaving this story about small town life and trying to keep your personal life private. Also, judgement of others based on looks rather than character! Great read!

I could not put this book down! This is such a great story about how sometimes love happens when you least expect it. Part of what I appreciated most about this book was Sam’s constant faithfulness to Marcee despite town gossip. Sometimes life is not always fair but this story shows that regardless of how hard life can be and what curve balls come our way we can still have a happy ending. I was so happy to get Marcee’s story and just like her it was spunky and sassy until the very end. This book starts at Robert and Jenny’s wedding. Marcee, of course, is the in the wedding and at the reception looking for Mr. Just-For-One-Night. She finds just the man in Mr. Sam McKelvey who just so happens to be Jenny’s little sister’s best friend’s dad. Who knew?? Though both made it clear that they were not looking for anything more, both left thinking maybe.
Flash to a few months after the wedding and Marcee is heading back to her hometown to take care of her stepbrother. The town has just acquired a new Sheriff who is also from Chicago. What are the odds?? Both Marcee and Sam were bombarded with the shock of seeing each other again.
This story is adorable with a touch of steam. It is definitely creates some awkward encounters with both trying to stay under the radar of nosey neighbors in this small town.
Also, you get the bonus of having seeing a friendship develop between Marcee’s stepbrother, Cam and Sam’s daughter, Fern.
There is a lot going on in this small town. I hope this Cindy gets the urge to take us back there for a visit. I would love to read more.
Love Me Tomorrow is a wonderfully written story of redemption, reconnecting and rebuilding. Marcee grew up in a small town where she was judged and given a reputation based on her looks and her mother’s fast lifestyle. She was thrown out as a teenager, finished high school, went to college and moved away vowing to never return. Plans change. Sam is a widower, single father and former workaholic who is trying to reconnect with his teenage daughter. Sam and Marcee have a steamy one-night stand at her best friend’s wedding. Marcee moves back home to take care of her brother after he is abandoned by their mother, only to learn that her next door neighbor is Sam. Neither is looking for a relationship but the attraction and sizzle is still there. The story that follows is filled with laughs, tears, a little bit of anger and whole lot of love that leads to a happily ever after.
I received an advanced reader copy from the publisher but all thoughts and feelings are my own.
Marcee and Sam’s story is fun and real. Small town can be so helpful…LOL I really enjoyed this story.

I got to meet Marcee in Love me Tonight as Jenny’s BFF from work. Marcee was the out going love and leaving girl. She was everything Jenny wished she was more like. In Love me Tomorrow we get to know Marcee after Jenny’s wedding and what she thought would be a one night stand.
Marcee’s life takes a few off camera turns that we learn about later in the book. Marcee is looking to change her life and reach higher. She moves home to her small town, that she swears you would never do, to take care of her younger half brother.
Marcee and Sam have an interesting dynamic and their relationship is different than a lot of the past people in Cindy Kirk world. Sam has a teenage daughter and she is his first priority. Marcee also feels she needs to change her life and be different. She also wants to be different and there for her brother.
I liked Marcee, but I felt she let Sam get away with a lot for much longer then the strong determined woman she was in the last book and the beginning of this book. But I still liked the way everything planned out.
The small town is once again a character itself. I know this was only supposed to be a duet, but I would love to see what happens with Paula and Jay and Fern and Cam and I hope Iris finds a man for herself.
This was a great light quick read that kept me turning the pages. It was I look for in a Cindy Kirk book and hope to see more from these characters one day. Similar to Love Me Tonight this book is definitely not PG and has some great scenes, but doesn’t take away at all from the characters or the story line.
