Jace Bell, a nomad for the Skulls, and Beck Golden, his new old lady, moved to Phoenix with high hopes. Jace had been handpicked to run the new chapter of the Skulls by the presidents of both the Westside and Southside chapters. Wolf Lee and Dax Marshall made sure the club had the land to build on and the support they needed to move forward. It all felt almost surreal to Jace who had moved his … entire life from the east coast to the west in order to take the job. His life had never been easy and suddenly he had everything he’d ever dreamed of…but only for a fleeting moment.
When befriending an older Native American couple introduces the club to their twenty-year-old son Tommy, bizarre things begin to happen. At first Jace and Beck believe it’s all a ploy by Tommy to get them off land he believes they don’t belong on. But bodies begin to turn up and Jace has to dig deeper, unearthing along with the bodies a twisted tale of murder, lies and family dysfunction that runs much more than skin-deep. The future of the club is up in the air and nobody knows where the killer will strike next. Will Jace and Beck cave under all the pressure, or can this odd couple and their misfit crew rise from the ashes and begin again?

*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.
What an explosive start to what is shaping up to be a strong new chapter of the Skulls. Following from the ground up is quite nice though I never would have been able to come up with issues like this. There is new surprise on almost every page surrounded by action and steam to create one fantastic read. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.
This story set up this new series. I enjoyed all the characters – Jace and Beck, Ajei and Tse, Streak and Taylor, Tommy and Jessie, Finn – as they showed what a family really is. There was humor, sadness, joy, and steam all while a murderer tries to upset the group. As they work together to help law enforcement find the murderer, these people found out more about themselves and those around them. I recommend this story.
I received an ARC through Enticing Journey Book Promotions, and this is my unsolicited review.
This was a great story with three love stories, the main couple and two others. Jace has been sent off to set up a new chapter of the Skulls in Phoenix. Beck, his old lady, is one of the strongest heroine’s I’ve read about but she and Jace have such a good relationship. The story is more about the setting up of the new MC and the new members that drift in to make it up. There’s suspense and angst with a serial killer on the loose and the club being put under a cloud of suspicion. There’s also a good bit of Native American background in the story. This is one author that I have followed and observed how much better I enjoy each one of her books as they are released. I highly recommend this book, even if you don’t usually go to the MC sub-genre. Looking forward to
I’m a huge fan of the Southside Skulls. Since then we’ve moved on to the Westside Skulls and now Boston and California are creating a new Charter, the Phoenix Skulls. They are an eclectic bunch of characters to put it mildly. Miss Cooke is even more creative in her writing and you are guaranteed never to be bored. She gave us a introduction to some of the other main characters that will be part of the Phoenix Skulls. I’m very much looking forward to this new series and finding out what the deal is with Boots. To maximize your enjoyment and truly benefit and understand the world that will be the Phoenix Skulls, I suggest you read from the beginning of the Southside Skulls and then the Westside Skulls. To understand the world you have to get to know the people. Happy Reading!
Jessie Cooke does it again! This current read took us on an awesome adventure. We really enjoyed it as the story was packed with tons of suspense, drama, wonderful character’s and was filled full of surprises.
Beck and Jace make an awesome couple as they are hilarious together. OMG! I just love Beck and her feisty personality and straight forwardness and her smart mouth as she definitely brought us tons of laughs in this current story. We also saw a vulnerable side of this time around, something we have never seen before with her, which was quite a surprise. Jace is just a sweetheart, we love his possessiveness, his hotness, his flirty personality
Jace and Beck are having nothing but trouble trying to get this club up and running and things are looking bleak but, one thing is for sure some of the newest club members are stirring things up a bit taking the focus off all the havoc going on all around them and their chaos is just as intense.
We love seeing some other club member’s like Wolf and Bruf gracing the pages of this current story. We are also really loving that Cocky Irishman Finn. Jace and Beck are my two new favorite power couple in this ongoing MC series.
Overall the story was a page turner several drama’s going on throughout it but, most of all we loved getting to know this new cast of characters. We loved also getting incite into the lives of this series new character’s like Jessie, Streak, Ajei, Taylor, Rock, Tommy Boots, Finn they definitely have an eclectic bunch of personalities. As the story progressed, it even got more suspenseful, and we really loved that. The story was also packed with tons of heat as this author really knows how to write some really sexy erotic sex scenes.
“We loved it from beginning to end !”
Any of Jessie’s books just blow me away and I can’t seem to stop reading them and this book was no different. This book introduces the Phoenix Skulls MC and continues Beck and Jace’s story. There is danger, heartbreak, passion, love and new friends. I loved every word and I couldn’t put it down. I am excited to see where this new MC goes and I can’t wait to dive into Jace’s story next. Jessie Cooke is one MC author that should be on everyone’s TBR list. She writes with heart and passion. She is the type of author that keeps you hanging until the end, but you dive in and read with a vigor because you want to know what happens next and she never disappoints. Highly recommend this book and author!!!
