The fae king is growing on me. Every touch, look, and night spent in his arms is slowly melting my resistance. When his feral side takes over, something inside me wants to let go and give him everything. With each passing day, the pull is getting harder to deny. But the road to the winter realm is full of danger, and I need to concentrate on finding my way home, not on the promises of pleasure … Leander whispers in my ear at night. Even so, how long can I resist the intoxicating kiss of winter?
Author’s Note: This is book 2 in the Fae’s Captive Series. Be sure to read book 1 first, or risk being lost in the enchanted woods with a growly fae king.

I am enjoying this journey beyond measure!
The road to the winter realm for our King, his right hand man and our two changelings is fraught with danger and evil. An Obsidian Witch, who might not be as bad as she seems…I said might, and the people suffering on the fringes of the Summer Realm, the Vundi all have agendas involving the King’s mate. Over his dead body!
And what of poor Taylor, the changeling “exchanged” has no clue where she is or what she’s doing, but just may be the only voice of reason in the bunch. Thanks to the witch, at least she knows what they’re saying now!
Pure entertainment.
So Road to Winter continued the story right where we left off in book one.
After there interactions with the Obsidian witch Selena Tayler, Beth, Leander and Gareth resume their journey towards the winter kingdom.
There is obviously secrets surrounding Taylor: ones that she seems unaware of herself.
A mysterious ancient prophecy concerning Taylor so it will certainly be interesting to see where this is ultimately heading.
This does have a sensual and much more animalistic vibe than its predecessor: yet Taylor and Leander are still yet to seal the deal here.
Again this was an engaging fun short read: really about sixty to ninety minutes worth depending on your reading speed.
Really wish this were longer than the bite-size offerings we are given.
No mind this is still such an enjoyable endeavour.
This again ended on a cliffhanger so really hope the next instalment is out soon.

This is book 2 of the serial, Fae’s Captive, and picks up where book 1 left off, i.e. Taylor and the Fae Winter King and their entourage fleeing the summer realm. Road to Winter is about their journey to the winter realm. In part 2, Taylor and Leander (the winter king) grow closer and sexual tension builds. Leander has always wanted Taylor (he recognizes her as his mate from the start), but now Taylor begins to develop strong feelings for him.
Relationships deepen between secondary characters, who are very interesting, too.
And, we have another cliffhanger to hook the reader. A good read. I enjoyed the creativity and world-building. Great characters.
THIS book is my fav. it is simply AWESOME!!! prepare for a thrill ride!!!
Clearly it is going to be a long road to the winter lands. Mostly because everyone in the entire world seems to have some sort of grudge against their ruling classes, and they are willing to help whoever the king behind the mountain really is. You can tell Taylor is really starting to like her overbearing mate, but these two just can’t catch a break! Book Three here we come!
Fae’s Captive: Road to Winter by Lily Archer is book 2 in the Fae’s Captive Series. This continues the story of Taylor and Leander, so you really need to read the previous book ‘Fae’s Captive’ to fully understand and enjoy this one. This is such a great series you just don’t want to miss out on any of their story. Taylor is still working to deal with the new realm she is in and working to get back home. But her growing feelings and desire for Leander is making it hard to resist his temptation. There is danger too working toward the winter realm. So this continues the underline story in addition to Taylor and Leander working through their feelings. This series i keeping me on the edge of my seat… I need more soon… I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book. Loved this series~
Book 2 of the Fae’s Captive series, Road to Winter finds us heading from the summer fae’s world to the winter kingdom. As Taylor & Leander travel with their companions, there is as much for them to learn about one another as there is peril along the way. A good second book where we get to know more about both our Hero, Leander as well as our Heroine, Taylor. The secondary characters stay true to form and add more depth and interests as well. Clear of grammar errors/typos.
Road to Winter (Fae’s Captive Book 2) Kindle Edition
by Lily Archer
I borrowed this book via the Kindle Unlimited program and am choosing to leave a fair and honest review.
Imagine being pulled into the world of the Fae, something you have only read about in romance novels. Now that you have been rescued by a Fae Lord, you are on the run from your former owner with a second human slave in tow. And the Fae Lord insists you are his fated mate. That Fae Lord is sex on two legs and he keeps drawing you closer as you face dangers on all sides even though you want nothing more than to get home and face the ‘friend’ who sent you here.
Normally, I am not a huge fan of short, serial type novels. I usually find them to be cheats. Not in Ms Archer’s case. This story is complete in itself and part of the bigger story. I am hooked on Taylor’s story.
Other reviewers have complained at the price, but the author has been kind enough to put this up for KU readers which makes it not only affordable but highly addictive.

Once again Archer has taken us into her beautiful world and picked up right where the story left off in book 1. I couldn’t put this one down either and it felt like possibly the story was even shorter than the first one. The characters continue to captivate me and the world they are in seems full of all sorts of surprises. I loved this story and I really can’t wait to see how everything turns out. Which is why I am dying again from another cliffhanger and will be stuck wondering what happens next for a month. Please, please, please no more cliffhangers! If you can get past that one downfall this series is really worth reading and will quickly have you falling in love just as I did.
