Once bitten, twice shy. These days, true love can kiss her a$$. Finding your soulmate at a young age is supposed to set you up for a lifetime of happiness. But in Wyatt Monroe’s case, it taught her that forever love and soulmates are nothing but a great big pile of junk—a bedtime story not found in reality. Ten years ago, she lost everything she truly cared about. Now, she’s guarding her heart … everything she truly cared about. Now, she’s guarding her heart fiercely, more than content with her solitary existence as an artist in New York.
She doesn’t want the fairytale.
She doesn’t want a knight in shining armor.
She’s more than capable of saving herself, thank you very much.
That is, until Flynn Maguire tracks her down. He’s tired of hiding in his music from what they were. A decade of running from his feelings is far too long and now he’s determined to reclaim the life that should have been his.
But determination will only get you so far, and when the glare of public scrutiny shines an unkind light on their troubled past, they need to choose—
Let their past hurt tear them apart yet again, or stand together and learn that true love really does conquer all…

They say time heals all wounds, but love is the ultimate solution. An emotional, second chance love story after suffering the most tragic of losses.
Their pain was so real. Their love was broken but not unmendable! This is Wyatt and Flynn’s story of healing each other.
They fell in love at fifteen. Got married at eighteen. Soon after, they lost everything.
The only way for Wyatt to move on, was to start over and leave the past behind. Some pain fades but it never goes away,. Wyatt still struggles to move on.
Flynn became a world famous rockstar, but he never stopped loving the girl who stole his heart. He let her go, but enough time has past. It’s been ten years…ten years too long. It’s time to reclaim what’s always been his. Flynn is ready for his forever.
This story was tragic. It will break your heart and then it will slowly put you back together piece-by-piece. Flynn and Wyatt were connected through their pain and their love. The things that tore them apart would ultimately bring them back together and help them heal. I have enjoyed this series immensely and this quickly became my favorite read by this author. This story was beautifully told; the pain and heartache, as well as the chemistry and love. A fantastic addition to the series.
“Every song until the day I die”
This book left me with a dreamy smile, unshed tears in my eyes and a heart full of hope and love.
So far, this book is, without a doubt, my favorite by this author!
It’s a part of the Fleurs d’amour series, but it can also be read as a standalone.
This time, we get to know Wyatt’s story. And it is as sad as it is beautiful. We met her before and we knew she had something heavy from her past, but I had no idea what it was.
And as soon as I started reading, I was hooked.
The story was written with so many feelings. It had the sweetness that accompanied the whole series, and I loved that. All of the books in this series have that same sweet and embrancing warmth. And it also had some funny moments, specially when the girls were all together. And it wasn’t something forced, that was “trying too much too hard” to be real. It just was.
But one thing that I thought it was different from the previous books was that it had a lot of angst moments. But in the right amount, it wasn’t just plain painful, it was complex, and real and with so many emotions at the same time.
Wyatt and Flynn were more than lovers, they were Partners in Crime, even if people thought they were too young and imature. And maybe they were, but their love was real and all consuming.
But a tragedy changed them, changed their lives, such a painful occurrance that could mess with the wisest and most mature of the people. And being young, they had a hard time dealing with it, so their paths and their lives were altered. But not their love.
For so many years, they grieved and missed one another, for so many years they blamed themselves, for so many years they tried to move on with their lives based on “what ifs”, and they even made great of their lives.
But something huge was missing. Something was always going to be missing, but other things could be fixed, they could find their way toward one another again.
“I know that I haven’t felt this alive since the day I walked out on him ten years ago. It feels good to feel again, and I know that we are up to every challenge we’ll face. As long as we face them together”
I loved their love, I felt their pain when they were hurting for all those years, and I loved to see them healing each other. It was powerful, bittersweet and fullfilling.
I also loved their loyalty. Their loyalty to their dreams after all they’ve been though. Their friends’ loyalty towards them. How they all cared and rooted and cherished one another. They were all a big family that the heart chose.
I was so addicted to the story, I couldn’t put the book down. I wanted to know their past, I wanted to fix their present, I wanted to see their future unveil before my eyes.
I wanted their happily ever after, I wanted their dream to come true. And their HEA so worth the wait.
4.5 Stars
Wyatt Monroe has opened herself to friendship, but she has managed to keep one secret close to her and no one has found out until her past decides to visit her when she is having a hard time.
Flynn Maguire has become a famous singer who has kept a secret or two away from the press. But now he knows he needs to be with Wyatt when her best friend lets him know that she is having a hard time.
But have Flynn and Wyatt moved on from the past and will being together bring up memories that neither have dealt with?
When a reporter named Giselle begins nosing around is Wyatt willing to give up her private life for a chance with Flynn?
This was such a great book about dealing with the past and finding the happiness you have always wanted and needed.
I loved Wyatt and thought she was a great character who was obviously hurting from the past and just closed herself off to certain things. She is loyal to her friends and she is guarding her heart after events of the past and I admired her. I actually loved the times that she broke down as it made me feel good about any of my own breakdowns and how we need to shed tears to heal.
I loved Flynn except for the small fact that he was “dating/sleeping” with others. I knew why and did understand it as they were done but I felt bad knowing that both of their hearts remained true. He was truly concerned about Wyatt and I knew that he never stopped loving her but gave her the space that she had wanted.
I really thought the two were awesome together but they did have a lot to work through after the events of the past and the first thing was to actually talk about what happened. It totally broke my heart with what they went through.
I hated the press and especially Giselle. She was just pure evil with a vested interest and I was shocked at what she thought was ok and that she figured Flynn wouldn’t hate her after it all.
There were so many times when I wondered what was going to happen with Flynn and Wyatt and then towards the end I was left so broken hearted due to the actions of Giselle and so many others who chose to believe lies over the truth!
The end had me celebrating for sure and I loved how it all worked out!! – By Rebecca
Breathing Wisteria is my first Amali Rose book and I am so in love with her writing! A brooding, off the charts hot, intense as hell and uber alpha Rock god. A smart, sassy, beautiful and strong artist. And now imagine the most heartbreaking and life-changing story of second chance eternal love. And how can I not fall in love with this book?
Wyatt and Flynn has a big ugly secret hiding inside. They were childhood sweethearts and got married young. They thought love is enough to conquer the world. But some pain is too big and too devastating to survive. And they left each other as they were unable to cope with it. Now years later Flynn is a Rock god and Wyatt is living alone with her new life. But they still crave each other. And Flynn has decided they have wasted enough time in mourning past. He wants her back. But the tension of celebrity life, conspiring people the expectations and old issues are trying to ruin everything again. Can they find their way back to the small pergola covered in Wisteria?
Amali Rose has written a beautiful story. Second chance starcrossed lovers is one of my most favorite trope. She poured so much deep feelings in this couple. The chemistry runs deeper than scorching hot physical attraction. It’s like they can’t breathe without each other. It was something all of us crave. And that is overwhelming passion of true love. Amali Rose has a perfect love story for you. The pain and happiness both were equally exquisite. My heart was breaking for them and I am so so glad they found their HEA.
It was intense, angsty and passionate. It was swoony and heartwarming. It was a celebration of forever kind of love. Amali Rose has created perfection.
This second chance at love is so much deeper than a second chance at love for these two. They really never stopped loving each other and keeping close tabs on the others actions, they just stayed away. Ten years later it’s time to see if what they had as teens is strong enough to deal with all it would take to be together. Their story is passionate and their past makes them stronger. It’s an emotional story one that I have come to expect from this author but I have to admit it didn’t hit me as hard as the previous books in this series. To be honest these days it takes a whole lot to move me so keep that in mind. This is a good read the standard that I have learned to expect from this author which is always a good thing and one I look forward to when I see her releasing a new book.
Omg! I love Amali Rose’s books! Breathing Wisteria is something else. I love Wyatt and somethings she goes through I can relate to. PLus you have Flynn the hot rockstar who also has his issues but has his eyes set on Wyatt. I fell in love with the story and chemistry between them. YOu really need to read this and trust me when I say you will fall in love.
I cant wait to read more books from the amazing Amali!
Flynn and Wyatt’s story will repeatedly pull at your heartstrings throughout this beautifully written story. We’re taken to the past that will leave you with goosebumps and as these two cross paths once again there’s so much that has changed for both of them as individual. Seeing the determination Flynn has to not let go of what his heart wants has me cheering him on continuously yet at the same time I can understand Wyatt’s point of view as well. You will undoubtedly be grabbing for the tissues with this story as the past is revealed and we get to know these characters on a deeper level as they live their lives today. The pace for their story was perfect, the storyline flowed smoothly and you will never want to put your kindle down. I highly recommend you bring this to the top of your TBR list.
Talk about a book that was well worth the read! This author knows how to lure the reader in as she puts words to paper and keeps them turning the pages wanting more! The storyline was well written, the plot flowed smoothly from page to page and the characters were written with such great detail and depth! I was in total awe as I turned each and every page that I felt like Wyatt and Flynn jumped from the pages and pulled me right into their story as it flawlessly unfolded! I can’t wait to read more from this author!
Wow, what a hair raising start to the story..it hooks you right in and the story continues to absorb you until the last page.
Wyatt Monroe and Flynn Maguire, what a couple..sigh! ‘Nough said!
I love the characters in this story, the previous ones are great but I think Wyatt and Flynn are my favourites. Yes he is a hot, alpha rockstar but he is so much more and so easy to like. Wyatt’s fears and stresses are real and easy to relate to as well. Now Giselle, she is truly bad. This author really knows how to create a very evil character, make them create chaos and mayhem and take readers on an emotional journey where they want to scratch her eyeballs out!
I really like the wit in this story, often a tad cynical & very sarcastic but oh so funny! A lot of it is self directed though so not harmful to others and very innocent..apart from Cassidy who has snark down to a true art form but that in and of itself is humorous too. There are a couple of darker issues in the story that are very sad but are dealt with extremely well and smoothly.
This author just gets better and better!
