This book can be read on its own.
Greedy, cunning, and selfish, Sian is not someone to be trusted. But when Karina is called to break his spell with a kiss, she accepts it.
She’s smart enough not to fall in love—or at least to tell herself not to.
But risking a broken heart is the smallest of her problems. Sian’s been enchanted in a mysterious, ancient castle where dark magic has been … mysterious, ancient castle where dark magic has been awakened. And now Karina’s being hunted by strange, creepy creatures and has no idea why.
Sian offers to keep her safe and deal with the castle and its dark magic once and for all. If Karina wants to find answers, she’ll have to trust him. Trust Sian, the guy who says he’s no hero. What could go wrong?
Kissing Magic is a YA enemies-to-lovers romantic fantasy and can be read on its own. Recommended for readers 13 and older.

I loved this book. I’ve liked a lot the first one but was clearly for younger people. This one has a much more complete story with much better characters, or more than that, better presented ones. The evolution of the characters, mainly Karina and Sian, is really nice. You can truly see they are growing up and learning instead of getting stuck.
Something interesting are the occasional explanations of how technology works in Whyland.
More worlds, more magic, more love. What else can you ask for?
Also, the fairytales vibes are still here, and I love them. Therefore, I recommend this book 100%, even more than book 1.
I enjoyed this story. The plot was good. The characters were likeable. The only downside to the audiobook was the occasional cringe when the narrator badly mispronounced words. Fortunately it did not occur often enough to ruin the enjoyment of the story. I was given a copy of this audio book in exchange for an honest review.
I love this book. It has adventure, fantasy and magic and even some romance. The characters are well written and my favorite being Karina. The author did a great job on the story. Im definetly addicted to the Portals to Whyland series. If you love fantasy, magic, romance and adventure then you will absolutly love this book and I highly recommend reading!! (I received this as an ARC copy and am leaving a voluntary honest review)

Another good one
I like Day Leitao’s stories and this is another good one. Everyone knows kisses are magic, right? This is a really fun take on the mythos of magical kisses!

The book has a Nice story line. The Characters are good. If my memory is correct she is 16 or 17. This is a good clean book yet I had a hard time with a few of the choses that Karina made. All of the Characters learn a lot of good lesson and become wiser because of them.
I really enjoyed this book I’ll be buying from this author. This was my first book by her and I’m going to read everything she writes.
Although I liked the first book in this series, I was disappointed with the second book. I know it is YA but the first one was for younger children. There’s more to come but I won’t read it.
I liked this audiobook, it was engaging and entertaining. All fairy tales have a kiss in them somewhere along with magic. I am most definitely not the target audience for this book but I will recommend it to my granddaughters when they get older. It is a fun listen with lots of plot twists and turns, it kind of makes up for the slow part in the middle.
She is only 16 and she has heard much so kissing a man to break a spell sounds right. She goes to help but it is not as she thought it was. What is really going on? What will happen? Can she sort it all out? See if she can
