In this battle of wills, matrimony might be the deadliest game of all… biddable…
Perhaps too biddable.
It’s obvious his new wife is keeping a secret – a secret that keeps her from being completely his, and that is the one thing Sinclair cannot allow.
The daughter of a man of science, Winnifred is practiced in the arts of logic, control … and deception. Her secret is darker than her new husband can imagine. And the consequences of him discovering it could be deadly.
But as Sinclair draws her into a world of raging passions, the tempest gathering within might be the one thing she can’t hide.
When an enemy threatens, Sin and Winnifred will need to trust each other, and themselves, if they want to survive the honeymoon. Can they lose their hearts without losing their lives?
You’ll love this steamy regency romance, because everyone loves wild, alpha heroes, and the women who bring them to their knees.

SIZZLING HOT Historical Romance! This is the first book I’ve read by this author and let me tell you it was a 5+ star! Fast and easy to read with great characters! The book has substance; filled with emotion and a great storyline! Well done indeed!! Great wit!
I really enjoyed this book. The characters are wonderful and the action is fast without being frantic or exhausting.
If you like historical settings with spies, intrigue, and one of the best scientist characters ever, you’ll love this book.
Oh, and don’t forget two adorable dogs. Read it. You’ll love it.
It was a good story, but very slow moving.
Plot is old and tired. My favorite trope of the big scary man falling hard and showing his squishy emotions. And the kinky fun that is oh so good make up for the cliche spy plot.
I enjoyed good read
05/25/2021 Once I started reading “Marked by the Marquess” (nook), I had a difficult time putting it down. The story is well-written and edgy, pulling in the reader with intense emotions. I look forward to reading more books by Ms. Chase
Traitors in Scotland
A very physically passionate love story between a Scottish Marquess and an English lady, who were forced to marry when found innocently compromised.
A conspiracy is in the works in Scotland to cause a revolt of the Scottish against England. Once again spies for the crown are together to stop it. In the middle of it all is the English lady working through her fear and trust her husband. The bedroom door and everywhere else is open with very explicit sex between two consenting adults in love.
This 4th book was back on target with me. I felt book 3 was very flat and disappointing. I enjoyed Sin & Winnifred’s story and their bedroom scenes were hot.
Loved this character from the previous books and was waiting for his happy ending.
4.25 Stars
Sinclair, Marquis of Dunkeld, is determined to discover who’s behind the recent unrest in Scotland. But when he’s caught alone in a cellar with an unmarried woman, a hasty marriage threatens his mission. The daughter of a botanist, Winnifred is practiced in the arts of logic but she does hide some secrets. Maintaining her façade in her wild and treacherous new home is trial enough, but the storm of emotions Sinclair awakens in her might be the one thing she can’t control.
This is the fourth book in the series & it could easily be read on its own. It does feature the characters from the earlier books & also Summerset the only remaining bachelor & I can’t wait for him to meet his match. Sin & Winnifred are so well matched both in & out of the bedroom, I loved how their relationship grew & deepened. The book does contain a few sizzling scenes but these are part & parcel of the relationship & illustrates how Winnifred grows & gains confidence & her self esteem. The pace of the book was very good & I was drawn in from the beginning & enthralled until the last page. A story of spies, treason & of course romance – I loved it
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
Compromised in a very innocent manner, Winnifred soon finds herself married to Sinclair, Marquess of Dunkeld and on her way to his estate in Scotland. There are no remonstrations between the couple, though Sin’s last bachelor friend Summerset does not hold back with disparaging comments.
Quickly the pair discovers they are not only physically well matched in height, but share a similar sexual appetite. The bed scenes are of just the right length, neither abbreviated or too excessive.
Overall the story is well balanced between Sinclair’s investigation into a possible uprising against the Union, the newlywed’s getting better acquainted with each other, and their coming to terms with their own self-doubts.
I liked that the book is not plagued by endless thoughts of the characters, but moves quickly with natural dialogue and actions as well as some humor regarding a badger.
I read an advance copy; this is my voluntarily given honest opinion.
definitely surprising in the harshness of it
I enjoyed the characters. They were very likable
While I usually enjoy genre, the sex scenes in this book went a bit too far and didn’t really add to the story. Violence against women is not acceptable.
Book has a weak plot which existed only to have page after page of sex. Do not recommend.
