This is truly a masterpiece the wording and feelings along with the decriptions of this beautiful story will touch you in every way possible as Liam North still fights for his control and Samanthas protection at any cost against the betrayl that is lurking in every corner he is there. I loved how Samantha finds her voice she has grown into a very smart courageous woman and I loved her and how she figures out the puzzle pieces and takes action no longer that little girl anymore. This was so much more then sexy and steamy and it will keep you turning those pages not knowing what to expect and I loved it and I routed for them at every page.
This is the continuation of Liam and Samantha’s story. You must read book one first. Samantha is on tour and Liam is trying to keep her safe. These books are angsty goodness. Plenty of action and heat with a great story. Excellently plotted. You are along for a wild ride.
My heart really can’t take the torture anymore. I have been holding breath throughout Concerto by Skye Warren. My heart has stopped and started so many times that I can’t count. Concerto was an almost religious experience for me. The music flowed from the pages to my body. The devastating passion and heartbreaking emotions were too intense and just perfection.
This story is so much more than an age gap forbidden romance between the violin genius and the special force security specialist. This is a minefield of bloodstained secrets. Each chapter had a shocking surprise. Skye Warren transported me right in the middle of the competitive, melodramatic and talented classical music world. She introduced some amazing secondary characters with intricate details and intriguing personality. She weaved the mystery of Samantha’s past and her father along with the musical tour brilliantly. Liam and Samantha’s relationship evolved and progressed until the last chapter where mayhem and chaos ensues.
I loved how Samantha grew as a woman. She became stronger, more mature, more assertive and more devoted to Liam. Liam got new layers and complexities too. The author exposed his troubled, tortured and guilt ridden soul. Their bond has become something epic and extraordinary in this story. There is nothing simple and straightforward in this love. And then Skye Warren added element of adventure, conspiracy and thrilling mystery.
In true Skye Warren way, this story sucked me in and left an unforgettable imprint on my heart. I was completely focused on the story. It didn’t have a single dull moment. I have been taken through heaven and hell. A truly exhilarating , breathtaking and soulful romance.
Received ARC for Honest Review
This book was so good – I mean, it was, I need to sleep and am so tired, but I stayed up until 4 am to finish it good. You know in a trilogy, the second book is sometimes that wonderful creamy centre, big on decadence, high on gooey goodness, but without a lot of substance to fill you up? Yeah, the is NOT the case here, because this book is better than the first, this book doesn’t even feel like it is in a trilogy, it is a complete, hair-raising, edge-of-your-seat-sitting, make-you-squirm-in-all-the-right-ways, AMAZING!!!
Samantha matures in this story. She has been sheltered, really her whole life, and has gladly stood back and let her life happen. She grows in this book, she learns her power, she finds her strength, and, by the end, she knows her way, and while so many things aren’t clear, her way is with Liam
Liam also finally comes to some realizations in this story. He is strong, he has endured, and he must look after Samantha, no matter what. She isn’t his weakness though; she is what gives him purpose. Stubborn and unseeing for so much of the story, when clarity finally occurs to him by the end, you can almost hear the strength with these two in sync click into place
This book is dark, yeah some of the content is, but it feels like it is dark. Not in a mist, in the shadows, with the little bit of light there is, reflecting and seeming more than it is. Samantha and Liam give off heat that burns when they are together, but they don’t give off any light. A few rays shine on them for a few moments, and then they are snuffed out, covered, blocked. This doesn’t deter them though, they feel each other, seek out each other, and cannot be denied the other. They are not a doomed coupling; they are the couple that will take anyone who stands against them. Now that they know that, watch out!
p.s. What is up with Josh??? and when can I get more #intrigued
I was so excited to return to this world with Liam and Samantha. This series is something else. Not only do I love the musical aspects of the story but I love the facts at the start of each chapter. I’m always learning something new! What’s also fantastic about this story is how interconnected it is with the other stories written by Skye Warren. I love seeing characters pop up or even mentioned from the other series written in Tanglewood.
While Samantha begins to become a woman and stand up for herself, in many ways, she is still a young, sheltered naïve girl. But I think she is learning and growing more and more each day. Liam is trying to place distance between himself and Samantha but it isn’t working as well as he hoped. He is determined to keep her safe even if that means risking his own life. Josh shows some interesting sides to himself in this story. He riles up his brother in order to get a reaction for him and force his hand. But he is the one who recognises more than anyone the power Samantha has over Liam.
Dark shadows are lurking and no on can be completely trusted. More secrets are revealed from the past and the reader learns more about Liam’s tragic past. I think these words get a heartstring the most: “That’s what life is about,” he says, his eyes darkening to emerald. *“Trying to find a moment of happiness in the face of overwhelming human suffering.”* It’s like a kick in the gut because even though Liam said this, I don’t think he truly believes he deserves happiness and that’s heartbreaking.
While the danger remains present, the chemistry between Samantha and Liam is electric. Liam feels that he shouldn’t want her and yet he is powerless to stop the attraction. Samantha learns that Liam keeps himself in check and yet when they are intimate, that’s when he is the most open with her. The ending had me biting my nails and my heart pounding. I don’t know what the last book has in store but I hope my heart can survive it. I love this series and it has become one of my all time favourite.
Liam and Samantha’s story continues in Concerto getting to know even more about these wonderful characters and situations that are leaving us with so many questions and wondering who is on their side or who is trying to kill them..
Concerto for me is the rising action of the story, when everything is getting more complicated but at the same is clearing the path so we can get the answers and the conclusion we’ve been waiting for, there still so many things we don’t know that I’m sure we will finally have on the climax of this amazing series .. in Concerto we see a more mature Samantha, she embraces her femininity and submission even more, especially when she is around Liam, but at the same time she is stronger than ever confronting her demons and the danger that has been following them for years. Liam is stronger and more rootless he feels somehow more desperate to protect what belongs to him not caring whom he has to eliminate from his path..
Angst, doubts, twist and turns so many things that will keep you glued to this amazing story and characters, Skye Warren keeps us in suspense leaving us with an anxious feeling of wanting to get more.
I can’t wait to finally see what happens with Liam and Samantha!
Another great installment in the history of Liam and Samantha. Liam will do anything to protect her, but he cannot deny what he feels when he sees her. He should stay away from her, but he can’t.
Samantha is ready for the new part of her life, but she misses Liam. Even though he pushes her away she can’t deny the strong feelings she has for him. Now being on tour and meeting all of these new people she realizes more and more how strong her feelings for Liam are.
But there still is the danger that keeps falling Samantha wherever she goes. Liam and his brothers of North Security will do anything in their powers to protect her, but can they do it all.
I was so emotional when I finished this book it took me a while to get myself together. I thought Overture was good but Concerto was amazing. The way the story unfolds is a little like listening to a symphony with the music rising and falling building toward the crescendo. I am not quite sure who the concert master is and in true Skye Warren style there are so many twists and turns we will have to wait for Sonata to understand the full story. Personally, I can’t wait.
After that ending in Overture, I have been dying to read Concerto. I am not disappointed!!
This book was forbidden, sensual, dramatic, delicious, and secretive! Every page was a dramatic experience. I didn’t know what was going to happen or who was going to be doing it.
After that ending, I am going to patiently (not really) wait for the next book in the series. I NEED to know what happens. This series is one of my favorite of the year!! I can’t wait to see what happens next. I will be recommending this book to all of my book friends.
This is book two in the series, and a direct continuation of the story.
Now shes eighteen her title of child prodigy falls away. Shes officially an adult.
A new life awaits her, one of performances and touring, of finding her wings and using them to soar high.
She left, hes not contacted her though every second of the day hes wanted to, ached to.
A turn of events and hes back in her life, but why, and for how long?
Action, drama, and heartache laced with undertones of pain and desire. This book has it all!!
The suspence almost killed me! I wanted to know more, before I was truly ready to know, but oh my edge if your seat reading through and through!
Samantha the innocent. Her heart belongs to music and him. Her passion flows for them. She lives, breathes, and consumes all she can of both.
Liam the man full of guilt. For the past, the present and the future. His desire for her running hot, though he knows not how to love her.
I thoroughly enjoyed the progesssion of both her life in music and her need for him. His devotion to her and her safety no matter the cost.
My mind is playing out a thousand different scenarios for the next book! I cant wait to see which direction the story is taken next!
WOW!! What an emotional punch this book has.~ Lana, White Hot Reads
Concerto picks up right where it left off in Overture. Samantha is about to start the tour at The Grand in Tanglewood and realizes that she needs and wants Liam to be there. This book is about Samantha’s journey through her world. I don’t want to give away spoilers but this book is everything and I can’t wait to get the last book to see what happens.
Concerto by Skye Warren
Three things that go great together; music, love and sex! Concerto is the second book in this trilogy, and it is unbelievable. Overture is a must read to follow along in Concerto but… oh the story line is amazing. With great characters and a lot of action this book is a real page turner and is impossible to put down! Concerto is more than 5-stars worth of reading and I highly recommend it.
Samantha Brooks has left the North Securities compound to start a world tour that she has been hired to perform in. Being a child violin prodigy, Samantha is now a woman and is learning life the hard way. Having been sheltered for six years as the ward of Liam North, Samantha is now going to learn about big shows and contracts and people that might be out to kill her. Even with all the glamour and showmanship only thing that Samantha can think about is the man that she loves and left behind. Liam will do anything to keep Samantha safe even if it means separating from his brothers that he runs the security team with. When Samantha is put in danger once again Liam can no longer keep his distance and only watch her from afar. Her safety is about to be the concerto that will be played in front of hall full of people, now if only they can make it out alive will the music be able to live on.
Wow! This was an extraordinary second book in the North Security trilogy. From the very beginning the angst is like a music string being tightened as it’s being tuned. The angst ratcheting and the passion exploding. Concerto has all the elements of an extraordinary romantic suspense story. Simply gripping. A lot sinful!
Samantha is finally on her own. Preparing for her upcoming concert, she believes she will remain in the shadows. But with the ever present threat to her life and her new role in the concert, she will now be front and centre.
Although uncomfortable with this place, she would love to be front and centre to Liam North. Liam however is filled with demons and regret.
Will he ever see her as more than a way to punish himself for past mistakes?
Thinking this was the second book in a duet (my mistake) I was all set for the secrets to come out and for these two to find their way to each other once and for all. All I have to say is that I am so glad I was wrong and that this is not the end to their story. I need and want so much more from them and for them.
Liam is so sexy with his dominate ways, his charm and possessiveness. We get more insight into his psyche and how he truly feels. I can’t wait to dive even further into his character and past.
I found that Samantha’s character started to bloom in this instalment. Her character grew leaps and bounds both in strength and self confidence.
These two together is nothing short of a conflagration! So HOT! They are so different but fit each other so perfectly. His worldliness compared to her innocence. Not to mention the fact that it seems like he is emotionally stunted while she is emotionally mature.
I was not only compelled by Sam and Liam but the secondary characters as well. The complexities of both Josh and Harry. They both seem so tortured and I would absolutely ADORE getting stories for both of them.
Skye Warren is the pied piper and this series is her flute. Where she writes, I will blindly follow.
I received an ARC of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Second book from the trilogy, we start Concerto from Samantha step in Grand for her first performance.
Leaving her heart in Liam’s hands, Samantha know she could never leave him. And with the truth of why Liam became her guardian is now in the open, Samantha need Liam to see her as a woman and not this twelve year old girl he saved and feel guilty about.
With the succes of her first world performance, danger lurk. Evil from her past is coming to get her.
At the end, Samantha come to face choices. Her love to perform or Liam.
And Liam, he must choose. Loving her as a woman or being a martyr who love and would die to protect her.
With this second book, I get more suspence from the danger lurking for Samantha. Not just the complicity of Liam’s struggling his feeling for her.
I love how Samantha get all grow up. In the first book I see a glimpse of it when she fight so Liam would see her as a woman and not a child anymore. And succeded at the end, if I may add.
In this second book, I love her mature vurnerablity when she realise she needs more from Liam. Not just the hot chemistry between them. Not just his need to protect her. How she realise he can’t or won’t give him self to her and Samantha know, with her world might crumble, she have to let him go.
For me, that’s the greatest being a woman. She know when and how to fight same as when and how to let go although it hurt so much.
And Liam… I love you, but man, you got get your act together!
I’m gonna be a huge spoiler if I keep this review up. So I’m just gonna let that go with Liam
Over all, Concerto is a sexy taboo romance with a hint of suspence and action. And cliffy! Need the third and last book like…yesterday!
The second book in this trilogy is finally here! This begins with Samantha Brooks away on tour at The Grand playing Violin with a group of musicians. She’s not alone though as Liam sent his brother, Josh, to be her bodyguard after they received a threat on her life. Liam couldn’t stay away though and soon follows making sure she is protected. Can they keep her safe or will the past finally catch up with Liam and Samantha? Liam North might of gotten custody of her when she was twelve but his feelings for her grew as she became a woman. He will do anything to protect her. Who can you trust in this romantic suspense novel complete with twists, suspense and a connection between two people we all wish to find. “He was more than my guardian- he was the axis around which I spin.” I really enjoyed this book and Liam is just a perfect specimen of Alpha Hotness. Told in dual POV and ends in a cliffhanger.
