Emery’s obsession with Clarke started out totally innocent. Abandoned in an orphanage at a young age, the energy mogul she read about in all the glossy magazines would someday come rescue her. Her own, personal knight in shining armor. But waiting for the fantasy to become real got harder. So when a chance to get much closer to the man of her dreams presents itself, how can she resist? Clarke …
Clarke can’t explain the feeling that the woman of his dreams is just outside of his reach. A mysterious scent lingers in his bed sheets, her irresistible voice whispers in his hallways. When he finally lays eyes on Emery, his life is complete. And if his angel thinks she’s obsessed, she hasn’t seen anything yet.

A Daddy/Little Extravaganza in a Tiny Package…
Holy role play rapture my lovely romance readers! For those who embrace the Daddy fetish, my-o-my is this book for you as, “An Innocent Obsession” by Jessa Kane is a tiny sized literary power player that packs a gigantic obsession filled, Daddy/Little punch!
Here Kane presents the story of Ember and Clarke, Ember being a nineteen year old girl desperate to make something of herself in a world that leaves her all alone with no one but a kind orphanage mistress to look out for her. A girl carelessly tossed aside at a time she needed parental guidance and support the most. A need that has Ember craving care and support and leads her to superimpose her father fantasies onto the powerful Clarke Carroway. And the man himself Clarke, the high powered corporate CEO revolutionizing his given field and effortlessly ruling over his business domain with a methodical authority that feeds Ember’s fledgling infatuation with him into a full blown obsession that grows and grows over the years until it reaches an unimaginable boiling point. But not all is as it appears as Clarke is a man who despite his success, longs for something he doesn’t fully understand, a feeling of something just outside his reach that he can sense but cannot fully grasp or comprehend and when the truth of why he feels this phantom presence in his life fully comes to light, life as they both know it will never be the same.
It is a wonderfully written story that will captivate you from start to finish. And while Daddy play is not my personal kink, I definitely appreciate it and enjoy it fully from a voyeur’s perspective, because holy cow is there a lot of scrumptious, sexy detail to observe here.
My only real gripe with this book, it really should be longer and more fully fleshed out. There are so many aspects of Ember and Clarke’s connection that need expanding. I would have loved more detail about Clarke discovering his Daddy side. I would have loved to have seen more at the end, another epilogue at least showcasing things down the line beyond the very brief glimpse we are provided. Especially where a few of the ending chapter scenes in the orphanage and Clarke’s home are concerned, because as written you are thrust into these two situations without full context from all the characters involved resulting in you getting an uncomfortable feeling in your stomach, a few tiny moments of non-consent icky tinges where you can’t help but think to yourself, “this would not have happened this way, it would have brought police to their door…”. And while I understood the emotional point of these two scenes and their importance to the finalization of the story arc where Ember and Clarke are concerned, it was more over the top than perhaps it really should have been. The emotions the author is attempting to relay here requiring more context so that the scenes would have been better understood and been smoother and less sexual harass-esque overall. Sometimes a few extra paragraphs, even sentences really do mean the difference between sexy and awkwardly inappropriate. Still a great story though, one I thoroughly enjoyed.
Emery has been obsessed with Clarke since she saw him in a magazine and after working in the mailroom at his company she gets at seeing him up close. She doesn’t think Clarke will notice her but he does and he plans to keep her forever.
A bit too quick for me, it had a good setup to the story but got a little rushed and the chemistry was not as sizzling as i thought it would be.
I really liked Emery and Clarke. I liked that Clarke was a sort of constant in Emery’s life from afar. I also liked that when she started cleaning Clarke’s apartment she was a part of his life without being out there. I thought they were really great together and were exactly what the other needed.
Obsession can be a 2 way street. Emery is obsessed with Clarke and has been for 5 years even though they have never met in person. Clarke meets Emery and becomes just as obsessed with her. Finding out that she has been obsessed with him for 5 years is just a little bump in the road. Good read.
You all know stalkers and stalking don’t bother me (well, as long as they are fictional), so it is no surprise I wanted to read this. Look at this blurb…it was speaking to me:
And if his angel thinks she’s obsessed, she hasn’t seen anything yet.
This was a short, smutty read full of instalove, stalking, and over-the-top obsession. Add in a little daddy kink, and you’ve got a winner. Happily-ever-after with an adorable epilogue.
