REMO IS AN ACTUAL SOFTIE AT HEART, there I said it (well for people he cares about anyway)
The Camorra Capo is dark and brooding, but believe me it’s his way to protect himself from all the horrors in his past, and the way he loves his brothers, cares for Kiara is so so amazing I can’t. What I really loved in this one was Serafina’s fire, she wasn’t demure, or bitchy really, she was an absolute queen, Remo’s queen!! And what’s best is that there was no arranged marriage, (I enjoy that trope, quite a lot, but this change literally blew my mind) really really loved it!!
This book is everything
I had re-read it more than 50 times
And I can’t get enough
Fina and Remo is the perfect match
3/5
Remo is the capo of Las Vegas, he kidnaps Serafina (from Chicago: The Outfit) op her wedding day to Danilo. Remo keeps her to get what he wants from Chicago.
Remo does go the extra mile in his own twisted way. He can get what he wants from The Outfit a lot sooner then he likes to admit, but still isn’t ready to give up Serafina.
Serafina doesn’t really know what to think about Remo ,she knows he twisted but deep down she knows there is more to him than meets the eye. Even though Remo kidnaps Serafina he does nothing she doesn’t want when it comes to sex or less. He wants Serafina to come to him on her own.
When I first read this book I gave it 2/5 start I didn’t really like the plot all too much and thought it was a little to twisted. But I wanted to give it a re-read because I saw that everybody loved it. And I did, I did enjoy it a lot more the second time around. I grew to have this new appreciation for Serafina and Remo.
Oddly enough this book was the one I least looked forward to. While I hadn’t ever read this one, I did get a taste of the kidnapping in Fragile Longing, so I had an idea of what would happen toward the end but not how we get there. I was crazy because Remo and Serafina are everything!! Why is it that Cora can not create a couple that doesn’t become a favourite?! I can’t choose anymore! I think I didn’t want this book to happen because Remo is just so great being the villain, even though we do know he has a heart. He’s great single and I almost wanted to let that remain. On the other hand, I now see how great he is at the relationship thing.
I said this about the previous book, but what I like about Remo (and his family) are that they are progressive and down to earth. I love Luca’s clan, but they really are old school and the women follow such strict rules. I’m liking how free-ing the Camorra men are. Remo kidnaps Fina, but ultimately sets her free. It’s the classic story of the villain getting the heart, and it’s great. Despite his actions, I loved him and I loved how he never hurt her, even when he planned on it.
I wasn’t 100% loving Fina. She did the entire first half willingly yet still said she hated him, while the next second denying those claims to herself. Which is it? She thought he sent her away, but where in that, did it seem like that? If he never did what he did, she would hate him for not doing it at all. What’s a man supposed to do with that!? Then she only went back when he was there, so I wonder, would she at all? She didn’t even try to make connection with him, to gauge his reaction on the news. Overall, I only enjoyed Serafina about 50% of the time.
Other than her, I loved everything else about this book, including the well deserved cameo of Matteo and Romero, and all the snippets of Leona and Kiera.
Gah these books keep getting better!
Twisted Pride by Cora Reilly is a mafia romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Tor Thom and Charley Ongel. This is the third book in The Camorra Chronicles.
I love Cora’s books! They always pull me in and I can’t put them down. I loved the relationship between Remo and Serafina. Their relationship starts off dark and messy but by the end you can’t help but root for them. I loved seeing this side of Remo! I can’t wait to dive into the next book in the series Twisted Bonds so I can get more of Nino and Kiara’s story.
Tor and Charley did an amazing job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.
I would recommend this book if you like mafia romances or romantic suspense.
This was such an amazing book. I love these mafia books and Cora doesn’t outstanding job creating a story that will blow your mind. What a rollercoaster of a ride and I don’t want to get off!
Twisted Pride is the first I’ve read in the Camorra Chronicles, and it’s a little more of a game changer regarding the heroine. Remo, the Romeo H, is not one I would ever want to meet in real life or even a fictional one, but Serafina the Juliet makes some decisions that were bold for any woman especially a fictional character in this fictional universe. I was impressed with her spine especially after just reading a couple of the books in the Born in Blood series, Bound by Temptation and the depressing Bound by the Past. The women are so trapped.
One one hand I really hate these Mafia books especially the Born in Blood series, but I can’t stop reading them as the stories are compelling if depressing.
Harlequin HP’s and a lot of contemporary romances have depressing enough power exchanges with the same old tropes of a terminal virgin taming the big bad manwhore, pleasing her parents at all costs, throwing herself on a funeral pyre for worthless relatives. They live to serve. The heroine is only complete with a man in her life even if that man is a ratfink bastard. 2020 and women don’t seem to value themselves or each other.
Cora Reilly’s Born in Blood series takes the little women syndrome to an even bigger level. The heroines are all virgins, are married off in arranged marriages, and live sterile lives in crystal bubbles that revolve around the rampaging, murdering and drug dealing alpha heroes and the children. I’m a WASP from Texas and have no idea if this “Mafia” lifestyle is remotely credible. I hope not.
So, completely reading out of order, the Camorra Chronicles females seem a little feistier and a little more equal. So far.
I’m pushing the envelope and examine these books, and am hardly a bra burning feminist, but they definitely trigger something.
Okay, if you like dark mafia romance, you have to read Cora Reilly’s “The Camorra Chronicles” series. And if you want the darkest of them all, read “Twisted Pride”. Remo’s ruthlessness jumps off the page. I love how this author didn’t hold back and when there was blood on Remo’s hands, there really, REALLY was. Serafina is strong of mind. She needs to be, when dealing with an Alpha like Remo. I love the family meals and how hard the hero tries to not fall in love. Excellent read. #Bestof2020
The Camorra Chronicles are my new addiction! Remo and Serafina’s story was amazing, the plot unlike anything I’ve ever read.
I think you’ll agree with me when I tell you that their story starts when Remo Falcone, Capo of the Camorra in Los Angeles, kidnaps Serafina at her WEDDING DAY. I know, I know. Shocking. But let’s start from the beginning.
If you’ve read theBorn in Blood Mafia Chronicles, and more specifically the Bound by Duty novel, you’ve probable come across Dante Cavallaro
–Capo of the Chicago Outfit.
Well, Serafina Mione happens to be the daughter of Dante’s sister. And Remo’s rivalry with the Outfit makes her an easy target for the Capo of the Camorra. So he decides to hit Dante when he least expects it, his beautiful niece’s wedding.
Remo is as ruthless as it comes, infamous for his anger and impatience. Two virtues he totally needs when it comes to fiery Serafina.
The young woman is unlike anyone Remo’s ever met, such a fierce personality. She’s determined to fight, and doesn’t back down to Remo’s game of power. Despite being his prisoner, Serafina is treated with more respect than expected, and she soon finds herself thinking about her devilishly handsome kidnapper, Remo Falcone. He wakes something in her she soon finds impossible to control.
Remo doesn’t even try to hide his lust for the angel whose wings she thinks he cut. A girl like her can’t be held in captivity. And, as she is about to learn later, she’d never been more free in her life than during her captivity.
Their passionate affair soon comes to an end, when Remo releases her and brings her to her family. The Capo of the Camorra got everything he wanted from the enemy, but why does leaving Serafina feel like the ultimate loss?
‘ “You are mine, Angel. Body and soul,” he rasped. And God help me, he spoke the truth.’
Despite his instincts to keep her with him forever, he knows that his angel needs to come back to him by her own free will this time.
When Dante seeks revenge from Remo Falcone for what he did to his niece, hell breaks loose. Serafina’s life was forever changed since her time with Remo. Now she has an impossible choice to make. Protect the ones she loves the most, or stay loyal to the Outfit?
Where do i start ???? Where do i start ??? I’m overwhelmed !!
Falcone Brothers are my new obsession And Remo is my favorite one !! Remo Falcone is darkness, chaos and pure untamed rage, yet he’s also fiercely loyal and protective with his family
He’s a beautiful contradiction: violence and tenderness in one lethal body …. And Serafina is his perfect match: brave enough to face the monster and love him despite everything.
The story is a crescendo of emotions, full of action, passion and sweet in-a-twisted-way family moments.
Putting down the book, or better the series, is nearly impossible.
MUST READ !!
Wow! One of the most emotional and thrilling books by Cora Reilly. I loved it!
I really enjoyed this books. Serafina is a strong girl. I love her way of thinking, her attitude and how brave she is regarding almost every aspect of her life. I also liked how we see a different side of Remo. Not only how cruel he can be but also what he’s willing to sacrifice for the ones he really cares about.
As always, we have very steamy scenes, fights, hard decisions, family, honor, friendship,… and an awesome plot with wonderful characters.
Great reading
JHGFDDFJKKOKHFFERR – THIS IS STATE OF MY MIND, and I’m not cappabale to write anything decend.
ANY words could describe my actuall feelings besides that this characters became almost like a family to me.
I cannot leave this world. I cannot live outside this book. I’M NOT READY for reality around. I want to live for Camorra. I want to breath Camorra. I want Remo and Fina only for me, myself and I…

TWISTED PRIDE
I love Cora Reilly’s mafia men. I love the violence and the romance. Remo is no exception. He is dangerous, insane, scary, dark and violent. He show no mercy, no matter how much you beg. He loves his family fiercely and is loyal and protective to everyone he consider family. Remo’s relationship with his brothers is soul deep love. They can disagree and fight, but in the end, they always have each other’s back.
Everyone thought Remo was uncapable of loving a woman. That is until he abduct Serafina on her wedding day. Serafina was not what Remo was expecting. Her strength surprise him. I love the chemistry between Remo and Fina. I never doubted his love for her. I understood her pain and confusion falling in love with her family’s enemy.
This book is wild and crazy. Remo and Serafina are both amazing. The writing is beautiful. This series is very intense, with very complex characters. And I always love seeing previous characters and couples.
4.5 Stars!!
Remo was definitely a roller coaster of emotions. I never imagined that this dark and dangerous man would fall in love with an Angel
