The group of Novellas is definitely worth getting.
The 1st story deals with an individual who has confessed to a murder asking C.T. to find out who the real killer was. C.T. originally refused the case, but later on he decided that he would take it. The entire case that the police had on him was that he knew facts that only the killer should know. C.T. followed what little clues that were available, and finally figured out who the killer was. He brought the information to the police, but they just shot him down. Once he was able to convince his cousin, Rich, did the case get solved.
The 2nd story is about C.T. helping his cousin find out who killed a Army veteran that Rich kne. The death was ruled initially as a suicide, but Rich was sure that his friend didn’t kill himself. This again is a case where little information is known, but C.T. using his computer skills, once again is able to develop a solution. Following C.T.’s instinct and with assistance from State Police, they are able to prove that the friend was murdered and not a suicide.
The 3rd story is one where a grandmother of 2 murder victims comes to C.T. asking for his help. The people killed were her grandson and daughter. The police theory was that the killing was gang related. To make things worse, there was an second killing which also involved a mother and son also believed to be a gang shooting. C.T. again using skills that he keeps getting better at is able to suggest a motive for the killing. Once again, the police are hesitant to accept his thought. Once again he is proved right.
To find out how C.T. was able to figure these cases out while the police couldn’t, then you must read this collection. You won’t be disappointed.
No spoilers. Just get every book by Tom Fowler. You will enjoy it and be telling all your friends. The novella collection makes it easy to read a whole story because you won’t want to put it down! C.T. and Rich are as different as can be but they have the same kind of heart. The stories are all three interesting and you can never predict how they will end.

C.T. is certainly an unusual detective, he is vain, an expert hacker and has very rich parents who want him to work for his living. When he settles on being a private investigator, his parents pay him, so that his clients don’t need to and so he can help those who can’t normally afford a private detective.
This collection contains three novellas which show his talents at solving mysteries, not always totally legally!
The plots of all three novellas are clever and original and the author is very good at fleshing out his characters, making them very readable and enjoyable.

This set has 3 different novellas. CT tries to come across as uncaring, however his real self shows through. He must help those who are in need as a PI under his parents charity. He is paid for each case he handles. CT finds each bit of trouble on the street but he can handle himself and still solve the case. I really enjoy this series.
CT Ferguson is a different kind of PI. He comes in the industry after putting his trust fund to work trying to fight for independence in the media in Taiwan. A few weeks in custody of the Chinese police have returned him to the US with a mind still willing to try to help the under dog, but a bit shaken as to how.
He has computer and hacker skills, in a big way. His well to do parents say if he puts his skills to work helping people that need help, they will fill up his piggy bank again.
So he is a good guy, maybe more than a bit spoiled, who got a dose of some reality with the Chinese police.
He wants to help people who need it – but discovers a lot of what people want help with is more than a bit dangerous to his health.
He cares a lot, but is not big on following the rules.
Luckily, he has a cousin in the police force who can sometimes be counted on to back him up, or bail him out. Cousin Rich is a veteran, who has friends who have not come away from their time in the service unscathed.
Will rule follower Rich stick to coloring within the lines when one of his own takes a lethal hit, and it feels more like conspiracy and cover up than suicide? Is a charity devoted to veterans really a help, or a money pit that uses already vulnerable folks?
We get a chance to experience CT growing up a bit, in terms of maybe having a grown up relationship, maybe trying to do right and taking some breaks and bruises for a few good causes.
And maybe CT is still coloring outside the lines, but is a little more clear about some of the better motivations to do so.
An awesome collection – loved reading it on Kindle Unlimited – and still looking forward to the next book!
