An original concept for me, each chapter written by a different author, each in a different character point of view. It’s dark and each chapter adds another layer of mayhem and depravity, connecting the characters and building a perfect storm of a story. A brilliant showcase for all the authors involved which has made me definitely want to one click other stories by them.
What an incredible dark, depraved, twisted, mess with your mind set of stories. All interconnected but each seperate chapter written by a seperate author flows seamlessly into the story as a whole. Written by some of the best authors in this genre. While all the authors deliver some top notch work some of my favorites are:
The Perfect Wife by Zoe Blake
All is not what it seems and neither are the characters in this tragic chapter that illistrates a pefectly constructed, evil mind f*ck and the tragic outcome.
The Connoisseur by Addison Cain
A delusional, egotistical, homicidal stalker is set on claiming the woman of his fantasies and nothing will stop him. A woman unaware of what true evil stalks her under the guise of civility and propriety.
Chilling Seduction by Jane Henry
A diabolical duo who use and abuse each other to fufill their darkest fantasies. But this partnership is not what it seems and when the truth comes to light……well till death do they part. Sometimes lust survives death.
Be sure to check out the samples of other works by these authors at the back of the book. They will give you an idea of the quality of the other work they have written. You’re in for a treat!
This review is on the story of the Connoisseur by A. Cain. This was a dark yet intriguing page turner. It keeps you so entranced, that you cant wait to see what happens. It has a dark sexual element that makes you ask yourself WTF did I just read?? This story is a must read it dosed not disappoint.
Huh…well this was a totally f’ed up. I don’t think I have ever read anything like this before. It was over the top sick, perverted and I couldn’t stop reading it and that leaves me with many questions about myself. Basically, if the movie Traffic and the Netflix documentary about Ted Bundy had a love child they would call it Die, My Love.
Die, My Love is a short story with each chapter written by a different author from the very darkest part of the world of dark romance. This is not a romance, well it kind of is, if you are 50 shades of abso-f’ing-lutely crazy (cough…Jack and Bradly…cough). Each chapter is a story in itself but is connected to all the other chapters so you can’t just read the chapter by your favorite author, you need to read the whole thing. The entire book takes place over one day, Valentines Day.
Die, My Love is a total mind f’k and you have to pay attention because it can become very confusing with the different characters. Addison Cain, a personal favorite of mine, is the author of chapter 2, The Connoisseur.
Beware, this is dark and twisted but very will written and executed. Now, I need to go read something with unicorns and puppy dogs in it.
Note, this is an anthology, where the stories are interconnected. Also, as expected the stories are twisted & dark. This may have been published on Valentines Day, but don’t expect a romance…expect plot twists & surprise endings. The one I read first was the Connoisseur by Addison Cain (my go-to author) & it was the perfect stalker story with a criminally insane ending. 😮 I’m not a huge fan of horror stories, but Cain always has me coming back for more.
A jaw “all the way to the floor” dropping anthology that was a treat to read on Valentine’s Day.
Perfect title! Short chapters each tells a tiny bit of a whole, dark story. Saying that there are twists and turns does not even begin to describe the evil, the horror that you will find in these pages. And while there are glimpses of romance, don’t be fooled. There was a lot of page turning as the plot twists kept coming. Each chapter was cleverly written to culminate in a surprise ending. Beautifully executed by these very talented authors-only a couple were new to me, and I’ll certainly be following their work.
Sometimes Valentine’s Day Sucks
This book was written by several authors. The format allows for the writer go all out with their imagination and boy they really did go all out! Each “chapter” is written by a different author. Each chapter is different but connected thus building the story. It starts with one evil man and one woman. And then the poop hits the fan. I would like to see this man rot in hell. The female characters are either, sane, insane and thick-headed. It is hard to believe the source of all the pain, suffering and emotional agony or plain stupid.
So twisted! I loved the style of writing. You have 7 authors each contributing to the plot of this story. Gave me Muder on the Orient Express vibes just more gory and sexy haha. Definitely a dark horror romance that will keep you guessing as to why Valentine’s Day triggered everyone lol. The ending was a great surprise but my favorite story was definitely “The Connoisseur.” Each story represents its author well and was wonderfully written. Crazy fun read but not for the faint of heart.
The Perfect Wife by Zoe Blake. Perfect makes crazy, as it’s impossible to make everything perfect in a broken world. And she might have gotten a little help to crazy part.
The Connoisseur by Addison Cain. This is upgraded stalking for the twisted. It’s interesting how drawn you can get to a controlling, manipulative, arrogant and still quite refined man. Just be careful, you don’t know who will die next.
Becoming by Celia Aaron. When you torment someone long enough, sometimes they will rise from ashes stronger than before and ready to get even.
My Bloody Valentine by SJ Cole. I don’t know who’s more fucked up. The doctor or the nurse.
Fool For Love by Celia Sykes. Sometimes the sinners actually get what they deserve.
Chilling Seduction by Jane Henry. It’s really hard resist, if you are already dead.
All Wrapped Up In A Bow by Ashleigh Giannoccaro. Normally you would say hell has no fury as a woman scorned, but in this story it more like never to cheat on your psychotic husband.
Each story is quite gruesome, but they are well written and hard to let go. I love that all the stories are interconnected into a really horrifying Valentine’s Day.
Each chapter in this anthology is by a different author, with the stories being linked by various characters. At first I was very excited to read this. After the first couple of chapters, though, things just seemed to go a little sideways. The stories were dark and twisted to be sure, but it became difficult to follow what characters were doing what, sending me flipping back to see what had happened in the previous chapter to determine how they were even linked. Other characters were suddenly thrown into the mix and I had no idea how they fit in the moment. Some of the stories felt unfinished in a way, as if there was a lot more that could, or should, be happening, but maybe hadn’t been included for some reason. Willing to say that maybe this just wasn’t my cup of tea, so suggest others give it a try and make their own judgments.
Normally I’m not a big fan of the more horror-centric romantic works, but this book was the exception. I love that the stories all related to each other and I honestly had no idea what was going to happen next. It was a twisted ride through the mind of these authors and I would happily ride that ride again.
