I’m really glad I found this series. It has just the right amount of romance with plenty of mystery.
Molly’s profession of being a newspaper editor gives her the advantage of being able to interview so many suspects under the ruse of writing an article or fact-checking. Her romance with Sam keeps things interesting in that he keeps trying to keep her safe, very lovingly, and she keeps finding ways to get into trouble. Sam is the perfect knight in shining armor.
As with most cozy mysteries, you can read this as a standalone but it is much better if you read in order.
I received a complimentary copy from the publisher, Kensington, through NetGalley. Any and all opinions expressed in the above review are entirely my own.

Review:
The writing style flows smoothly and it defines the characters very clearly by their actions and words. The author is very talented in her descriptive writing and through much of the book I felt like I was right there in Britton Bay, watching all the action taking place and listening in on conversations.
The mystery was well plotted and carried on well throughout the book. There were enough clues to sift through and suspects to consider and I was surprised at who the culprit turned out to be.
The characters are well rounded and well developed. I enjoyed getting to spend time with Molly and her family and friends. Molly is a good reporter and she loves to look for clues and solve mysteries. But she is getting tired of having to find a killer, there are just too many murders in Britton Bay.
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a well crafted cozy mystery. This whole series is really good and well worth reading.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book provided by the publisher, Kensington Books, and NetGalley, which I greatly appreciate.
Deadly Ride is the 3rd instalment in the Britton Bay Mystery series by Jody Holford. I found it to be as enjoyable and entertaining as the previous two. I was happy to be transported back to Britton Bay on the Oregon coast.

Jody is very good at writing a complete story in this case the mystery as well as the romance between Sam and Molly. The main set of characters were just as fabulous as in the previous books, we learned more about Sarah, Chris, and were introduced to another homeless person which I have a feeling will tie into the next instalment.
The mystery was well written and had plenty of suspects who wanted the victim dead. I did suspect the killer early on but there were a few red herrings so I wasnt 100% sure until close to the end when the final piece fell into place.
I highly recommend this cozy mystery series to all my friends who love a cozy with romance thrown in.

I loved Deadly Ride! The romance between Molly and Sam held me as much as the mystery, and time spent with most of the characters was time spent with friend. I adore them! While I do not require romance in a cozy mystery, if it is there, I want it to be well done and Judy Holford’s experience as a romance writer transitions well to this series; the sweet warmth of the first chapter alone is worth the price of the book!
I requested and receive an ARC of Deadly Ride via NetGalley. I loved the first two books and have been shouting about them since I read the first book and I just couldn’t wait to see why my old friends were up to even though I had already pre-ordered this third book in the series. I am sure you will be hearing from about the next book before long; I can’t wait!

Molly Owens, editor of the Britton Bay Bulletin, is covering the Classic Car Crawl sponsored by her boyfriend, Sam Alderich, when one of the founders of the event is found dead at the end of the first day! Lots of suspects – current wife, ex-wife, business partner, drivers – are in the mix, and Ms. Holford kept me guessing. Nice cozy with a hint of romance, I really enjoyed Deadly Ride, the third cozy in the Britton Bay series – it’s just as good as the previous two books in the series and I absolutely recommend it!
Deadly Ride is a fabulous read. I always love coming back to Britton Bay and seeing what trouble Molly finds herself in next. Molly is back with her swoon-worthy boyfriend Sam and all their friends for this one. If you love the who did it mysteries then you are just going to love solving this one along side of Molly and the rest of Britton Bay. It seems that trouble found Molly again and you are just in for a ride with this one. Sam as always is so loving and supportive of Molly. I love them so much together and you will love them even more after reading Deadly Ride. With every Britton Bay book we get a more progression of Molly and Sam’s relationship and it is so heartwarming to watch them grow closer. I’m so in love with this series and Deadly Ride just adds to it. If you love a good mystery to solve one click this one right here.
Enjoyed this cozy mystery! this is the third book in this series and the characters are really fun. Molly Owens is a Newspaper editor that is covering a story for a sick reporter at a Antique car show put on by her boyfriend Sam when a Co Founder is found dead she must put all she can inot finding who dunit and why while staying safe. Plenty of fun and adventure in this one a fast read that kept my attention. Really enjoyed.
I so enjoy the Britton Bay series: the small, oceanside town, the wonderful characters like Molly, Katherine, Jill, and Sam, and of course, the well-written mysteries! In Deadly Ride, Sam organizes for a touring car show to make a stop in town and things don’t go quite as planned. Without giving too much away, someone connected to the car show is found dead by unnatural causes and there is no shortage of suspects, motives, and questionable alibis. Molly can’t turn off the investigative reporter in her and delves more deeply into the car show participants’ lives than a newspaper editor reasonably should. That can’t possibly end badly, can it? The side storylines of Sarah’s art studio and Molly & Sam’s sweet, developing relationship and the everyday activities of the characters make for a well-rounded story. I’m hoping this series continues for awhile!
I received an advance copy of this book. This review contains my honest thoughts and opinions.
I’m a little surprised at how quickly this has become a favorite series for me. It is more a hybrid between a cozy mystery and romance (at least in my opinion) because the romance and mysteries are both prominent in each story. I like Molly’s character and it felt like she is becoming more comfortable and settled in this book. She has surrounded herself with a really good set of friends and her romance with Sam is progressing well. She is a bit impetuous and that can get her into some serious situations some times. I like how Sam recognizes that she gets herself into these situations because she has a really good heart. He doesn’t want to change her, he just wants her to recognize that she has a lot of people who care for her and worry about her. The mystery was well done. There were plenty of suspects to choose from and I thought the author did a good job of giving them each a plausible motive for murder. While the killer was not a total surprise, this person also wasn’t at the top of my list either. I really enjoyed this book and have enjoyed the series to date.
I voluntarily read a digital ARC provided to me by the publisher through Netgalley.
Deadly Ride by Jody Holford is the third book in Britton Bay cozy mystery series and was another entertaining read.
Sam, Molly’s boyfriend, is hosting a Classic Car Crawl in Britton Bay. Molly’s representing the newspaper as a journalist as they are short staffed. Everything goes well on the first day until that night they find the body of one of the original founders of this car tour dead. The plot is quickly paced, there are only a few suspects and the clues and red herrings kept me completely in the dark until the reveal. Ms. Holford’s descriptive writing makes me feel right at home in Britton Bay; and I’ve enjoyed getting to know all of the characters who are now friends and co-workers of Molly. Molly and Sam’s relationship did take up more of the story than it had in previous books but did not detract from the mystery itself.

I can’t get over how much I love this book! This was already one of my favourite cozy mystery series, but this installment has made me love it even more. I love how Molly is settling into her new home of Britton Bay and becoming part of the town. I particularly enjoyed her relationship with her boyfriend, Sam, and her connections with her new friends. Add to that an intriguing mystery and this book has everything I could want in a cozy. I can’t wait to read more books in this series!
This is a fun mystery in the Britton Bay Mystery series. Set in a charming small town, with delightful characters, Molly, editor of the local newspaper, finds herself right in the middle of helping solve the mystery of a murder. These books are fun to read, and I look forward to reading more books in the series.
Loved this book and could hardly put it down! If you like a mystery with a bit of sweet romance, I highly recommend this delightful series. The Car Crawl comes to town and Sam is in charge. It has always been a dream for him to host this event with his love of cars. One of the hosts of the event turns out to be a bit of a womanizer and not so nice. When Sam and Molly find the man dead in his car after the one night of the event, there are several suspects. The man’s business partner/co-host, the man’s current wife, the man’s ex-wife, and the current wife’s former boyfriend/current affair. Molly keeps putting herself in danger, much to Sam’s dismay. I love the relationship between Sam and Molly and the characters are delightful. It was hard to figure out the killer in this book, which made it very intriguing. I can’t wait to see what’s next!
Just started reading this new series and love it.
Pretty good who done it mystery filled with lots of twists and turns. Molly is the ever present reporter who seems to get herself into trouble despite the town Sheriff, Chris, telling her to stick to her day job and leave the police work to him. Sam is the local car repair shop owner who is in a relationship with Molly. He loves cars, and brings a car show to the small town of Britton Bay Oregon, but that’s when the mystery starts and things start happening. I loved the small town feel of this story, enjoyed the chemistry between Molly and Sam, although Molly got a bit irritating when it came to her doubting her relationship with Sam, loved the twists and turns the story took on who done it, gotta admit I changed three times and still got it wrong! Overall a pretty good story, kept my interest, would highly recommend it.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book.
Well written.
I enjoyed Deadly Ride, a cozy mystery set in a small seaside town in Oregon. This is the first book I’ve read in this series but I had no trouble jumping in here with the established characters and community. The main characters’ romance plotline is very strong, about as substantial as the mystery; I felt it worked well but I understand some people don’t enjoy mixing romance with their mystery. I recommend Deadly Ride to anyone who enjoys cozy mysteries with strong romance plotlines.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC. The opinions in this review are honest and my own. #DeadlyRide #mystery #cozymystery
This is the third book in this enjoyable cozy series and can be read as a stand alone. If you like romance in equal parts with your mystery then this may be just the series for you. Molly and Sam are building their relationship along with the occasional murder to investigate. Molly is the editor in chief of the Britton Bay Bulletin, the local paper in Britton Bay, Oregon. It’s a small coastal town I would love to spend time in but maybe not when a murder occurs. Her boyfriend, sam, owns an auto body shop and is hosting a traveling classic car event. the cars are great but along with the cars comes a group of people who have a whole lot of issues and it boils over into the murder of one of the owners of the classic car collection. It’s no surprise that he gets bumped off, he’s a nasty lecherous piece of work. He’s a senior citizen with an ex-wife and his current wife is only old enough to be his very young daughter. Molly crosses paths with him because the reporter assigned to the event gets sick and Molly takes over the interviews. when she encounters the soon to be corpse, he gives her the creeps when he can’t keep his hands to himself and his comments are very inappropriate.
Sam is the one to find the body, dead in one of the cars. His best friend is the one who investigates the case and they both know that, no matter how much they ask Molly to stay clear of the case, it will have no effect. Molly is a reporter and reporters ask questions and investigate stories. The list of suspects will keep her very busy and hopefully not make her the focus of a killer who may just want her silenced.
I enjoyed the cast of local characters and the setting. The mystery was well crafted and had enough twists and turns to keep me wondering if I was going to pick the killer out of the list. Each book in the series gets better than the previous entry and I was a fan from the first book. No slump in writing for this series. It’s a nice blend of romance and homicide and I’ll be looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
