A second chance romance, that is filled with suspense and twists that keep you reading.
Kelsey and Beck met when they were 16 and 17 years old. Beck’s father was the chief of the police and Kelsey’s parents own the Rockport Beach Inn. They two of them spent two years falling in love and being the town gossip because of their romance. However, Beck wants more than the small town can give him and decides to move to Boston. The only problem is Kelsey can’t leave Rockport, she eventually becomes to own of the inn while Beck becomes a detective in Boston.
Ten years go by however, the memory and love that they shared is always on their minds. Beck is in the middle of an investigation and gets a call from his brother that brings him home to Rockport. He is needed to help track down a stalker that is harassing Kelsey.
Kelsey has done an amazing job with building up the inn. She is trying to live a life that is as normal as she can with a stalker that will not leave her alone. She knows that Finn is doing all he can to protect her but knows that he needs help. In comes Beck to the rescue.
When Beck arrives it bring back all the memories of a young love. Beck and Kelsey have immediate sparks that reignite. However, Kelsey knows that she must protect her heart because she is sure Beck will leave her again and that she will not survive a second time.
Will their love overcome all the past lost? Will Beck be able to save Kelsey from her stalker?
Who are Beck and Kelsey? Why do we start out the book with a look back at 10 years ago? When we come to present day, who is Jason? What do we learn very quickly about all of them? Who is Finn? What is his relationship to Beck and Kelsey? What do Beck, Kelsey, and Finn each do for a living? Who is Ryan? Why does he show up in Rockport? What happens when he meets Erin? What I learned about Jason was a bit of a shock! See what had me on the edge through most of the book! I had to pull out my tissues at the end! Enjoy!

This was my first Claire Raye book. It was a great second chance romance for Beck & Kelsey. It was intriguing to watch them try to fight their love (that never died) and protect themselves from the hurt. There was quite a bit of suspenseful action that kept the story moving until the very end. I loved how tight knit the community of Rockport was. Although the book felt somewhat choppy at times it was overall very enjoyable.
’m a big fan of second chance romances, so this one was right up my alley. Beck and Kelsey are young loves whose love gets put on hold when Beck decides he wants more from life than their small town of Rockport Beach. But when danger comes for Kelsey, Beck comes back – and their story continues. If you’re looking for a story with lots of dirty talk, lots of steamy scenes, and a suspenseful undertone that will keep you wanting to find out what happens next, this book is definitely for you. I enjoyed the storyline and the main characters, and I can’t wait to see what happens in the next books.
This was my first Claire Raye book but definitely won’t be my last! Beck and Kelsey were high school sweethearts that broke up when one wanted to leave their small town for the big city and the other wanted to stay due to responsibilities. Ten years later, they are living separate lives and haven’t spoken to each other, yet think of each other often. When it gets back to Beck that Kelsey is being stalked by her ex-boyfriend, he takes it as his chance to get his girl back, since his feelings haven’t changed over time. While Kelsey still has feelings for Beck, when he decides to come back into her life she is anything but happy, but as the stalking escalates, she realizes there’s nobody else she’d rather have protect her. The chemistry between the two are explosive off the pages, and the added element of suspense from the stalker takes this book to the next level! I can’t wait to see what else Claire has in store for this series!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
4 stars!!
This is book one of the “Rockport Beach” series. This is the first book so I am not sure how the storyline flows with the next books but I am almost certain this can be read as a stand alone.
Book One is about Beck and Kelsey. These two fell in love in their younger years but ended up parting ways but not falling out of love. Fast forward 10 years later, one crazy stalker ends up bringing these two back together..
I love their relationship. Kelsey and Beck are perfect. Though if they were so in love I wasn’t sure how they didn’t phone or even drive to see each other seeing as they were only an hour way. That drove me a little nuts. And also how easily she forgave him. But past all that I loved it.
I know the next book is Ryan and Erin and I seem to have them figured out. I am super curious about Finn!!!
This book was very well written and flowed quite effortlessly. This small town of Rockport is beautiful and makes me want to live there. This book had edge, charm, love, humor, tragedy, twists, sexy and so much more..
**I received this book as a review copy and in return I have my honest review**
Claire Raye are new to me authors and I am completely hooked on their stories.
Beck left Rockport Beach ten years ago, leaving behind the girl he loved more than anything and his family. Kelsey Walters was completely heartbroken when Beck left, but ten years later she finds herself with a stalker and her ex lover and the man she is still in love with back in her life.
This book had everything. It is a small town romance, a second chance romance, drama, suspense, and LOADS of steaminess!! I was completely hooked and wanted to know about Beck and Kelsey’s relationship, but also with all the drama from her stalker.
Despite not seeing each other for ten years the chemistry between Beck and Kels never seemed to lose steam. Kelsey was hurt and left broken hearted in the past, so she was afraid to get close to him again, especially knowing that he had a job back in Boston that he would eventually go back to.
I loved Beck and Kelsey, but I also loved their two best friends, Erin and Ryan and I CANNOT WAIT for their story!
This is a MUST READ book and one I’d highly recommend to anyone. Though it is the first in a series, it can be read as a complete standalone.
**I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review**
This is the first book I’ve read from Claire Raye and it definitely will not be the last! I was so captivated by the story that I hated putting it down, I just wanted to inhale every word of this book. This story was filled with intrigue, suspense, twists, turns and a chemistry that is so explosive you’ll be fanning yourself from the heat. Prepare to be seduced and memorized by one amazing read.
Making Home with You is the 3rd book book in the Rockport Beach Series and I was so excited for Finn to finally get his own story!
I have fallen in love with this series and these characters and this book did not disappoint. We got a little glimpse into this story at the end of book 2 and I have been dying to get my hands on it ever since. Full of drama, a little suspense and some edge of the seat moments I was hooked from the very first page.
As the handsome Chief of police, Finn is the most eligible bachelor in town and wanted by every woman. The problems is that he has no desire to settle down with any of them and is just out looking for a good time. Everything changes when he meets Sarah and his whole world is turned upside down.
With amazing chemistry right from the start the two of them begin an unexpected relationship. The problem is that Sarah isn’t just any random girl and both Finn and Sarah are worried about what her brother will think of the two of them being together.
Things also begin getting serious when Sarah starts dealing with some serious harassment issues at her new job and Finn has to deal with some unwanted attention of his own. With neither one wanting to be a burden to the other one, they both begin keeping secrets from each other.
This book had me feeling so many emotions and had me wanting to get my hands on the both of them to shake some sense into them more than once. I couldn’t wait to find out what was going to happen next and how everything was going to turn out.
This is a must read book for sure! by Alisa

Where do I begin with this review…… I LOVED LOVED LOVED this story. After reading it I had to sit and digest what I just read because I was in need of a tall glass of water for the steaminess and the suspense of this story.
Beck and Kelsey are high school sweethearts that were together and at the end of high school the separated because they didn’t know what to do with their lives. Fast forward ten years and Kelsey is the owner of an inn and Beck is a detective. Their lives could not be more different but when Finn Beck’s older brother finds out that Kelsey is in trouble and needs help he goes to his brother and tells him everything that is going on.
Beck’s blood boils because his job is to serve and protect but he loves Kelsey and has never stopped loving her. So when he finds out she is being stalked by her ex and is in danger he goes right to the rescue only this time he is determined to win back his one true love that he let get away.
Kelsey still loves Beck and she is happy that he is the one to protect her but she is scared of getting her heart hurt again and she wants to take it slow but the chemistry between them is like lightening in a storm and she gives in and the two are combustible together. But they still have that threat to Kelsey hanging over their head and Beck is determined to put the bad guy away and have his HEA.
Turns out home really is where the heart is!
Young love can be powerful. Sometimes it is so powerful that it lasts a lifetime. Kelsey and Beck had that kind of love once. Small town living was never what Beck wanted for himself. Kelsey found small town life endearing. When Beck decided to leave for the big city of Boston he asked Kelsey to go with him, but when she said she couldn’t go he left and never looked back.
Ten years later both Beck and Kelsey feel as if they are missing a part of themselves. Neither one wants to admit it is each other that they miss. That if they were to be honest with themselves, they still love one another even after all this time apart. When Kelsey finds herself in danger it becomes quickly apparent that the only person who can truly protect her is Beck. Will he be able to stop the man who is stalking her before it is too late?
The ties that bind is central to this story and it tied me up in knots in the best of ways. When Beck left Rockport behind, he left his girl heartbroken and lonely. He also left his father and brother behind. Ten years is a long time to go without keeping in touch, and this story beautifully weaves through those moments of resentment, hurt, fear and unconditional love. The fight between the future you thought you wanted and the present you cannot live without. I love the passion between Kelsey & Becks, as well as the love between Becks and his family. Their time together leaves so many unknowns. Can Kelsey forgive Becks for leaving her and tearing her heart and world apart? Is her love strong enough to give in to what she feels and allow them a second chance at forever? What if he just leaves again, could she survive losing him again?
While they are trying to keep Kelsey safe, all their old feelings come flooding in as if no time had passed at all. When Becks is faced with losing Kelsey forever he learns some hard truths about himself, small towns, and the power of real love.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good read. This book is deeply satisfying on many levels and will not disappoint.
I was able to finish this book and loved the epilogue, however it was completely ruined, with pages upon pages of filthy sex scenes. Why some of you authors find it necessary to produce smut I do not know. I bet I skipped 100 pages to get away from it.
