This series just gets better and better and I love that there is a different theme for each month. Mr March is the story of Luke and Mia. Luke’s best friend and Mia’s husband Troy is killed in action, and Luke promises to always take care of Mia and her newborn son Joe.
Luke takes this responsibility very seriously pretty much giving up his own life to be there for Mia whenever she needs her. After two years he realises that he has fallen in love with her but will never let her know because he feels it would be disloyal to his best friend. After Mia has a scare with an intruder and calls Luke in the middle of the night they suddenly find themselves kissing and suddenly things have changed between them.
Afterwards they have feelings of awkwardness and embarrassment as they deal with their growing feelings towards each other. They both have so much guilt and feel that they are betraying a husband and best friend who they both loved. At the same time they have to deal with the nastiness and disapproval of Troy’s parents and brother.
Nicole writes this story with an amazing amount of sensitivity as she deals with a difficult subject. Mia is left a widow with a young child at a very early age but people around her seem to prefer her to be alone rather trying to move on and be happy with someone else. Mia has to learn that she has to do what is right for her and not care what other people think, her priorities are herself and her child. Luke is amazing as her best friend and supporter, such a strong and loving character who comes across as a kind and cuddly teddy bear who we would all like to have on our side.
This is a beautifully written story but you do need a box of kleenex nearby as it can make you a little weepy. Well done Nicole again.
Oh man with each month I get a better and better book that I can’t put down and I don’t want to put down. This month Mr March is Luke and ex-army soldier and Mia the widow of his best friend he lost in combat. This story was amazing and I just couldn’t get enough of Mia and Luke.
Luke made a promise to Troy before he died that he would protect and take care of his wife Mia and their unborn child. Luke makes the promise and takes it serious. He protects and loves Mia and her son like they are his and in the process he falls in love with Mia but he doesn’t want to over step any boundaries so he holds in his feelings.
Mia is falling in love with Luke because he has been there for her and her son. He does everything a husband would do except for the physical intimate relationship a husband and wife would have. Soon Mia can’t hold in her feelings for Luke and when they both share their love for one another their relationship changes and they become one. But some people don’t like it because Luke is Troy’s best friend and he is not supposed to love his wife.
What are Mia and Luke going to do? Are they going to make a life together or will they go back to being friends?
This book was sweet and straightforward with very little conflict. A great end of the weekend feel good story.
Mr. March was my first time reading a book by this author, but it will for sure not be my last. This book was such a fun read for me. I absolutely LOVED these characters and the writing was fabulous. My heart broke for the things that Mia had to face after losing her husband but I loved how she stayed strong for her little boy.
Luke also quickly became a favorite character while reading this story. The way her was there to take care of Mia and Joe after he lost his best friend showed what an amazing friend he was. I also loved how this book is written from both of Luke and Mia’s points of view. It really helped me to get the full idea of what is going on throughout the book.
This is definitely a must read book! You will not be disappointed! – By Alisa
I just loved Mia and Luke’s story. Luke has been keeping an eye on Mia and her son since her and his best friend Tony died while serving. I really enjoyed getting to know these two and watching them move past their grief and guilt to get a chance to be together. This was a really good realistic story and I really enjoyed it.
This series is becoming addicting….
…Mr March was just as addicting and brilliant as the first two.
Mr March was more friends to lovers story.
…This book plays on your heartstrings, their relationship grew over time..
Without giving away the plot, Luke will steal your heart. A must read !!
Readers are fighting over these Calendar Boys!
Readers of Nicole Goodin’s Calendar Boys series are fighting over these book boyfriends, who’s personalities are as individual as their fantastic must-read stories.
This is the most intense of the books so far. Every bit as enjoyable – absolutely, but our Mr March shares a huge loss with his friend and her son, so his story is about love coming in the aftermath of personal loss and tragedy. Luke Kingsford and his best mate from High School joined the army, but only one made it home to meet the newborn son of Troy and Mia Vander. On Troy’s grave, Luke promised to always be there for his family, and he has, only as the time passes, they come to mean more to him than he feels good about.
Seriously, the best attributes ever has been written into this man, and it is impossible not to fall in love with him as the loss of his mate weighs heavily on his mind while he has given his all into looking after Mia and Joe over the last two years. I almost live Mia’s heartbreak with her as she adjusts to a life without the only man she has ever known and wanted to spend her life with, while watching her son grow without his father. Luckily for them both, Luke has been there, and I absolutely loved his interactions with this little man. Truly, my mother memories went into overdrive as I remembered our son at the age of two interacting with his dad!
I truly loved this third month, and although each are absolute stand-a-lones, I highly recommend that you want to be reading all of them! 5 stars!
Mr. March by Nicole S. Goodin is the third installment of her Calendar Boys series and I am loving this series so much! I was instantly drawn into this story with the blurb alone and once I started reading, I devoured this friends-to-lovers romance with all the feels.
Luke Kingsford vowed to protect and be there for his best friend’s wife. What he never expected is to fall in love with his widow. Mia Vander is learning to live with her new normal as a widow and single mother. Having Luke around to help has been amazing, but when feelings change, guilt weighs on both of them. Can they learn to accept what they feel and want before it’s too late?
I am truly enjoying the Calendar Boys series and Mr. March by Nicole S. Goodin is my favorite to-date. An emotional story about second chances, strength, hope and love. Luke and Mia were amazing together, even as they navigated through the changes happening between them. I loved this book and look forward to reading the rest of the months!

I need more than just 5 stars for this book. It was marvelous. It was such a heartwarming and lovely story. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book in exchange for a free copy.
3.5 stars. This is book three but a stand-alone. Not my favorite but still entertaining.
Luke and Mia’s story was emotional. He lost his best friend and she lost a husband and father of her newborn son. A son that was born days after his death. It been a hard two years but made a lot easier for Mia because Luke was there to help her. She was very dependent on him. He did all the things a husband would do except they didn’t live together or have a physical relationship. Now things are changing. Life is moving on and the two fall in love. Not everyone is happy with the change. Guilt sets in. Mia and Luke must find a way to embrace their combined past and move to the next stage of their lives.

Luke and Troy have been best friends for years and served together in the Army. Troy and Mia were expecting their first child when Troy was killed in the line of duty. The last thing Troy said to Luke was to please watch over Mia and his child. Two years later Troy is still watching out for Mia and Joe. Can Mia and Luke get past the guilty feelings of betraying Troy in order to build a future.
This is the 3rd book in this series and Nicole S. Goodin has once again written a great story. I love a tough man who has a soft side. These characters feel like real people I could know. Mr March would have to be my month of choice from this series so far. Luke and Mia’s story is one of loss, grief, survival and love. A love story that shows us through sorrow sometimes happiness can grow. This book will capture your heart and have you experience the progression of emotions from friendship to something far more intimate that will take them both by surprise. As guilt threatens to destroy what they have discovered, can these two be brave enough to hold on tight to a love that might just have been what was meant to be. Mr March made me smile and it made me cry but ultimately was a story that held me hostage to the pages as I found myself unable to put it down.
Luke made a promise to his best friend when he could not save him. He would be there for his widow Mia and newborn son Joe.
Two years later, Luke shows up. Consistently. He’s there for both Mia and Joe but now he’s got the feels for Mia.
Both are a little broken, can they be better together?
I’m thinking they can with a good man like Luke.
