I’d once been a great dancer. A ballerina. But an injury ended my career, had me longing to go back in time, had me loathing the city and the very profession I’d once loved. So, I decided to get away from it all, go out in the middle of nowhere to clear my head, and focus on what was important.Things were going great until a bear was at my back door, trying to get in. And it ended with me … ended with me wielding a knife for protection and realizing it wasn’t just any bear, but a shifter who claimed to be my mate.
Maddix. Strong and powerful, his very presence had me questioning my entire existence. The mating was fast and furious, potent and real. It was everything I ever wanted, and everything I never thought I’d have.
It was all wrapped in one whirlwind, insta-lust experience.
But could I give myself over fully to Maddix? Could I truly leave the city and the life I’d always known behind?
Could I do it all for the promise of love from one possessive, territorial bear shifter who would do anything to make me happy?
Because if there was one thing Maddix made very clear, it was now that he had found me, he wasn’t letting me go.

I’m a super-fan of all of her words–but Jenika had me at the opening sentence in this one! A must-read for Jenika fans, and any romance lover!
When you hit the bottom
The author gave us the perfect example of how when you’re at your lowest you can still find the sky. This is the perfect second book to the series. We meet another bear brother and get to fall in love with him as he falls in love with his mate. I can’t wait to see which brother finds their mate next.

This was a nice, quick read. I liked that there was more storyline here than usual. I look forward to Oli’s story. I liked that Ali had sass for her man also.

Whenever I need a quick and hot read, I always look to see if Jenika Snow has anything new out. This is the second book in the series and is Maddix’s story. Maddix is a bear shifter and has been patiently waiting to find his mate, but living on the mountain, he doesn’t know if he ever will. While on a run through the forrest, he catches the scent of his MATE!!!!! Allison has left the city and rented a cabin in the mountains to figure out what she wants to do with her life. Once a dancer, an ankle injury ended that for her and no matter what, she can’t get over that. When she sees a huge bear by the door to the cabin, she’s terrified. What follows is a building of their relationship. She knows about shifters and when Maddix tells her that she is his mate, she’s weary but intrigued. I loved that the relationship didn’t start off with sex but it built up for a week or so. But when that happens, WOW!!! Make sure you have some ice water!!!! This was a quick and easy read and I throughly enjoyed it. Now I want the next brothers book! LOL
*WARNING* contains explicit adult love scenes
Maddox knows his bear is restless. Maddox wants to be happy his brother found his mate, but he’s jealous, envious and hates himself for feeling that way. Maddox has to get away so his bear can run and he can have solitude, so he’s going to his favorite camping spot.
Allison was a ballerina until an injury took away her career. Allison taught ballet to others after her injury, but she was jealous, envious of how they danced and she hated herself for feeling that way. Allison decided she needed a changed, so she rented a cabin in the woods and left the city to get a clearer look at her life.
Maddox seems more animal than man, I like that his mate is a little ballerina. This story is very short, so there is no back and forth or dragging anything out (a plus to me).
The only thing I was a little disappointed about was there was no epilogue giving us a glimpse into the future, like there was in book 1. I’ll be moving on to book 3 soon. I’d like to follow the other brothers too!
The grumpy bear brother finds his mate. Loved Maddox and Ali
Ali is a ballerina, who to a bad landing lost her career. Teaching only reminds her of all she lost. She is hoping a week in the wilderness will help clear her head and find a new path.
Maddox is the “grumpy bear”. He is both elated and extremely jealous that Zakari has found his mate. A weekend camping is what he needs to clear his head. When he sets his bear loose he catches his mates sent, and nothing is going to stop him from claiming her. Except maybe her and the kitchen knife she is holding.
Fast paced, sweet and steamy. A great quick read with a nice epilogue to wrap up their story.
This is a great read, awesome book..
Allison once a ballet dancer, life changed in a instance once she broke her ankle. Now depressed and not happy with her life, Allison knows she need a to chance her life. To get away from the city and find her “happy” again. A week away in a secluded cabin is what she needs.
Maddix goes off on his weekly hike in the mountains , but this time gets a scent of his mate. He finds her in a small cabin by herself, in his bear form no less scares her. The first meeting did not go like Maddox always dreamed, but Allison is not scared of him. She also feels the connection to him. Both knowing they are ment to be together that they complete eachother they will not fight these feelings but accept it all.
Maddix and Allison
BEARly Mated To The Grizzly is book 2 in Jenika Snow’s Bear Clan Series… These are fun, hot, unbelievable, little insta-lust” stories about bear shifters finding their mates… and Josh Mario John is on the cover of this one….what’s not to love??
Maddix is an all alpha, growly…intense…and, yes, very HOT, bear shifter looking for his mate……and he finds her…
Allison is sick of her life, of the city…and she’s going to leave it behind for a week of R & R, alone, in the woods….she knows about shifters, so when a bear appears at her cabin and shifts into the sexy, intense Maddix….well…she’s his mate, and she’s good with it…These are fun books….
Angsty, Alpha Obsessive “Mine-ness” at its Sweetest… The second installment in Jenika Snow’s, Bear Clan series. “BEARly Mated to the Grizzly” is the mating story of another of the Colorado Rockies Bear Clan mountain men featured in this series, and Allison, a former ballerina whose life is thrown into disarray after an injury ends her career and she’s left wondering about her purpose in the world.
This story explores younger brother Maddix. And follows his struggle watching big brother Zakari find his mate Bethany. Trying to deal with an unexpected swell of negative emotions at his brother’s mating, he sets off for a cave high in the mountains away from their family compound to deal with his feelings of jealousy at his brother’s new found happiness.
Here Snow unfolds a surprisingly complex emotional landscape. And while not quite as feral as the first book (Maddix has a few less rough edges than oldest brother Zakari), this second installment is still a wonderful example of author Jenika Snow’s testosterone driven, unapologetically possessive storytelling. Additionally, unlike the first book, this one will have you wanting to hug Maddix as he struggles with his inner turmoil of being both happy, jealous, and frustrated at the situation before him. I found myself more than once sighing, “awww” and feeling his ache of longing right along with him.
However, do not fear, as it is still indulgently filthy and full of the growly alpha obsessiveness as only Snow can write. And in true Snow fashion, Maddix and Allison’s story is fast paced, super-sexy, and dripping with a “fan yourself worthy” level of testosterone. It’s another alpha-male, mine-mine-mine driven story sure to make paranormal loving readers with an unbending love for strong, larger-than-life, unbending and feral shifter men swoon.
He’s a BEARy grumpy Grizzly
Maddix feels as though he’s been waiting to find his mate forever and when he stumbles upon her in his neck of the woods in bear form, he scares her until she shows him she’s made of stronger stuff
Maddix and Ali’s story is a short, somewhat steamy novella. Very similar though to the first book in the series….other than a few noted differences in my opinion.
Meh :/
It’s better than the first one for me.
At least in this one Maddix had more of an alpha personality than his brother did in the first one.
If you’re looking for a fast paranormal read with:
-virgins
-no drama
-questionable character development
then this is the book for you.
