I’m a paid killer. I have blood on my hands and too many scars under my skin.Being a killer for the Vicci Crime Family left me no time to build a lasting relationship. I certainly never imagined that my new task would lead me to the one woman who would make my heart beat again. Especially after my past with Lillian.I was supposed to protect Bethany and her son. Instead, I brought danger to their … brought danger to their doorstep. It’s about more than saving lives when hearts are involved.
Walking away is my only choice. It’s the only way to keep them safe, to keep them alive.
At least that’s what I keep telling myself.

Epic Conclusion to Awesome Series Fabulous
Deserving Love
Love at Last Series, Book 4
By: K.L. Myers
Narrated by: Lacy Laurel, Scott Rider
I loved every book in this “Love at Last” series, it started with L.O.V.E and L.O.V., Lincoln Oliver Vincent Eastwick and Lillian Olivia Vicci in the first book, we also first meet Lincoln’s sister Bethany and her son Jefferson “Peanut” there too. The second book we learn more about Lillian, who she is and where she comes from, her father is a prominent mob boss in NYC. She is the sole heir to his empire, something she is not interested in but she is in danger regardless, rival families are after her in a play for power. We meet Angelo, her body guard in that book. The action picks up in the 3rd book and continues into this book which is more about Angelo and Bethany, Peanut too. Angelo was assigned to watch them in the third book and once again he will give his life to protect another. I loved how everything plays out in this book, loved where the author took the characters. There is never a dull moment here, with plenty of drama, action, twists and turns, thrilling and suspenseful moments, heartfelt and emotional moments and a wonderful romance. Thank you for this awesome story and series!
I listened to the Audible edition, Lacy Laurel and Scott Rider are talented narrators and voice artists. They did an awesome job portraying these characters, bringing them to life giving each their own voice and personality. You could hear how much heart they put into their work as they capture the characters emotions and project them into their performance. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another fabulous listen
EPIC!!! Book four has been truly an amazing story. I love that we get to have Angelo’s story now and his love and protection for Bethany and her child is outstanding to read about. Bethany is so strong willed and her dedication and love for her child is moving. I felt an instant like for her character the first time I met her but after this story I love her even more. This series has all the feels and all the twists and turns for an incredible read. I love that the stories can be read in one sitting also that way I don’t have to be interrupted while reading because they are just that good!!! Definitely a must read series.
This series! What a freaking conclusion.
I usually stay away from Billionaire Romance and Mob reads, but here I am absolutely in love with this series. Mrs. Myers rocked it!
Please read the first three books in this series before this one! It will make reading this one so much better! I loved every book in this series, but I think this one is my favorite! WHEW!! Five Stars!
It’s no secret that I have a soft spot for Angelo *blushes* Okay, okay… soft spot may be a slight understatement *holds hands up* So, given that, you can imagine my reaction when DL hit my kindle *smirks*
I had the sudden urge to check my kindle whilst I was at work, and I had an Elsa from Frozen moment *snorts*
Me: Checks kindle furtively.
Me: IT’S THERE…
Me: Okay, pull it together!
Me: Starts hearing ‘Let It Go’…
Me: Conceal… Starts humming out loud.
Also me: Stuff it! I’m just going to let it all out.
ME: SQUEEEEEEE… *coughs*
Yup, you’ve guessed it – I couldn’t contain my excitement. It’s been a long 5 months, peeps!
I devoured this novella. Le sigh… I just love Ang. He knows what he is, and what he is capable of. He won’t apologise for it, it’s who he was raised to be *shrugs* Plus, he’s good at it *winks*
He only doubts himself when it comes to love. Can someone who has seen and done all Angelo has be deserving of love?!
All together now…
YES!!!
After all that, I bet you’re scratching your head over my rating. It comes down to one thing, peeps, one thing – orgasms! I wanted orgasms.
*sighs*
I can’t believe it’s all over. What now? *bangs head on table* (Yup, I am a Drama Queen, lol!)
I feel a Walton’s moment coming on…
Goodnight, Linc.
Goodnight, Lillian.
Goodnight, Bethany.
Sweetest of dreams, Peanut.
Goodnight, my Angelo!
Deserving Love is the book 4 and the last book in this amazing series by KL Myers.
This read is more of a novella story and the readers Angelo and Bethany’s story. If you haven’t read books 1-3 yet, then before diving into book 4, catch up in the series before reading book 4 in order for better understanding.
Angelo is the type of person to put others first before himself. Soon he finds himself falling for Bethany and her child.. he finds they give his life new meaning. But someone(s) wants to keep him isolated and lonely as they ruin him before they kill him. They target everyone and everything he loves which put Bethany and Peanut in danger.
This is a very good mafia story that is action packed, full of drama and angst, romance , suspense and just a deliciously awesome HEA. Angelo and Bethany have such chemistry and I am so happy to see him end the series with his story. Great wordbuilding and fabulous ending!!!
My Rating: 4.5 stars ******
Deserving Love is book 4 in the Love at Last series. This is a novella that goes along with the other books and gives us Angelo and Bethany’s story. I highly recommend reading the other books first though, because this one really starts right in the middle of some major action and if you are unfamiliar with some of the other characters and how they are connected to each other it can be a little confusing.
From start to finish this book is filled with danger, action, suspense, drama and some romance. Angelo is working through some major demons of his own and is scared that letting someone get close to him will only get them hurt. Bethany is trying to do what is best for her son but has a hard time resisting Angelo.
This was a fast read, but one that had me hooked. A must read book for sure! – By ALisa
Finally! I have been waiting for this story. I absolutely love Angelo, and couldn’t wait for him to get his happily ever after! It was everything I expected to get from this story, which was greatness!
This is the ending to this amazing series. This one is about bringing everything to an end but also about Angelo finally hopefully getting happiness. But will things be that easy for him? I absolutely loved this one. I loved seeing this side of Angelo as he deals with realizing his feelings for Bethany and Peanut. This ending was freaking amazing. Could not have asked for a better ending to this series. I loved all the characters and love what happens with each one of them. K.L wrote an amazing series and ended it prefectly. Highly recommend reading this whole series.
Wow, I just loved every novella in this series
It hasn’t been that long since I’d read the preceding books, but I have loved this novella series so much that I really wanted to recap everything before reading the final book. Kind of like prolonging the delicious and inevitable experience of reading this series that has been my gateway read into the mafia genre that I had long avoided.
Yes, you absolutely have to read books 1 -3 in the Love At Last series first before moving onto book 4, Deserving L.O.V. Now, we get to hear from Bethany, the younger sister of Lincoln, and mother of Peanut, Lincoln’s most precious nephew. Also in the forefront is Angelo, and maybe like me, you’ve fallen in love with this man’s ability to love unconditionally, put others first, and dispatch with the bad guys, all before lunch!!!
I’ve always struggled with the glorification of the men perpetrating the violence that is innate in anything mafia related, but after reading this series, KL Myers had me falling in love with Angelo, and admiring his ‘family’. They were loyal to a fault and watched over their own, extending this protection to the wider Eastwick family with a deadly force. They might not start the trouble, but they will sure as hell finish it! This is one hell of an ending to a series that I have loved.
4.5 Stars.
What a great ending to the L.O.V.E. series! I loved Angelo’s story…so happy he got his own story and HEA, however it was a bit rough for him to get there! Murder, mayhem and love do not make a great combination and Mafia bodyguard Angelo knows it. He also knows that he will never be able to settle down and have a family because his “job” is just too dangerous and he’s not willing to walk away from the family. That is until Bethany and her son come into his life…It took just the right woman at the right time for this Mafioso to settle down and do the right thing! Goo, easy read!
In the L.O.V.E series the characters are so amazing that you easily call in love with them. This book is no different. When the last book ended Angelo was shot but you could feel him falling for Bethany. I was rooting for them through the whole book. I was not able to put this book down. Make sure you start with book 1. If you don’t this book will not cause as much happiness in your book world
Deserving Love is the story I have been waiting for in the Love At Last series. Angelo has always put the ones he loves first even if it means breaking his own heart. With his “family” comes danger and Angelo has decided the risk to others is too great so he has locked his heart away. They were a job, but what happens when the job become his everything. As danger comes at them full force, will Angelo again walk away or will he realize that for them to truly be safe he needs them by his side. Angelo is a man deserving of love but can Bethany and Peanut show him just how worthy he is of owning their hearts. A book packed with action, emotion, realizations, sacrifice and love.
