Tit for tat. These are the rules I live by.But don’t think this is some kind of cutesy story of a boy and a girl with a simple misunderstanding. This a story of a girl who hates and a boy who loves. This is a story about how weakness became my strength. This is our story.BiancaPretty things don’t distract me. In my line of work, a distraction will get you caught. Or in my case, blackmailed. But … a distraction will get you caught. Or in my case, blackmailed. But this isn’t the only time I’ve been hustled, and soon Connor Hayes will learn that men are only pawns in my end game. I don’t love. I hate. Even a pretty boy like him.

Okay so who wasn’t looking forward to Hayes’ story? I know I certainly couldn’t wait until someone saddles down this kind lovable stubborn playboy. I was NOT disappointed!
Bianca is a bad girl in the story and one of her jobs becomes complicated due to the target she chose.
She is a strong and independent woman who doesn’t need to rely on a man for anything. Having a man is a sign of weakness and will only hurt her. Or so she thought…
Playboy Hayes can’t get enough of Bianca the woman he is blackmailing. He shows her how a man can help her thrive not weigh her down.
The horny manwhore has some sides to him others don’t see. Sides that Bianca can see through. These two are challenging, damaged, hilarious stubborn people you just can’t get enough of.
This was a fun and exciting ride that you can’t get enough of. An amazing story with a perfect ending. Drifter is a must read! I highly recommend this series or even this book as a stand alone. Hayes’ story is by far my favorite of them all.
4.5 Stars!
I was so excited to read Haye’s story from his arrogant, crude mouth that we heard from previous books, I knew it was going to be good!
I wasn’t disappointed to say the least. This book was something I wasn’t used to. It’s not the norm where you know what’s going to happen and when. It was refreshing to say the least.
At first I had a hard time connecting with Bianca and her hard attitude that she showed everyone. I should have never been concerned because the author brought me right into Bianca’s web. Like she always has. Bianca is such a strong, independent, take charge character. When Connor Hayes pushes back, she finds herself not able to resist his charm.
What starts out as a transaction, quickly becomes an unnamed relationship. I loved getting in Connor’s head. His inner dialogue had me howling with laughter – I didn’t expect anything less from that beef cake!
While this book is classified as an enemies to lovers, it’s not your average trope that gives you tons of angst. Yes there are problems, but they talk through them. The conflict wasn’t something that spiked my anxiety but I actually enjoyed the ride that I was taken on… buckle up because… full speed ahead!!!
Drifter meets Marine absolutely loved it! So l have been waiting for Hayes story, l think this may be my favorite so far! Don’t get me wrong I love the first two books! Still love the banter between the guys! Hayes & Bianca are breathtakingly beautiful together, both hurting and coming through at the end! Which marine will be next Kristy?
Kristy has a direct line to my heart. Every one of her troupe. They all know how to get you.
First, was Theo and his dirty ways. Then, came Cade and oh god, can’t he be more perfect? Love Gorgeous with all my heart. And now is Connor Hayes. That troublemaker with a heart of pure gold.
Can’t wait for Tim. I know he is my doom.
By the way, Bianca is the perfect match for Hayes. She can ride him like no other.
A good time from top to bottom with these books.
Oh, Connor Hayes and his beautiful wonderful story in Drifter.
I love this man so much. I love his humor. His inability to take anything seriously. His relationship with Breck. ALL of the nicknames in his phone contacts. His dirty mind. EVERYTHING!
I really had a love/hate relationship with Bianca. I mean, I get her backstory, but I also hate how manipulative she was. She played with Connor so much, it infuriated me.
Although, watching the way he broke through every single one of her walls was nothing short of amazing. From history lessons to pizza and everything in between.
Kristy has done it again with yet another fantastic story within this series.
It’s no secret that Drifter by Kristy Marie was one of my most anticipated reads of 2019. I started falling for Hayes in Commander in Briefs, but after Gorgeous, I was head over heels in love with him. I gushed about him to anyone that would listen more times than I can count, so when I finally got to dive into his story, I was ecstatic!
Connor Hayes is a known manwhore. Many women have been invited into his bed but never for more than one night. Hayes doesn’t do repeats or relationships of any kind. One and done and out the door. That’s just the way he rolls. You might think that would make him repulsive or infuriating to read about, but that couldn’t be further from the truth.
Hayes is always upfront with his bed partners, and he always makes sure they have a good time. On top of that, he’s playful and hilarious. It’s impossible not to laugh when you read the shit that comes out of his mouth.
The thing that makes me want to throw my panties at him the most though is his heart. If there is one thing Connor Hayes is, it’s a damn good man. He has a heart of gold, and it’s what has continued to endear him to me since the moment he appeared on the page. Watching him with Breck in Gorgeous more than solidified his place in my book boyfriend harem, but even if you’ve never read any other book in the series, I guarantee that Hayes will steal your heart in this one.
As much as I adore Hayes, Bianca held her own alongside his handsome, swoonworthy ass. If you love strong, broken heroines, you will be putty in Bianca’s highly skilled hands. She is beautiful, tough as nails, smart, and sarcastic, but most of all, she’s a survivor. Life fucked her again and again, but she kept hustling and doing what she had to do no matter what. Though she may upset you in the beginning (stealing Hayes’ bike and all ), I promise you, you will admire the fuck out of her by the end.
Drifter is a beautiful story about self acceptance, taking responsibility for your mistakes, and not letting your past dictate your future. It’s about finding family, taking risks with your heart, and learning that leaning on someone you love when you need it doesn’t show your weakness but your strength. Like all of the other books in the series, Drifter is well-written, funny, and original. Kristy Marie’s writing just keeps getting better, and I can’t wait to see what she has in store for us next!
If you love slow burns, strong heroines, playful, sexy marines, and stories with an amazing cast of secondary characters and excellent character development, this one’s for you!
I made a promise to Connor Hayes. To give him something different. So I won’t tell you how amazing is this story, how incredibly powerful and tear-jerker is the plot development, how breathtaking and perfect is the chemistry between Bianca and Connor Hayes. Because DRIFTER is just PERFECT! But like I said I wrote a different review this time. A review based on the story, but also related to the drifing vibe, speed, flue, lights…so are you ready for the ride?
Here it is!
Drifing is what she does the best. And she’s really good at it. Doing it feed but also consume her. For so long all she got was a red light. until she got used to it. until she craved it, because she had no choice. But after the red light there will always come the green one. The one to guide her trough the light. And her green light has his name: Connor Hayes! when all that matters is speed and money. He shows up, with his cocky smile and playboy attitude. Somehow they were destinated to crush into each other. They need each other.
He will show her how to slow down. And there in the shadows they reach for the other one’s hand. Never judging or asking why. Never hesitating. To flue their mutual need in a silent understanding. Where the light defeat all the shadows and insecurities. Where the need goes above the own priorities, where that need turn into an addiction, to heal and keep trying, a reason to dare, to be better for the other one. where earning speed means making a heart beat again, holding tide, trusting and in the end enjoying the madly, deep, real Love’s ride.
Overall the story feels real, because of the intensity of all those emotions it brings up, that you can’t ignore, that you will live with the characters. It will steal a lot of smiles from you but also some tears, but in the end the weakness is just the other face of the strength, right?
You absolutely need to pick this book up, because what Kristy did this time is not only phenomenal is above it. Is pure and real. It’s a masterpiece. I really don’t know how is she going to write something better than this, but I’m sure she will find a way. She just have to listen to her heart. F***k her doubts, feel the vibe, free her talent.
Yes, hell freaking yes! I loved this book. From the first page it had me hooked. I loved their banter. I loved the writing and how it made me smile so many times. But in the end I was tearing up with pride. Pride for Bianca’s journey and how she wanted to be the woman he deserved. So major swoon. Connor was so cute!! Gah what a lovable man. I could totally picture him and his antics in my head as I read. This book is the 3rd in the series but you DO NOT need to read the other ones first though I highly recommend them!!!

Okay, let’s do this. So, we are FINALLY back in Madison and this time, it’s Handsome´s turn to find his Boo Thang (sorry, couldn’t resist); I just didn’t’ know if I was ready.
I mean, don’t get me wrong: I was more than ready for another book in this series since the minute I finished “Gorgeous”.
Okay, maybe not that soon: hearts need recovery time.
But I just didn’t know if I was ready to lose Connor So-Hot-It-Hurts, Always-Smirking-And-Ready-To-Crack-A-Joke Hayes.
Even when I was certain that Kristy was going to make me love Bianca to death. Spoiler alert: it worked.
Out of the tree books, I feel like this is probably the story that delivers the least amount of blows to your gut, but don’t let it fool you. It can come at you with a vengeance that you didn’t even saw coming.
Just so I can paint you a picture: 15% into it I had already cried, swooned, giggled, laughed out loud; you name it, I did it. And, to remain true to its predecessors, I was faced with a dilemma: do I:
a) read it at a quick pace and get to know the story ASAP – like my life depended on it – while still savoring all the words and details, or
b) take my time with every single little word and piece of information, because I don’t want it to end. Like, ever.
So, what did I do? Uh… both? I’m not sure.
The only thing I know is that I’m ready to read it again. Now.
Kristy Marie was, once more, successful when it comes to make me look like a crazy lady, since I was tearing up for the majority of my read and straight up crying my eyes out from 85% forward.
Without giving too much away, Bianca and Hayes meet under peculiar circumstances and the battle of wills ensues: Bianca feels that there’s more to Connor than just the player on the outside, but doesn’t want to have anything to do with him, while Hayes does everything to figure Bianca out. That includes, becoming a permanent fixture in her live. Bianca didn’t even saw it coming.
It’s a story of seconds chances; allowing someone to come into your life and totally and completely shift the way you see yourself and others; that not everybody else is there to use you and discard you.
Some people care.
Some people see right through you.
The right one will defy you and slowly make their way into your heart; the right one stays and fights, for you and with you. Forever.
Ohh, that was a tough one. Okay, let’s pick this up.
Kristy, I want, no… scratch that, I NEED Tim, Vic and Kane STAT – yes, I added Vic in there because your little tease at the end of this book, left me thinking some things…
And Kane? Yes, I literally squealed when I “saw” him again.
And some of the things that come out of his mouth? Stick a fork in me; I’m done.
Also, low blow: I cried my eyes out meeting Aspen and reading Hayes talk about how everyone just dotes on her.
Now, not only do I want a house full of hot, protective marines, I also want a baby.
Thanks.
I can’t wait to come back to Madison; I need more of this family in my life. Didn’t know it was possible but I fall more and more in love every time we go back.
And it is all you: the laughs, the ugly crying, the this-is-so-hot-I’m-literally-fanning-myself moments and some many more feelings you provoked.
You created a world I would give anything to live in.
I’ll repeat myself here but who cares, right?
Thank you so much for bringing these characters into my life.
Thank you for giving me the pleasure of meeting them for the first time before the rest of the world, with “Commander in Briefs”.
Thank you for doing it again with this book.
Still not awesome at writing reviews but I guess I got my point across. That point being: you need these characters in your life, you just don’t know it yet. Believe me, I know. Kristy’s writing style and the stories she creates will get you hooked.
And yes, you’re still my rock star, Kristy. Thank You.
