When Christopher Montgomery moves to Sausalito and meets Lorelai Castillo, it looks like the beginning, a perfect seaside romance. The charming city boasts beautiful sites but nothing compares to Lorelai. Christopher never imagined that Lorelai’s father is not just the owner of a yacht club. No, he’s the ruthless leader of the Castillo Mob. And when his 17-year-old daughter rebels against his … 17-year-old daughter rebels against his will and falls in love with an outsider, complications arise.
Will Lorelai fight for her love until the very end?
Will she manage to escape the “family business” despite countless threats?
Most nights are peaceful and quiet, but not the Sausalito Nights.

I am so happy I kept reading this book, it started slow but picked up fast. The Montgomery/Castillo world’s are funny, sad and page turning. I am glad to know the story does not end here because I need more.
This forbidden love story between Lorelai and Christopher kept me totally captivated as I turned each and every page until the very end! I was so engaged with the great plot and strongly created characters that I read this book in one sitting!
This is the first in a series and is Lorelai and Christopher’s story. Lorelai is from a mafia family and Chris and his family are new in town. This story is like a modern day fairy-tale where their love is forbidden yet they cannot stay away from each other. This is a well written story which is filled with witty banter, twists, suspense, emotion, heartbreak, drama, and unexpected surprises which all lead to a humorous and riveting page turner. I cannot wait to read #2, and I recommend for all.
Sausalito Nights is the first book in the Montgomery Beauty series by Stephanie Salvatore. It definitely has the Romeo and Juliet feel with the Mafia tilt. Filled with colorful characters who illicit the reader’s live or hate and a well written story, this book is a great start to what promises to be a fantastic series.
Told in the dual first person Point of view of both main characters, we get into the minds of both Christopher and Lorelai. We get the first impressions, the growing connection, the lust, the love, the fears of what will come. These characters are from different worlds as families go..and their love is forbidden, but sometimes opposites attract and the forbidden fruit is the sweetest. Christopher and Lorelai are young and in love…there is a lot of secret meetups with lustful moments and sweet exchanges.
The story also has drama, suspense, murder, violence secrets, betrayals, loss… some intense, emotion invoking elements are present. I laughed, I cried, I smiled… I wanted to smack someone really badly…. and overall, I enjoyed the journey this book took me on. After the ending, I swear the second book better come out quickly because I need to know what happens.
3 Cranky Stars
The first half of this book is about a young couple meeting, one being the daughter of the local Mobs and the other a respectable young man moving into area with his parents. Half way through was going to give up as it was about sex only. Where, when and how!!!! I persevered with it and thankfully I did as second half was really good. I think I realise what the author was trying to do in the first half, which is tell you how serious there relationship was, not just a fling. The couple were forbidden to see one another but this didn’t stop them. The second half was more appealing, when there is trouble with the mob. Nothing like a bit of death, torture and betrayal to get the interest going again. The last part of this book makes you want to read more. I would definitely give the next book ago.
