Jesus in me.”
Discover how to better love and rely on the person of the Holy Spirit—and embrace how much He loves you through His presence, power, and provision in our daily lives.

Author Ann Graham Lotz has written a captivating, eye opening book with “Jesus in Me.” This God glorifying book is filled with transparent stories and reflections of her experience with and thoughts on the Holy Spirit. I was immediately invested and did not want to put this heart warming book down, but I had to take it in daily doses to really absorb it.
This book is extremely well written and well organized. It has twenty seven short chapters, divided into seven themes, with a conclusion and appendixes. The chapters each end with questions to help you apply what you have read for personal growth.
The author has a nice style of writing. It felt like she was chatting with me instead of me reading pages from a book. Her stories are so transparent. She holds nothing back. This book was easy to read and has stayed with me.
There is so much to know and learn about the Holy Spirit. When I was growing up not much was mentioned about Him, just Pentecost. Author Lotz reviews the names of the Holy Spirit and the ways He works in us. She talks about loving the Holy Spirit, trusting Him, enjoying His presence, and relying on Him among many other topics.
This is a much needed book for every Christian. It almost reads like a devotional. I needed to read a few pages and the ponder the rich information. This is a life changing book. It would be wonderful for a small group. Every church library should have a copy. This would be a perfect Christmas or birthday gift for anyone. Why wait for that, it is a perfect gift to share with your family and friends because of its eye-opening, heart-warming message.
I highly recommend this book. It definitely earns a 5 star rating. A copy was provided by the publisher but these are my own, honest thoughts.
As much as I have read and studied my bible, I know the least about the third part of the Holy Trinity, the Holy Spirit. Most of my focus has centered on Jesus and God the father. So when I discovered Anne Graham Lotz’s new book, Jesus In Me, Experiencing the Holy Spirit as a Constant Companion was available from the WaterBrook and Multnomah launch group I requested it for review. I received the book from WaterBrook and Multnomah free for an honest review.
Anne Graham Lotz, daughter of the well known Reverend Billy Graham writes an impactful book that explains all the ways that the Holy Spirit intercedes and lives within us. She delves into the various ways He is present in our world and throughout history.
Personally, my one reference that always comes to my mind when thinking about the Holy Spirit is the symbol of fire. When the Holy Spirit came to dwell with the disciples just as Jesus promised he would, and each disciple was seen to have a vision of fire or flames above their heads and they could speak in tongues of all the various countries to spread the gospel. Pentecost is the day we celebrate this event. Graham Lotz refers to the various ways the Holy Spirit is represented by fire throughout the bible. “One of the things He (the Holy Spirit) does is to set our hearts on fire for God Himself, for God’s Son, for God’s Gospel, for God’s Word, for the people whom God loves, and for the purpose for which we exist, which is to bring glory to God. You and I should be fired up…all the time! We are to be keepers of the fire. We are commanded, “Do not put out the Spirit’s fire.”” This particular passage from chapter 16, He Ignites Us, spoke to my heart. I feel it is easy to let our fires dim and smolder instead of burning strong with a constant flame. Yet the Holy Spirit is ever-present and ever-ready to restore our passion to share the Gospel, and Graham Lotz reminds us this is true in her book.
Another part of the book that I appreciate is the Appendixes and notes section in the back of the book. She shares how to hear the Holy Spirit while studying your bible, understanding the fruits of the Spirit, and learning how to be filled and stay filled with the Spirit. She also shares her extensive notes section that gives reference to all her research and documentation of scripture.
Needless to say, I am very pleased with Graham Lotz’s inspiring book and now I want to learn even more about the Holy Spirit.

Anne Graham Lotz’s book Jesus in Me is just what Christian’s and the Church needs to hear today. We don’t always think about, teach about, read about or study about the Holy Spirit. We don’t concern ourselves with the fact that the Holy Spirit is God, Himself living in us- sent by God to comfort us, guide us, and more in our daily walk. Ann breaks the book down into 7 parts which include Loving the Person of the Holy Spirit, Embracing the Purpose of the Holy Spirit, and Reflecting the Purity of the Holy Spirit to name a few. She gives us a background of who the Holy Spirit is, How we can hear and follow his prompting in our life, and How the Holy Spirit can change us plus more in this book. The book includes 4 Appendixes to learn more about hearing from and living a spirit filled life, doing a self-examination of our sins, and learning about spiritual gifts. Anne uses personal experiences and struggles to share how she learns and applies what God has taught her about the Holy Spirit in her life. This book is filled with Scripture references supporting and giving references for her lessons and points on the Holy Spirit. The book is about who is the Holy Spirit, knowing the Holy Spirit personally, and applying His guidance, direction, wisdom, and discernment to our daily thoughts, actions, and lives.
The book is also a source for people searching out information and answers about God, the Holy Spirit, and the gospel message.
This book follows an easy to read style that flows easily throughout the chapter. The division of the book into parts makes it easier to follow what aspect of the Holy Spirit or application of the Holy Spirit in your life Anne is discussing. I enjoyed this book and there is a lot to learn from this book so I will be rereading it (along side of my Bible) along with taking notes to glean information and grow in my relationship with Jesus and knowing the Jesus in Me (Holy Spirit). Pick up your copy today. It is well worth the read. This is the first book I have read by Anne Graham Lotz but I enjoyed it and have learned from it. An advanced copy was given to me by the Author in exchange for an honest review. All views and opinions expressed in this review are my own.
With current, personal content from Anne Graham Lotz as well as study of biblical characters and Scriptures, this is a highly engaging and practical book. Grow your understanding and deepen your relationship with the Holy Spirit, Who is often the most misunderstood Person of the Trinity. The added appendixes provide further opportunities to mature your faith.
I received a complimentary copy of the book without obligation. This review is my opinion.
