I had a blast reading this sweet novella! It left a big smile on my face and really put me in a good mood. I couldn’t get enough of it.
The characters were wonderful. Mollie’s spunky and doesn’t sugarcoat things. She sure keeps things lively. Gavin’s serious and at first comes across as all business, but he’s got a sweet and fun side to him that makes him irresistible. The masterminds behind Matchmaking Week, great aunts Ginny and Goldie, were a riot! They kept me laughing.
I’ve always enjoyed stories featuring a matchmaking twist and this one’s so great. Having a matchmaking week on a private island is such a neat idea. And what a romantic setting. This was a wonderful start to what’s sure to be an entertaining series.
A Meddled Match by Jill Kemerer
Resort to Romance Novella Series
Gavin Sterling loved his great aunts. But this time, Goldie and Ginny had really done it. They had him come to Joy Island under false pretenses. And…even worse…invited his dad here at the same time. He came thinking they were finalizing leaving the island to him and now they tricked him into participating in Matchmaking Week!
Mollie Macomb just wanted to have a quiet vacation. Enjoy the sun, the waves, the fruity drinks. Her mom sent her to Joy Island to be part of Matchmaking Week, Mollie came to relax and all she had to do was to get rid of the guy they partnered her with. Easier said than done.
Great story. I laughed. And cried. And turned the pages to see what would happen next. And,as always, where there is a secret…there is trouble lurking nearby.

Oh, this was a fun book to read. I’ve enjoyed getting to read the fun stories in this collection of books which are written by different authors.
I enjoyed getting to meet Goldie and Ginny, to hear how this weekend event and the island all came about. These two characters are a hoot! I loved their flair and wild crazy ways. I also enjoyed how they got Gavin to be a part of this whole weekend.
I got a kick out of the dialog Gavin and Mollie had. Mollie is a character who speaks her mind, no matter what and Gavin doesn’t let it bother him.
I love romance stories and this book fit the bill. I have found this whole collection has been a joy to read. All the book (so far) have been just the extra sweetness I needed to my day.
If you like Hallmark movies and sweet romance, then you are going to truly enjoy these books. You’ll also get a few chuckles out of them.
I highly recommend you grab a copy of this book and enjoy a bit of tropical romance.
A very cute story showing what can happen when two people are brought together in unique circumstances. From the meddling aunts to the main characters, the story is full of surprises, fun, laughter, reconciliation, trust and love. I’ll read this one again and again. I was given a complimentary copy of this story. This is my personal opinion. No review was required.
4.5 Stars It must be hard to write the first book in a series that will release week by week, but Jill Kemerer opens up the Resort to Romance series in a delightful way. A Meddled Match is the perfect title for a romance that begins with the meddling of two elderly aunts who are experts in the art of match-making. Gavin and Mollie are just right for each other. They just don’t know it yet.
I enjoyed this fun novella – short enough to read in one sitting, but long on romance and fun.
A Meddled Match by Jill Kemerer is a fun kick-off to a new series of 10 novellas set in the Bahamas. Two meddling, match-making aunts, an unlikely heroine who feels like a failure, an eligible hero who begrudgingly participates in Matchmaking Week are thrown together in a delightfully refreshing story of finding love under unusual circumstances. I enjoyed the antics of the aunts as they schemed to find a match for Gavin.
This is a sweet, easy read with a lot of charming moments. It’s short enough to enjoy in one evening I’m looking forward to more of the stories in this series.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy from the author. All opinions are my own.
I really enjoyed this sweet, delightful novella! It made me laugh out loud and read ’til the end!
Gavin Sterling seems to have it all, good looks, money, and a job he loves, but what he doesn’t have is love. So his two well-meaning, eccentric aunts fool him into coming to their island in the Bahamas for “Matchmaking Week”. He’s going to try and talk them into leaving him their island in their will, but they have bigger plans. Find Gavin a wife!
Mollie Macomb just wants a nice relaxing vacation, but her mom wants her to find love. So she pays for her to spend “Matchmaking Week” on the island. She’s determined to push away her match, but he’s not so easily persuaded. Try as she may, she can only resist him so long while still living up to her end of the bargain.
These two are fun, real, and will make you laugh! A very enjoyable story!
How fun to go to the Bahamas for a week and be a part of matchmaking. Eccentric older Aunts that care about you enough to trick into coming for match making week and maybe just maybe leave the resort to you in their will- yes please !!! Great book and beautiful story don’t pass it up!!
I enjoyed reading about Gavin and Mollie’s sweet romance. Neither was looking for love but found it nonetheless. Loved the well-developed characters and detail which made it easy to picture the scenes. Great novella. I received a preview copy from the author but was not required to leave a review. The opinions and rating are my own.
Enjoyed watching these characters fall in love… and all the craziness that went along with what was a very meddled match. Encouraging to watch wounded family relationships mended as well. Quick, light, fun read.
Oh my goodness!! What a fun read. I found myself laughing out loud and wishing I was on that Joy Island watching this all happen. I loved the cast of characters, the story line and the sweet and clean romance. This novella can be read in one sitting.
*I was given a copy by the author. This is my honest opinion
I loved this sweet romance. I thought Mollie was adorable. She just wants a vacation and with her mother paying it just works out perfect for her. Of course this is a Matching Making Vacation set on a beautiful island and ran by two very eccentric, elderly ladies. Mollie thinks she has everything all figured out, just avoid her match or convince him that they really didn’t match. Gavin didn’t sign up for this. He arrived at his aunt’s request and finds that his inheritance is in jeopardy unless he proves to his aunts that he’s worthy of the island by taking part of the match making scene. He has to convince Mollie that they must take part as a couple, but not the reason why. This is a book that made me smile and laugh out loud at times. The characters and plot immediately pulled me in and held me. I just didn’t seem able to put the book down until I turned the last page. This book is full of romance, humor, and love.
** I received this book from the author. I was not required to write a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
The Meddled Match: Resort to Romance Series
By: Jill Kemerer
A Meddled Match is book one by Jill Kemerer in Resort to Romance Series. Ten authors get together to write ten different novellas in this wonderful series. Each novella is a stand a lone. These novellas are all linked to a Matchmaking week in the Bahamas. This is Gavin and Mollie’s story. Gavin is roped into matchmaking week with Mollie by his two matchmaking meddlesome aunts. Mollie just wants to spend a week relaxing and drinking fruity drinks. She wants nothing todo with Gavin. I loved and enjoyed this story watching Gary and Mollie getting to know each other. This is a cute and fun story, and I enjoyed the two matchmaking meddlesome aunts. I caught myself laughing several times. This story is full and surprises.
I was given a complimentary copy of this book, but was not told that I had to give a positive review. Opinions are my own.
Two meddlesome matchmaking eccentric aunts arrange for their nephew Gavin Sterling to participate in matchmaking week on Joy Island; the very one he’s supposed to inherit! Going along with the scheme kicking & screaming, he reluctantly sets out to please his aunts with no intent to fall in love with the woman he’s matched with. Which is a fine idea in Molly Macomb’s mind! After all, it was her mother’s idea to pay for the week. Molly wants nothing more than to relax, sip fruity drinks on the beach and read her romance novel all while pretending she’s the successful interior designer she envisions one day to be. Hating her life in blustery Chicago with no idea how to change her future, spending a week in the tropics is a grand fantasy she’s willing to endure. Telling Gavin up front “this isn’t going to work between us” only fuels him to prove her wrong!
These two are a riot to watch and made me laugh at their antics! The witty banter alone endured me to Gavin & Molly. They fight the attraction between them at every turn, but everything conspires against them to prove that real love can be found anywhere! Ginny & Goldie are the eccentric aunts that are over-the-top hilarious; deep down they care a great deal for Gavin and only want to see him happy. I haven’t laughed so much at a story for a long time!
This was a clean, sweet read with comical references to a trashy romance novel that made me laugh-out-loud. I would definitely give Gavin lots of points for his creativity to impress Molly & win her heart! He’s the real deal when it comes to hero material. In the end, they both just wanted someone to love them for who they really are. And don’t we all want that very thing for ourselves?
*I received a complimentary copy from the author and was under no obligation to leave a favorable review. All opinions are my own. *
‘The last thing he wanted to do was spend a week pretending to be matched with a lonely—likely desperate—woman.’
One paragraph into this novella and I was all in! Loved every minute. Jill Kemerer has a hit with this one! If the rest of this series of novellas set in a matchmaking resort is anything like the first two, that will be wonderful..
Gavin Sterling is roped into filling in for a no-show on a matchmaking weekend at his great aunts’ resort. His decidedly weird great aunts. They are considering him to inherit said resort and he wants to stay on their good side. Besides, no woman they pair him with will know he is a billionaire, something that has not worked well for him in the romance department.
Molly Macomb just wants to take a vacation away from her dull and unlikable life with the vacation her mother paid for. She tells Gavin exactly that, too. She has no notion whatsoever of being anybody’s match. She never gets past a first date or do with anybody because of her bluntness and quirky ways. Can these two most unlikely people find love in a week? Tune in and find out.
Jill Kemerer is terrific here. I have read many of her books and didn’t know she had such a funny side. Boy, this book was fun to read. Don’t miss it. Bravo!
*My thanks to the author for a preview copy of this book. A positive review was not expected and the opinions stated here are entirely my own.
