“Out-of-this-world amazing.” ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐“I was absolutely hooked.” ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐“SEXY!!!… I’m obsessed.” ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐“I just loved everything about this book.” ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Bad boy. Player. Commitment-phobe. Husband?I’m Mac.But you already know that, right? You probably recognize my voice… you sip your morning coffee – along with the rest of Sacramento’s female population.
If there’s one other thing you should know about me, it’s that I’m a lone wolf.
Hell yeah, I get my fair share of the ladies. Plural.
But I’ve never been a one-woman man.
Not since my last screwed-up relationship.
Not since the drama, the guilt, that has haunted me ever since.
These days, there’s only so much hurt I’m willing to give or take.
On the outside, I might seem perfect: blue eyes, built, a brave, alpha attitude.
But every day is another battle with my demons. A struggle to stay afloat.
And yeah, that fight’s a whole lot safer on my own. For everyone.
But then I saw Kelley. She was alone, crying at the bus-stop.
From that moment, I knew she needed me.
I knew I needed her.
Full, sexy lips. Long chestnut hair. A dancer’s body.
She’s a work of art.
Next thing, our clothes are lying in a heap around us.
She’s moaning in my arms.
She’s screaming my name.
She’s shivering in pleasure.
Before I know it, we’re waking up naked. Except on my left-hand is a shiny, gold ring.
Kelley’s not just a hot-as-hell one-night stand.
She’s my wife.
I can’t deny that I’m glad she’s mine.
But I’m not husband material.
Knowing my track record, I’m bound to screw things up.
What’s worse… It turns out there’s something she’s not telling me.
She’s battling her own heartbreak and tragedy seems to follow her around.
Her walls are up, and it’s going to be one hell of a challenge to crash them down.
The odds are well and truly stacked against us.
So this thing can’t last, can it? Even if I want it to…

I’m a Dana Mason fan, so, needless to say, I’ve read all her books, all of which are romantic suspense. Until now. Now Mason’s ventured into straight-out sizzling-hot romance, and boy has she nailed it!
Mac, a DJ, is dreamy and sexy AF, but flawed and scarred. Kelley, a dancer, is gorgeous and sweet, but damaged and haunted. Put the two together and you have both instant chemistry and profound drama.
These two seem destined to be together, and not just for the sex, though that’s definitely off-the-charts intense. Mac and Kelley each have a past that’s left its mark, but, if they can just stay together and work through it all, they’re fated to heal one another. Unfortunately, that’s easier said than done. I won’t spoil it by sharing a blow-by-blow synopsis. You gotta walk into this one unprepared for all that happens.
As far as the writing goes, Mason, as usual, did an excellent job fully developing her characters. The plot moves along at a comfortable pace, not slow, but also not too fast. Just perfect, I’d say, with both passion and tension in all the right places. The dialog feels real and their interactions believable. Mason’s writing is crisp and concise. No wasted words or fluff and filler. It’s deep and emotional and fun, definitely a read-through-the-night story that keeps you turning the pages and unwilling to put it down until you’re done, and then you’ll be sad to leave Mac and Kelley’s world, but happy to have experienced their story.
I’m so happy Mason has forayed into romance. She’s really good at it and knows exactly what the reader wants. I highly recommend Accidental Groom!
Mackensey “Mac” Thomas is a DJ for a local radio station in Sacramento and the city’s hottest playboy bachelor. Most people don’t know the real Mac but because of demons from his past, he let’s everyone believe he is that man.
Kelley Kontos is trying to finish up her college degree at 25 yrs old. Because of demons from her past her life has taken on a new direction. When Kelley finds her boyfriend of one year cheating on her with her best friend and roommate Megan, she decides she has had enough.
When Mac stops at Starbucks he sees this beautiful woman crying on a bench and is instantly intrigued. By the time he gets his coffee she is gone. Imagine his surprise when a week later he spots this mysterious female and they strike up a conversation. The chemistry between these two is instant and Mac decides to invite her to Lake Tahoe with him for the weekend which Kelley accepts. Imagine both of their surprises when they wake up in the morning and find themselves married! This was not something either of them had every planned for!
After getting back to Sacramento Mac and Kelley have to decide what to do with the situation they have gotten themselves into. Both of them are not ready to give up the other but because of their demons they each are second guessing all their decisions. It will take a HUGE leap of faith for both Mac and Kelley in order for them to have their happy ending….and boy do they get a perfect one!
Oh, Mac…
His voice may only be in my head, but I want him to whisper in my hear!
The chemistry between Mac and Kelley is sizzling and this story does a fantastic job of blending personal struggle, strained friendships, heat, and comedy. Great vacation read!
I’ve never read Dana Mason’s books before Accidental Groom, but I’m a fan now! I love this genre and she nailed every single aspect that I love about this type of romantic comedy — chemistry between Mac and Kelley from the first page; a little bit of angst; a whole lot of steam; and all the “feels” that make this a winner for me! I enjoyed how their interaction and banter with each other was written–the storyline had an effortless, easy flow. I became invested in Mac and Kelley’s characters immediately which is a sign of an excellent read! I’ll definitely be looking forward to reading more from this author in the future. I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC for NetGalley.
Since this is my first read by this author, I was not really sure of what to expect when it came to her writing style, or the depths she would take to make any story. Let me tell you this author has the skill set of a flippin’ pro. Accidental Groom was out of this world amazing. IT IS A STORY FULL OF DEPTH, with loads of reality, that makes it seem so real. Accidental Groom is more than just the same ole cliche of waking up married, it is everything and beyond. This author did an amazing job of showcasing the character development. The story line is a lot different than I thought it was going to be, it’s more, so much more. The banter between the characters was authentic. It was amusing when needed, and real when it needed to be. The flow was spectacular. It did not feel rushed one bit, everything was at the perfect pace. Every single plot in this book, is what made it what it was. It was amazing, and really set the tone, at least for me, of what this author is capable of. I can not wait to read Mason’s future books.
Mac. He is just so dreamy. Don’t get me wrong, he most definitely has flaws, but be is strong and courageous enough to make himself even better. He is kind, and empathetic, and it shows page after page. Being the top rated radio host in the morning, woman want to cling to him.
Kelley has had a rough go through life, but it’s made her strong and resilient. She has her future mapped out, and no one or anything will stop that from happening. She is honest, even to herself, which makes her different than most lead female characters. She has a witty personality, that shines bright when she allows it to come out. I seriously admire this character.
I would prefer not to get into anything else because I am not one for spoilers, and I don’t want to ruin that for anyone else. Just know that there is more to this book than the title and the blurb.

This was the first book I have read by this author and I am sure it won’t be my last. I really enjoyed the book and the relationship between Mackensey and Kelley. This story was like a soap opera and I couldn’t get enough of it. Once I started reading I couldn’t put this book down until I finished it. I loved that both Mackensey and Kelley had pasts they wanted to keep secret because they wanted to be who they are now and not have the past be who they were. These two wanted to be together and yet they were afraid of almost wanting too much because they just didn’t think they deserved it. You could feel the attraction and chemistry between them and rooted for them to realize they were perfect for each other.
This was my first book by Dana Mason and I was very pleasantly surprised. This was a fun read, with serious undertones that made the story more believable and relatable. Mac sees Kelley sitting on a bench, sobbing and is immediately drawn to her, and although he does nothing further, he thinks about the girl with the green eyes all week. So much so, he goes back to the coffee shop the next week in hopes of finding her. Mac strikes up a conversation and from then on, he knows that Kelley is something special. Ms. Mason writes with such clarity that you can feel the sadness in Kelley’s life and the need for Mac to protect her. The writing keeps the story flowing and the characters develop over the course of the book with such depth, that you can’t help rooting for these two to make this work. Totally recommend this book.
I had just written a review on Net Galley and thought about browsing through the suggested available titles and saw this one. The blurb got to me and I requested to read it.
I haven’t read anything from the author yet. I don’t know what to expect from a Dana Mason novel so I was going in blind.
So this is the love story of Mackensey Thomas and Kelley Kontos. It’s the insta-lust, insta-love kind. I think it’s possible to have a connection with someone you’ve just met… and maybe, just maybe their souls recognize each other from the outset.
The plot isn’t something I haven’t read before and it’s not my usual cup of tea because I’m too pragmatic when it comes to these things but I enjoyed reading it nonetheless… Sure there were parts that were annoying… were I thought the characters were being too dramatically unrealistic for my taste but its part of the whole charm.
This is a story about following your heart, trusting your gut and taking risks… that what’s meant to be will always find it’s way.
If you’re a fan of Lauren Blakely, Lauren Layne or Lila Monroe, then this is the book to pick up next.

I like to read this kind of contemporary romance.
Even the base of the story is maybe déjà vu, it didn’t bothered me at all because I liked the characters and the authors way of telling theirs story. I was glued to my kindle all the way to the end rooting for their happy end. Totally entertaining and interesting to read. Since it is first of the instalment, I will definitely read the others in the series too.
This is the first book I’ve read/listened to by Dana Mason and I will definitely be reading more. This story hit a lot of boxes for me: great characters, layers of backstory for both main characters, great friends and family (except for one crappy best friend), instant attraction, meddling family, miscommunication, and a guy who doesn’t have the first clue about anyone’s emotions, especially his own. I found I could relate to Mac being a radio personality and the rabid women who were his followers. My husband used to have that job and the same problem, lol.
I love how this story begins, Mac catches sight of Kelley crying outside of Starbucks and it sticks with him. Known as a player to his friends and fans, his interest is unexpected. A week later, he has the opportunity to meet her and then the whirlwind of their relationship takes off. A lot happens in this story in a very short time, things that are out of character for both Mac and Kelley, yet it works for them. Both characters harbor secrets that impact their present, and both vow to not google each other. Mac’s a great alpha male, even though he doesn’t recognize the emotions he feels. He is sweet, caring, and protective of Kelley. He is also smug, smart, funny and sexy. I love the banter between the characters in this book. Mac’s sister and his friend Jeff are brutally honest and supportive and great additions to the story.
Kelley’s had a tough few years, she’s lost more than her fair share and is trying to overcome her past the best she can. With her career ripped away, she’s going to school in hopes of eventually owning her own dance studio. She meets Mac and her world is almost instantly turned upside down. A weekend trip to Reno is just the getaway she needs but she doesn’t expect to wake up married to the sexy as sin Mac. Their relationship is fast, full of misconceptions and miscommunications, a meddling sister, an underlying current of something that could lead to more.
I totally enjoyed listening to this audiobook. Kelsey Navarro did a spectacular job with tone and pacing. Her male voices are sexy and distinctive and her female voices sweet and full of emotions. I’ll be looking for more books that she has recorded. I can’t wait to read/listen the next book in the series.
I listened to the audible performance of Accidental Groom and it started off really strong. I liked the characters and appreciated that the story started before the accidental wedding. I was impressed that they shared responsibility for their actions, though much less impressed that the story became more typical of the genre in the second half of the book.
Overall, I really liked it and would be interested in hearing more from this author/performer.
#AudiobookObsession
The main problem I had with this book is that everything happened too fast. The pace of the writing, the story itself, it made the story feel rushed. I wanted to know more, there were more words than actions.
I mean they basically met and yet they’re planning a trip together. Already?
I feel like the book was meant to be a normal looking novel but the instalove between main characters kind of ruined it for me.
I didn’t feel connected to the characters at all, the first 20 % I even thought of DNF-ing this book. I wasn’t invested in the story, I read through pages without feeling anything. I could have DNF it and I wouldn’t feel absolutely any regret.
I also found one inconsistency: sometimes they said that they know each other for weeks, sometimes even days. I got the feeling that all story happened in maybe a week time, which is for me way too soon.
3 ”meh” stars.
Overall, this was a cute story, but I felt that the relationship between Mac and Kelley was rushed. It’s not that I can’t buy into a couple falling in love quickly, but I need to believe it and I just didn’t in this case, Frankly, a week seems a bit much and although it felt as though they definitely liked each other, their rapid declarations of love seemed a bit of a stretch.
Ultimately, the relationship with Kelley’s ex-BFF wraps up in the epilogue a little too sweetly/neatly for my taste given all that had transpired throughout the book (maybe I’m just a petty person?). I’ll definitely be interested in seeing what the future books in the series sound like and would definitely consider checking them out.
