Until next time… Happy Reading!
Validated by Valentines is the sequel to Created for Christmas. In Created for Christmas, Ivy orders the perfect Dream Droid (Ethan) for companionship, but finds him to be too perfect. When she realizes that she has fallen in love with the man who created the droid, she decides to gift him to her sister Ivory, but only after having a few adjustments made along with wiping a couple of days off his memory drive.
In this sequel, Ivory has Ethan all to herself in her tiny apartment and he’s everything she wants in a man. Does it really matter that he’s a humanoid and does she care if other people accept him or not? He’s very attentive and wants her to be happy, but the adjustments in his program are causing some trouble in their relationship. Will Ivory send him for another tune-up or will she accept him the way he is? Then there’s the problem with the bake-off and it looks like someone is sabotaging her work. Will Valentine’s Day turn into a bust?
I liked the sequel better. There were more feels and great chemistry. This is a fairly clean romance with a mystery. I received an eARC of this book and this is my honest and voluntary review.
What more can I say than what I’ve said in previous reviews of Joynell’s work! These stories are so lifelike that I forget I’m reading about characters. They come alive as I read these stories and I experience the gamut of emotions from tears to laughter and everything in between whether it is sweet romantic books as this book and the first book Created for Christmas are or stories with dragons or fairy godmothers or humans and aliens trying to find a planet where they can settle. I believe she covers the whole range with books that you feel so good in reading!
Her devoted fans know where of I speak and I hope those who may never have come across her work yet will be intrigued enough to give her a read. If you do then I know you will be coming back for more! I have thoroughly enjoyed every one of her books I have read and I would like everyone who sees this if you haven’t read any of her books yet please start today! I can guarantee you will not be sorry!
This story is just a slice of real life to me. Petty jealousies we all see everyday and hopefully that we ourselves don’t possess.
I wholeheartedly recommend this book to readers of all ages for unless you have no emotions at all you can’t help but love the characters in each of her books! You will cheer the goodness of people and be disgusted with what those that are not good.
Thank you Joy for all the many long hours you spend in going over and over your stories to make them so believable-I salute you and thank you for sharing your talent with the world. It’s a better place because you are in it!
Her sister gives her the perfect gift, the perfect man. She falls more and more in love with him but she knows he will never say the words back. What will she do? See how this will go

Ivory got Ethan as a Christmas gift from her sister he is a Dream Droid. Ethan has feelings in his own way for Ivory so he enters her secretly in the city-wide bake-off with prizes awarded on Valentine’s Day. But someone wants to win enough that they will sabotage Ivory. Who it is was surprising. I enjoyed reading this book and I especially liked the ending. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Ivory wakes up from a little too much drinking at their Christmas celebration the night before and hears a good morning greeting from her Christmas present! Ethan, her humanoid companion and gift from her sister, gave her a hug. Ivy had actually had Ethan created for herself, but she fell in love with the engineer who helped create him. Since Ivory and Ivy had the same taste in men, Ethan was a good companion just the way he was.
Ivy had lunch for them when Ivory and Ethan arrived. Dayton, Ivy’s boyfriend, said he still had some programming to tweak on Ethan, but Ivory said she wanted to get to know him first. Then Ivy asked her if she was entering the first annual Valentine’s Day bake off sponsored by her employer. Odd, but Patty hadn’t mentioned it? The $5,000 prize was a big one! But the $200 entry fee might be more than she wanted to afford right now.
When they went shopping to gather food to be donated to the poor, Ethan asked her how she could spend the $200 on food to give away for the food pantry but not on the contest entry fee for the bake-off? Ivory told him about her commitment to doing for others and helping the poor and how using $200 for herself was selfish. Caring for others was the right thing to do. Her life lesson would have an impact on Ethan. He was so much more than programming and wires, as she would come to learn. He became more human to her every passing day.
On their first “official” date, they went to the perpetual memorial fountain to honor soldiers of past wars. Ivory gave Ethan a penny to make a wish, and she did the same. When he turned to her to tell him her wish, I almost cried. As a droid, he was not permitted to fall in love with his owner. Yet he told her his wish, “That one day, when you’re ready to love me, I’m ready to love you back.” He had already planned to make her wish come true about entering the bake-off contest. Perhaps, as he became more and more human-like, he would get his wish too?
This was a wonderful, satisfying story that surprised me completely. It was so real! So heartfelt! The book also has a mystery when someone appears to be sabotaging Ivory’s baking efforts. That will be an exciting side-story for the reader to try to solve the mystery and the purpose behind it. Seriously, do not miss this story. It was so good and a real pleasure to enjoy!
Validated by Valentine’s
A Sweet Little Holiday Romance Book 2
Joynell Schultz
This was a cute story. A bakery cook-off with cupcakes that are to die to for. Now Ivory just has to figure out what is happening to Ethan, and life will go back to being perfect with her best almost human life mate. Just what we all need.
Fun abounds in this frolic through a baking competition. Ivory has the perfect recipe and her life is starting to shape up. That is until a saboteur starts ruining Ivory’s baking. Ethan helps Ivory by trying to keep her positive and calm. Is there a future for Ivory and Ethan, read the book and find out.
Validated by Valentine’s #2 – Like Created for Christmas, this is also an entertaining, heartwarming story. This is well written with good storylines, some mystery and a sweet romance. The characters are likable and realistic, including the humanoid Ethan. This is a quickly read, sweet story with a good mystery. Included are a few recipes. I found this book on Booksprout. 4*
Created for Christmas #1 – Another entertaining, heartwarming story from Ms. Schultz. This is a well written, interesting story with good storylines that kept me immersed until the last page. The characters are likable and realistic. This quickly read, sweet story is the perfect for a relaxing spell with a cuppa and a furbaby curled up next to you. 4*
Blood & Holy Water: Angels of Sojourn, Book One – I couldn’t put this book down without a fight. Another well written, well thought out story concerning an unusual vampire (I like what was done with this character) and a wingless angel. Enemies with the same goal, but different results gained, work together to solve the deaths of potential angels and murdered vampires, and the ties between the two groups. The characters are realistic and both have morals and ethics. The angel goes a little gray, but there’s so much involved in her decisions in trying to help the humans and potential angels. There’s intrigue and suspense, and the book moves at a fast pace. There’s sexual tension, but no sex – thank goodness this author treats angels as angels not sex starved humans without morals – and very infrequent vulgar language. 5*
Fangs & Fairy Dust – I enjoy Ms. Schultz’s stories, which I discovered in Hexes and Ohs, and was happy to find this collection. This is a well written and believable novella introducing the Angels of Sojourn series, of which Blood & Holy Water is the first book. The main characters, a male vampire and a female human and her mother, are interesting and believable, along with action and dialog. It is fast paced and contains vivid descriptions making everything easy to visualize. Fortunately, it is not a cliffhanger. 4*
I just loved, loved, loved this book! Probably more than Created for Christmas. I just thought Ivory and Ethan were soooo sweet, literally, from the desserts to the romance, all so sweet! I liked how despite Ivory’s past relationship failures she never wanted to change Ethan, even when a ‘tune up’ is not frowned upon. They worked on their problems like a real couple, which made Ethan even more human to me. And if the romance isn’t enough to hook you, the little mystery sure kept me thinking. I thought the ending was perfect and I would still love to read more of these characters and their little town. Plus see like an epilogue one day! I highly recommend this series.
Validated by Valentine’s is the second standalone novel in the A Sweet Little Holiday Romance series.
I voluntarily received and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
Final Rating: 5 Stars
So sweet!!
This is a continuation of Created for Christmas but this time following another of the triplets. Since Ivy fell in love with Ethan’s creator, she gave Ethan to Ivory. A sweet love story, and a mystery to boot. This was a cute, fun book. Can Ivory win the baking contest? Who is trying to sabotage her and will anyone believe her? Funny read.
I received an ARC, this is my honest review.
