Hard Edit
Sequel to Black Balled
By: Andrea Smith, Eva LeNoir

OMG, I just loved this book, the amazing characters and storylines are entertaining and had me laughing out loud at times. I had thoroughly enjoyed Andrea Smith & Eva Noir’s first book “Black Balled”, Larson & Troy’s story of how they met and became a couple and what a story that was. This is a continuation of their story and the authors continue their greatness. There is never a dull moment, the storylines are filled with drama, humor, a bit if angst and some hot romance. Troy and Larson are unique individuals, each having their own strong personality and when together they could be a comedy act and/or porn stars, not at the same time, well mostly. There are many laugh out loud moments in this book, the authors surely nailed it with the humor. Everything was going great for Troy and Larson, their relationship and their careers are all going well. Troy finally published his book, he even got an offer to bring it to the screen. When the person who wants Troy to sign a contract to bring the book to film turns out to be a blast from his past things start to go haywire, making matters worse is that Larson has history with this person too. Misunderstandings and miscommunication wreaks havoc on their relationship. I was rooting for them, so was Ida, their trusty neighbor with her dog Muffy. You know she will work her Ida magic to get them back on track. BTW, loved Minette and the story behind the name, Troy and Larson sure have nutty neighbors, LOL! Loved Muffy and Minette’s bonus chapters too. I highly recommend this book, it is mesmerizing and enjoyable and you’ll have a smile on your face from start to end. Andrea Smith & Eva Noir thank you for another brilliant story!
I listened to the Audible edition, the talented Joel Leslie continues to bring these characters to life, gives each their voice and personality. He sets a perfect pace for the story, lands the humor and banter between characters effortlessly. He projects the emotions of the character into his performance and adds a nice dramatic flair which enhances their great story another level. Thank you for another great listen
Another great collaboration between two very talented authors! Troy and Larson’s story continues as they learn to trust and support one another throughout all that life throws their way. It isn’t easy for these two very strong, alpha males, but their humor and passion help bond them consummately. I loved the humor and authentic direction this story took, making it so much fun and keeping me totally engaged from start to finish.
Joel Leslie continues to narrate this series flawlessly. He embodied these characters, bringing out the extreme emotions they both struggled with. His comedic timing was spot on, and his accents were wonderful. I was totally lost in his storytelling as he brought this funny, moving, and sexy story to life.
These two!! When they aren’t ripping each other’s clothes off, Troy and Larson are likely driving each other and those around them crazy. My favorite character in this series, Ida, makes another appearance and she continues to humanize these men, as well as set them straight or fiercely protect them.
The narrator does a commendable job with so many male voices.
I absolutely loved BlackBalled and to find out that there was a sequel with these two fascinating characters made my day. Hard Edit was even better that the first book. The story takes us into the lives of Troy and Larson one year after BlackBalled and the real world problems they faced while in a relationship. It was hotter, funnier, and in some ways a bit more unusual. The authors did a great job bringing together these two strong alpha male characters while allowing them to each keep their individuality. I loved their witty banter and their competitive battles however it was their steamy scenes that almost melted my kindle. These two characters were well developed and they grow as a couple in the story as they faced their fears and insecurities together. The secondary characters brought balance and support to the main characters and added so much more to this story. Hard Edit was a phenomenal read, definitely worthy of a 5 star status. I loved it and would highly recommend it to all lovers of MM romance.
The audiobook version was narrated by Joel Leslie. He did a phenomenal job with the portrayal of these characters giving them distinct voices and personality. His pace and timing was excellent and he really brought the story to life. I loved listening to him narrate this story.
Flipping heck, these two alpha males are hilarious (I must also add that Joel Lesley narrates the part of both of them brilliantly, along with additional characters that are added to the mix), I could easily differentiate between Larson and Troy, he also has all the sarcasm, passion, humour, and annoyance down to pat. I spent the most part listening to this book with a permanent smile on my face. The story has everything, romance, arguments, sex and lots of drama when we get a typical example of miscommunication and not talking things out, blooming stubborn men that they are. Life after that happy ending is not always easy, but it’s funny as feck. Not a lot I can say without spoilers, so I’ll just say, this book along with it’s predecessor are some of my favourite audios this year. Brilliant story, wonderful narration and perfect characters. If I could give it more than five stars I would.
