This is a quick and easy read. The storyline is well-crafted, intriguing, suspenseful, has drama and steam. The characters are defined, and likable with sizzling chemistry. I liked it.

You can’t help but love a good romance with a handsome cowboy. A story line that you can’t stop reading and keep turning the pages to find out what happens. You love getting to know the characters, they interact well with each other, are well developed and enjoyable. A great romantic read for those summer evenings sitting on your porch enjoying the sunset.

Ivy’s not entirely truthful about her reasons for being at the ranch. But her little white lies don’t really hurt anyone, and I love her strength and intelligence. A vacation fling might be just what she needs. Troy drove me nuts, running hot and cold with Ivy. Good lord, that man needs to make up his mind. I read this series all out of order, and I know from the third book that he’s really a great guy; he just doesn’t always show it in this book. He’s a storyteller, and the story he told in the bar leads his ranch to all sorts of problems – kidnapping, murder, a bomb, and other crimes – caused by someone not realizing that it’s just a story. The book was engaging, and the roller coaster ride of action and romance kept my interest to the very last page. This story starts a little slow, but stick with it you will not be sorry as it turns into one terrific romance mystery. Ivy gets some unwanted news from her doctor, causing her to end up at the bar having a drink to relieve her mind and start thinking about her life. When she started hearing this fantastic story at a table near by about a treasure on a ranch in Montana. She starts listening trying to pick up any clues she could because it might be what she was looking for to start a novel. When the evening was coming to an end and last call came, she decided to take two weeks vacation, visit the ranch, do some research, and write her book. It all sounded great in theory, but as soon as she got to the ranch all sorts of strange things started to happen. Her and the owner, Troy had instant chemistry, but he seemed to run hot and cold leaving her baffled most of the time. Troy was trying to figure out the mystery of all the strange incidents happen on the dude ranch, since he questioned calling in the authorities for fear of alarming the guests. Somethings with the disposal of the bomb from the plane and the age of the child held some problems for me.

Troy and Ivy had little in common. He ran a Montana dude ranch and she wanted to write a novel. They both had secrets. But as time passed, they began to overcome their differences. This story has it all. Mystery, romance, ranch life, an unusual dog, (no spoilers here) and a dangerous search and rescue. Loved the location and all the characters, I didn’t want to put it down. Oh, yeah, did I mention the humor. It has some amusing scenes. Lots of horses too. I’m moving on to book 3.

What a wonderful surprise this book is! Mystery, adventure, romance, criminals and murders, romance and abundant love in between Ranchhands, Indian cooks, Montana wildlife and airplane crashes. Not a minute of boredom allowed in this book, I would have you read this in the SPA if you got the possibility. If not, your reading nock will do. Don’t forget the wine and the crackers so you won’t chew your nails while hanging on every single word… and I will head over to read the first book in this series. There’s no need to do so, as it’s a perfect standalone, but there is a big “want to” from my side. And they live happily ever after… enjoy your read!

Ivy is staying at the ranch Troy runs for a few weeks, working on a story to write and hiding out some secrets. Because of a tall tale that Troy was telling in the bar, someone has ideas of finding treasure and they cause great harm. Ivy gets caught up in the mess, as do others, as kidnapping, murder and dangerous situations evolve. A little boy, Billy, was precious and on a plane that goes down. Brothers reunite and a family is forged. Characters are terrific, with great depth and intense feelings. The storyline was action-packed with plenty of surprises and twists, bad guys and treasure, friends and families. A mystery about a small animal also figured out. Loved this story and will be rereading it again for sure.
