Jet Valentine grows up!
Jet Valentine has been kicked out of his own band for bad behaviour. He decides to head home to reconnect with his siblings, hoping to also repair his damaged reputation. Abby Baxter has known Jet since childhood, and while she stayed in Valentine Bay, she kept tabs on Jet while he took on the world with his band. Abby has succeeded in Valentine Bay, opening her own mulled wine shop.
I loved that Abby wasn’t about to let her childhood crush walk all over her. She called Jet on his actions as did Jet’s own family. The attraction between Jet and Abby is obvious. But Jet has to figure out his life and he needs to be lass selfish in doing so. Jet was not my favourite character, but I give him credit for maturing and caring for Abby in a way that helped him grow into a man.
I received an ARC copy of this book and am voluntarily reviewing it. All opinions expressed in this review are my own and given freely.
Rocking Her Heart: Rock star Jet Valentine’s life has spiral’s out of control and he has hit bottom, but he knows just who to help him get his life back in order. I loved the chemistry between Jet and Abby, she is so spunky and has no problem telling him how it is. The competitiveness between them is comical at times and I enjoyed how Abby always reminded him just how many times she had beat him at something. Great story, once you read Melanie Shawn you are hooked.
WOW!!! Oh WOW!! Jet and Abby’s story in Rocking Her Heart, book three in Melanie Shawn’s Valentine Bay series, was definitely amazing!! Most people, after getting kicked out of their own band because of five years of destructive behavior would go to rehab or find a decent psychologist to get help, but not Jet Valentine. Jet knew the cause, the death of his parents, and he needed to start fresh. Going home to Valentine Bay, to the one person who could help him be his best, Abby Baxter, made perfect sense to him. Abby, his high school friend and rival, would put him on the right track. Despite having to one-up Jet throughout high school, Abby had a huge crush on Jet. Reading about his life imploding, Abby’s heart went out to him and when he wanted to go from friends to more, she was ready. Abby is ecstatic that Jet wants her and in a relationship, but wondered if he would still, once his life was back on track. Jet needs to decide the direction he wants to take in the future and how to make sure Abby would play a part. These two were amazing and perfect for each other; they fit together. These two had off the charts chemistry with the electricity rolling off of them and noticed by their friends and family. In addition I loved how their “friendly” competition made both of them better people.
Melanie Shawn wrote a wonderfully emotional and moving story filled with sexual chemistry, fun dialogue, and endearing characters that is not to be missed. I loved how three of the four brothers have fallen for best friends Abby, Ella, and Gen; giving the girls a chance to be real sisters. I highly recommend Rocking Her Heart to other readers and am looking forward to reading the next story in the Valentine Bay series.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
Jet and Abby have known each other since high school and may have just a little bit of competition in them. When Jet’s world starts to fall apart and he hears his mom talking to him, knows it is time to head back to Valentine Bay to start over and make things right. The one person who can help him do it is Abby.
Each book in this series adds more friends and family to Valentine Bay. Can’t wait to see what the next book holds.
It’s always great to read a Melanie Shawn book. You know that you are going to get a good storyline with lots of family and friends around. This was no different. Jet has come back home after some issues and let’s just say that Abby is his match in every way. Dual point of view. No cliffhanger. While it is part of a series, it can easily be read as a stand alone.
Little brother and big rock star Jet is home. A bit broken, a lot awakened. He’s home to figure himself out and most of all to see his long time friendemy Abby. They push, they pull, they tease and compete. This is a fun story full of chemistry, humor and the little things in how people handle ups and downs, grief and joy. But most of all it’s Melanie Shawn’s signature style of relatable characters and their personal struggles and sparkling love connections.

Rocking Her Heart is the third book in the Valentine Bay series. This book can be read as a standalone without any issue.
Jet Valentine is the lead singer of the group named after him, Valentine. He’s had a volatile last few years and his band mates have had enough. While the headlines say multiple things, the bottom line is the guys have effectively kicked him out of the group. With no plans for the immediate future, Jet decides the best thing to do is to head back to his hometown of Valentine Bay to reconnect with the his family and also with his friend and rival, Abby Baxter.
Abby and Jet have known one another since they were kids and while they were friends, they were always one another’s biggest rivals as well. Abby has made a name for herself in Valentine Bay by opening up her milled wine shop. While she’s played it very close to the vest, she has continued to keep an eye on Jet from afar over the years by using Google searches and even going incognito to a few concerts to keep up with him.
When Jet returns home and he and Abby reconnect, the sparks are instantaneous. It’s clear they are on the same page with their feelings, but the question is, are they starting a relationship for the right reasons, or it Jet using it to keep his mind off of his career imploding around him? The last thing Abby wants is to finally have the man she’s always wanted, but for all the wrong reasons. Will Abby be exactly what Jet has always been missing and didn’t even realize it?
I enjoy the Valentine Bay books as it always feels like coming home when we get to return. Melanie Shawn did a fantastic job with this installment and I can’t wait for the next book in this series and/or any others they have coming for us soon!
This is a fun, sexy, action packed romantic adventure that begins when all seams lost and Jets whole life is turned upside down and inside out so he runs home to find a new beginning…. emotionally thrilling, sweet and engaging journey for two people that needed to be shaken to fall. Highly entertaining story.
Jet Valentine’s five years of bad behavior causes his life to implode around him. There’s only one place to start over: Valentine Bay. And there’s only one person who can help: his friend and rival since high school, Abby Baxter.
I loved Jet and Abby’s relationship and chemistry. The banter between them was awesome. I loved that Abby always had to be better than Jet and had no issues rubbing it in his face.
My only issue with this story is that Jet lost his attitude and was back to his old self fairly quickly. It’s seem to have gotten glossed over as well as what his next steps would be.
Jet has never dealt with his pain & anger after his parents were killed in an accident. Instead he ran…onto tour with his band, into alcohol to forget & into bad behavior so that he was too busy to think. It took a rude awakening for him to see what was going on & how far he drifted. Now he’s home to try to hide & recuperate. He knows his friend Abby will tell it like it is. She won’t hold back.
Melanie Shawn’s stories are emotional family stories with plenty of heat. They bring the characters down to earth no matter what type of celebrity they are. Even with their fame, or maybe because of it, they manage to engage your sympathies & emotions & get you totally invested in the story. As always, this story can be read as a stand alone but if you have read the series, you will enjoy the quick updates on familiar characters.
