Regret can follow you beyond the grave.Itzel is best known for her disastrous love-life, so it is understandable that the druids have kept her close for the last few hundred years. However, when they seem willing to ignore the invitation to have an open discussion with the mystics, Itzel insists on going. From his appearance to his personality, Darius is unlike the other assassins. Often … assassins. Often described as cold, stubborn, and emotionless, few intentionally interact with him. Despite that, he has been their constant protector for hundreds of years – until he insists on joining Itzel when she goes to Solona.
The pair have always showed a level of understanding and respect for each other that they typically have not shown others. Can they still view each other favorably when faced with an impossible situation? Or will their worst impulses only make things worse?
Author’s Note: This book is intended for 18 and over due to its mature sexy content. This is a stand alone book with an HEA.

Another story of Brigantia. In this story we are going back in time, roughly to the same time as the beginning of “Freya’s Guardian”. Itzel is a druid, trying to bring Freya and her guardian together and prevent Freya’s abduction. She is accompanied by an unusual assassin, Darius, who has his own tasks but is also always there to protect her. After a surprising revelation they finally come together.
Like all the other stories, this is a wonderful tale of love, courage and devotion, to a task and to fellow beings.

The storyline is exciting. The characters are awesome. Itzel is a Druid. She is on a mission to meet with the Mystic Queen. The Queen needs someone close she can depend on and trust. Only she has that some in Hector her Guardian Procter. If she will just open her eyes and heart. Itzel hopes to bring these two together. For the sake of everyone. She is traveling with Darius an Assassin who looks like a Guardian. Itzel is drawn to Darius only he seems stand offish. As they travel they grow closer together. There are many surprises and twists in this story you will love.

We are drawn into a complex world of champions, mystics, guardians, assassins, and seers. The readers will need to keep their heads in the game on this one to follow the heightened activity and intrigue.
Itzel is a Druid who felt that avoiding the mystics would only put druids and assassins in greater danger, so she had decided to go as a representative to negotiate with the Mystic Queen Freya. She knew that they needed to take risks to join with the only people who could help them fight against the Unwashed cult movement. Darius, her traveling companion and a skilled albino Assassin, immediately insisted on coming along with her and she still was not sure why he would go so far from home and against his better judgment.
Itzel ultimately thought that Freya was acting childishly when she hurried away from Itzel and Haiden. Now it was up to Hector to reach her. When Haiden and Itzel sat at a small table café discussing things, Darius showed up saying he and Itzel had to leave. It looked like he stirred up the Unwashed somehow and a number of them were preparing to cross the bay and head to the capital. As Darius and Itzel stopped in the woods so he could hide his disguise, they made a wager with each other that surprised each of them. Itzel, if she won, wanted to see him smile at her daily, when no one else was around, for 100 years. That guaranteed that she too would be smiling every day. If Darius won, he wanted to go out on another outside mission with her because, even when they disagreed, their discussions were productive – and he enjoyed her company. When he shook her hand, she continued to hold it, thinking about him and what he meant – until she became aware he was inches away from her face, with an odd look, and asking if she was okay.
Darius told Itzel about the plans of the Unwashed. They needed to defeat them before they snatched the queen away. Would this all unfold as Darius believed it would? Would Hector do his part in handling the corrupted Council betrayers and protecting Queen Freya? And would Itzel find the love of her life in a very shocking way?
This book was very good and definitely holds the reader’s interest. Parts seem difficult to understand, but as the reader continues to read, suddenly understanding pulls it all together. The story line is done well, moves at a good pace, and the characters are described well. The relationship between Itzel and Darius, who have respected and appreciated each other over many, many years, moves closer as they share this adventure. Don’t miss this one!
A very packed story that has many twists and turns. Enjoyable tale of the MCs a druid and a assassin.

Lisa Daniels gas a great series about the Shifters of Brigantia. This loose series follows the efforts of magic users trying to stop the demise of their way of life. The seers and mystics are slowly being killed off and the shifters that serve as their protectors are seeing their numbers dwindling. Everyone that isn’t human is in jeopardy from the Unwashed. Champions, Guardians, even the Assassins are working together to save those with magic and to defeat the Unwashed.
The Seers have been all but destroyed from the inside by their own seers corrupted by the Unwashed. This segment of the story follows the efforts of a Druid and an Assassin to find a corrupt seer and to encourage the Mystic Queen to join the efforts to stop the Unwashed. After meeting with the Mystic Queen, they find an Unwashed Nest with plans to kidnap and sacrifice the Queen. The two of them must try to destroy the nest and protect the Queen.
This could have been another good installment of the story of Brigantia, unfortunately, I felt there was a lot of backstory or world-smithing missing. I spent more time trying to figure out what was going on than on the story itself. I felt like I came into the middle of the story, so only 3.5 stars.
The characters are absolutely fantastic. They have a depth to them that just makes them leap off the pages and straight into your heart. Their story is filled with action, adventure, danger and passion. It is well-written, flows well and kept me engaged from start to finish with the plot offering twists and turns that keep you guessing and on the edge of your seat.

The fight against the Unwashed continues as they take more power and try to extend their lives. Itzel and Darius are in the thick of it, each with their own plan to help end this war that many of the magical community tried to ignore. Itzel, a powerful druid has been in hiding while the Unwashed has become stronger and now she is ready to step out and help the cause. The Unwashed are becoming bolder with their daring plan to take one of the most power mystics, Queen Freya. Darius, an assassin is out to take down one of the Unwashed strongholds by any means necessary. With his own skills and power and the aid of Itzel they plan to destroy this upcoming heart of the Unwashed and help set many of the tortured souls free. These two characters work perfectly together with their playful, sarcastic, thoughtful, and viscous attitude that is needed to deal with this horrendous situation and bring some hope with the extinction of more Unwashed. I am completely enthralled as I watch these plans unfold and I can’t wait to read more.
Another adventure within the world of Brigantia. The story is not as good as the previous stories, but it is still as entertaining as the others. I enjoyed it.

A bit more cerebral than some of the previous books, this can also be read as a stand alone.
A sort of geo political stories with various love stories mixed in – given the fact that some of the characters can regenerate or reincarnate, the tale can be more than a bit tangled.
In the universe the characters are living in, humans are a somewhat befuddled and sometimes hostile opposition or co inhabitants with mystics and assassins and seers. The various entities seem to be involved in a lot of power mongering, grabbing of resources, and attempting to knock out those they view as threats.
It is interesting that from the perspective of the different characters we hear from, the events and relationships are perceived and depicted a bit differently, according the the understanding of the different characters.
some steamy romance amid a great deal of intrigue and adventure .
If you are a fan of fantasy, you may have found your next fun read.
