this is a wonderful story, if you have read any of the other books you will like this one. clarie is Fred’s aunt and is staying in Hardman for awhile, she love to wonder around and finds gray and his daughter Maddie in the woods. it is nice to see all the other people in town and what is going on. looking forward to another story
This is just another fantastic story and a great example of what a great author Ms. Hatfield is.
I instantly fell in love with the heroine Claire and it took a bit to fall in love with the hero Carter because he first comes off as a Beast to her Beauty. When they first meet, he is gruff and wants her of his property and never to come back. She wonders immediately why he is living out there in the middle of the forest with his daughter and someplace no one might see. She only stumbled on the grove where his four-year-old daughter, Maddie Mae is playing expertly a violin and Claire is stunned to stumble on this scene of a little girl who plays a violin so well in fact better than some professionals she has heard.
This story in Hardman, Oregon is beautiful story that just reminded me of Beauty and the Beast but with a whole lot more. Maddie is prodigy child of the violin and Claire wonders why he hides her when she could get the best education back east to spur her on to be the most wonderful violin artist ever.
Claire and Carter are both instantly attracted to each other but he always acts gruff when she returns to the grove where they first met.
I love that we get to see old friends and new ones and there is always something or someone that causes a person to hide or have fear for someone in these stories.
I love the entire series as Ms. Hatfield can really build great characters and fun towns and situations that makes you just keep turning the pages and not be able to put down her stories. From the first page to the last you are in for a wonderful ride and all the stories I have read from her are like this.
She is a great word builder, great character builder and loves to often put in animals that are fun and exciting. She creates scenes that you feel part of and you always feel part of the story and town.
I encourage you to read this story to find out what happens with our hero and heroine and everyone else. You will want to find out if Carter ever comes out of hiding and goes into town, or if people find out about Maddie the prodigy.
I have to say you will love this story, as I did, and all the stories Ms. Hatfield writes.
I am always amazed how she can come up with the scenarios she comes up with. You will too.
