Marigold finds that she is pregnant. She and Eamonn have been told that their child will fulfill the ancient Aumahnee Prophecy, but Marigold doesn’t know what to believe! Great characters and world building, a must read!
Defenders of the Realm (Book 4) by Corinne O’Flynn is a wonderful story to read. This is number four in this wonderful series I fell in love with. I love reading about witches and the fae. I loved reading this story and I highly recommend it to everyone who loves reading about witches and the Fae.

I loved this book so much. I have read all 4 books in this series so far and can’t find anything negative about any of them. The only complaint I have is the lack of sleep I faced because I couldn’t put them down. I can’t wait for more. This book explains more about the prophecy that appears in earlier books and how it will come to pass. The growing relationship between Marigold and Eamonn continues. The war on and in the Fae realm heats up. I am eagerly awaiting the next book where more action, adventure, denouements and even romance will follow. I recommend this book and this entire series to anyone who loves magic, fantasy and amazing characters. So great.

This book follows the story of Eamonn (the Captain of the Watchers of the Veil) and Marigold (a witch turned shifter) and the struggle to save the realm of Fae. The realm is under attack by wiches, led by marigold’s own mother and shifter wolves who feel it is their right to rule after suffering years of opreesion and servitude to the Fae. The battle rages and the witches have found a way to open the veil and attack, Marigold has news of her own and she and Eamonn must find a way to work through the feelings they have for one another as well. A great page turner that leaves you wanting to know what’s next!

Fantastic read
Eamonn, a fae warrior, watched the scenery flash by as Marigold, a witch who had recently been turned into a wolf shifter, drove too fast for his liking. It made him tense and irritable. When he and Marigold had tried to portal back to Fae from Earth, the portal travel via the stones was not working and the portal wouldn’t open. More than just this one was inoperable and Tobias and the mage Sukeera had been working on fixing it. With the Veil under attack, it was still not useable, but they remembered the old-fashioned portal station that they thought had been removed. It would take six days to drive there, but at least they were not trapped here, and the king knew the keeper who would help them.
When they arrived in Eureka, the two looked for the bookshop that housed the old portal. A woman and cat were in the shop. Eamonn told her what they needed, but she said she had no idea what they were asking about. The cat leapt angrily at Marigold, claws displayed, and she froze it in mid-leap. As the woman reached for the cat, Marigold knew she was also a witch. She carried the frozen cat to the back room and came back, followed by a man. From the smell, Marigold identified him as the cat, a shifter, and he identified her as wolf shifter in a derogatory manner until his daughter told them both to quit squabbling like children. When Eamonn mentioned King Jharak, they finally got Roger and Tara’s attention and were able to go through the portal.
Eamonn was concerned that Marigold felt sick, which they all attributed to portal travel if someone was not used to it. Taranath, King Jharak’s son, ordered a drink for her to help. The Goblin Queen Iris took Marigold to a room to rest. Food and tea was brought in, and the women discussed Marigold’s reaction to the portal travel this time, whereas she had only been a bit disoriented after other such travel. She asked Iris to be honest as to what the problem was. Marigold suspected it was a wolf illness she was unaware of. Until Iris told her she believed Marigold was pregnant!
They brought in Eamonn’s mage, Sukeera, and had to tell her the truth. But her reaction startled both Iris and Marigold. She believed the pregnancy was part of the several thousand-years-old Aumahnee Prophecy – the war, the fate of all the realms at stake! The fae prophecy said, “Three become one!” Sukeera explained that Eamonn is fae, Marigold is both witch and wolf. So that means three races will join within one child – therefore, her baby could be the answer to the war! Could this be true? How could this information be applied? And what was Eamonn going to say when she gave him the news?
The reader will love how real this book feels! The twists and turns keep the story line moving fast, and the strong characters draw the reader deeper into the story. I loved the humorous parts and really enjoyed this tale from start to finish! Make sure to grab the entire series! It’s a wild but wonderful adventure and you won’t want to miss one second of it!
That was just freaking AWESOME! There is so much action and twists that as a reader you just race along with the story and hope, breathlessly, that all works out! I cannot WAIT for the next book!
Eamonn’s Tale #1 – Has a preview, which I appreciate knowing in advance before reading a book. This prequel introduces us to Eamonn and his disgrace. A well written, interesting short story that has more depth than the mention of how Eamonn attained his position in the book, Watcher of the Veil. This is my second story by Ms. Manifold and she’s writes interesting stories. 5*
Marigold’s Tale #2 – Has a preview, which I appreciate knowing in advance before reading a book. This prequel introduces us to Marigold, a witch, and the story behind her missing sister and the attack against Marigold and her loss. This is the third story I’ve read by Ms. O’Flynn and she hasn’t disappointed me with her writings. 5*
Watchers of the Veil #3 – This is not my first book by O’Flynn and I’m not sure if I’ve read Manifold previously, but WotV is an excellent read. It is a well written, fast paced suspense with interesting characters and a twisting plot. The book is mesmerizing; if you’ve ever read J. Hinchey or J. Butcher, you know what I mean – you can’t put the book down! I do wish I knew which books/short stories I should have read (listed in book) before reading WotV; I felt like I was missing something, a foundation. But not reading them, didn’t take away from this story. The last couple of chapters were a little weak/different from the rest of the story, which while not a cliffhanger, does suggest more is to come. Duh! 5*
Defenders of the Realm #4 – It’s been so long since I read Watchers that I forgot some of the storylines, but I did not forget Mother. What a heifer! Like all the rest of the series, there are multiple storylines that move quickly and keep the reader glued to the pages. I missed a couple of cuppas because the story was that good when I went dry. The personalities of the characters, as well as the emotions, run the gamut. Whatever you like/dislike, it’s here. The action and behaviors are always realistic and you don’t have the stupid formulas that many “authors” copy as their own. This series should be read from the beginning; I couldn’t have missed a book since each one is good! I contacted the author to review her books and received this copy through Booksprout. 5*
Ghosts of Witches Past – Ready for more of this author’s work. Interesting good and bad characters along with a believable, well-written mystery full of suspense and intrigue. A good read for all ages. This is my first book by this author and I’m hooked. 5*
A fantastic tale of love, betrayal and twists…
This story will kept entrainment until the last page!
Surprises at evey corner will waait you
Don’t miss this new chapter of Eamonn and Marigold story!

Good book full of love and action. It has lots of twists and turns and tells the story from different viewpoints to keep it interesting.
OMG, this book has suspense, love, hate, and more. So many twist and turns in the lives of everyone. Marigold has so much happening to her in this book. Eamonn is so busy trying to protect the Realm and Marigold. What will happen when the wolves and witch come together? Will they break thru the Veil? Can Marigold figure out where her sister is? Can she figure out what her mother is up to? What’s with Damian joining her mother? What’;s going to happen when Marigold tells Eamonn about her being pregnant? Sukeera keeps talking about the prophecy? Is it true?
