I absolutely loved this book. A bear and wolf shifter and A very wonderful romance.
Great book. Great Characters and had to go and read other two book
I wanted to find out how Nyssa, our wolf shifter, was handling the new dynamic in the pack. She’s doing pretty good most days. She always seemed a bit shy to me. She’s more confident and determined to move on and I like her a lot more. Jorah, a bear shifter, steps in to save her. Bear shifters were rumored to be extinct, killed off by the vampires and have been hiding for years. When Jorah and Nyssa meet it’s like at first sight. I have so many favorite characters in this book it’s hard to name them all. Bronwon is a girl that stands out in the group. I love her sense of humor and how Nyssa has grown close to her, too. I do wonder how Magnolia fits in. The next book will be right on top for me. I requested an advanced reader copy from Booksprout and am under no obligation to leave this review.
Howl and Roar is Book 2 of the Howl and Growl series. The storyline is excellent and the character development is excellent. The story takes place approximately two years after Howl and Growl, Book 1. Our two MC are Joran, a bear shifter, and Nyssa, a wolf shifter. Joran does not see why they should be forbidden to go down the mountain and has a habit of bending the rules. They have been isolated there since almost being wiped out by the vampires some 50 years before. Another great character in the story is Bronwen, a vampire, who was down right sassy. Joran saves Nyssa from the changelings and their lives will not be the same. The storyline is fast paced and full of danger and adventure. This is a page-turner and keeps you involved until the last page. Looking forward to Book 3 and highly recommend this book and series. Received a copy from Booksprout and this is my voluntary and honest review.
Cloe Cullen takes us back to the Oldwood Forest two years after book one ended. Darius, a wolf shifter, is Alpha who mated Amara, a cat shifter. It’s still strange but both packs are trying to make things work harmoniously. Unfortunately, it broke Nyssa’s heart. She’d always had strong feelings for Darius.
Nyssa and a packmate, Lowell, were out on patrol looking for Changelings; you know, the beings left from the war with the Vampires when Nyssa spots one and gives chase. It turns out to be a trap and both her and Lowell are surrounded on all sides and looks like Nyssa is going to die.
Who knew there was still a pack of bear shifters up on the mountains? There were rumors yeah, but no one had ever seen them. Jorah was one of them. When he sees the cougar hurt and needing help, he has to get to her before anything else happens.
This can be read as a stand alone, but to get the full impact and back story, read book one “Howl and Growl” first. The storyline flows so well and the characters are so well defined and personable it’s hard not to relate to their personalities. This book also has a lot of action and quite steamy. A great addition to a fabulous series.
There are 2 shifter clans living close to each other peacefully for the last few years, another clan existing only in stories, vampires and changelings in this fun and exciting stoty.
I enjoyed the book a lot, and recommend the read.

This book has it all. Sex, adventure, shifters, rebels. When two adventurous wolf shifters are attacked by evil Changlings, shifters changed by a Vampire, a Bear shifter has to act. His Clan has been isolated for over 50 years, ever since Vampires arrived & killed all Bears they could find so they could occupy the Blackwood. Those remaiining took to the high mountains & isolated themselves from the rest of the world. But some Bears chafe at the restrictions. So when Jorah defies the Seers, the Clan elders, by going down the mountain, he doesn’t expect to find a fight in progress, let alone a beautiful wolf shifter who may just be his mate. Nyssa doesn’t expect to be rescued by Bear shifter. After all, there are no more Bears. They are the stuff of legend. Watch as these two literally fight the system to drag the Bear Clan onto the present, and into a peace they could never have imagined. There is sex. But nothing explicit. Although reading book 1 is advisable, this book contains enough background information to stand alone. Enjoy!

ONE INCREDIBLY WONDERFUL READ!!!
OMG! Wow! Hey guys, heads up. This is one awesome delight. If you’re looking for an action packed, fast paced, hard hitting, smooth flowing, heart pounding, pulse racing, page turning delight that’s as riveting as it is captivating. Congrats my friends you’ve found it. In a whirlwind of emotions and events really pulls those heartstrings. All the drama, uncertainty, fear, danger and suspense increases steadily while tension spirials as the plot thickens. Twists and turns abound with unexpected circumstances and unpredictable surprises that make for one thrilling experience. The characters and scenes are written with such realism it really pulls this little jewel together beautifully. Cloe did an amazing job bringing this read to life brilliantly. Fantastic job Cloe, thanks for sharing this little guy with us.
This book was good, but would have been better with a prologue. If you didn’t read the first book, it was confusing. It starts off with Nyssa chasing a changeling. However, it took a minute to figure out the cast of characters. Initially it appears that she may be daughter of the vampire. Then you realize her dad was the alpha, but still no clear understanding of why he was killed. Nor is it clear what a changeling is initially, who they are fighting for….do you see the confusion? Once you get past that, the story comes together. Jorah makes a good but naive hero. You had some unrequited love going on as well which added to the story. I also liked the other characters. I almost wished Nyx and Lowell had gotten together. I see additional stories in the future.

Cloe Cullen’s Howl and Roar, the second book in the Howl and Growl series, is following through with another great story with strong characters and interesting plot. Book 2 starts two years after the end of Book 1; after Darius becomes Alpha and the ending of the war between the Pack and Pride.
Book 2 can be read as a standalone but the reading experience is enriched if Book 1 is read first.
The wolves and cats patrol together to find and destroy the Changelings. Ah, ya, you need to read Book 1 for more detail about the Changelings – but, again, not necessary for this story. Some Pride shifters have moved to Gray Creek and it’s not unusual to see both cat and wolf sifters talking together, trading with each other and help with building new homes for the new shifters. This is mirrored at the Prides’ Red Rock.
Nyssa, the daughter of the previous Alpha and sister of Remus, and who has had a crush on Darius most of her life.
Walking together in the woods Lowell tells Nyssa of the rumors that there were survivors of the Bear Clan and they live at the top of the Northern Mountains. While bantering about the rumor they see a Changeling and attempt to follow it but loose him. Remus is patrolling for changelings with other wolves and cats so Nyssa and Lowell tell him of the changeling they chased. They join the group that then divided to search in different areas.
Lowell and Nyssa spot a Changeling; Lowell signaled to the patrol that they spotted a Changeling. Instead of waiting for the others they give chase towards the base of the mountain, but it turns out to be a trap. They were surrounded by wolf and cougars Changelings. The attack is brutal and catches the attention of Jorah. Nyssa is about to be killed when Jorah counter attacks the Changeling who is about to take her life.
The excitement continues. Read on to find out:
What is Lowell’s relationship with Nyssa?
Who is Amara?
How to tell the difference between a normal shifter and the Changelings? (No you don’t need Book 1 for this.)
Who is Jorah?
What is the purpose of the Bear Clan’s challenge?
Nyssa had been in love with Darius since her teens she had dreams of them together even after he became Alpha and had mated Amara. She often tried to be on her own but Lowell stalks her at every turn as he desires her for a mate. On one such occasion they see a changeling and chase after only to discover that it disappeared. So they inform Darius and he says that Remus Nyssa’s brother is having a mating about going after the changelings. There begins the change in Nyssa’s life.
Jorah is a frustrated bear shifter from the Northern mountains who often gets upset with the limitations the seers have set supposedly to keep them safe from the vampires that have decimated their clan. He often wanders passed those borders. On One such occasion he discovers Nyssa and Lowell being attacked and goes in to rescue Nyssa as he has a fascination with her. Such begins the struggle to change laws toto interact and form a treaty with the Pack and Pride.
Of course there is so much more to the story but I must not reveal any more details as it would ruin the story for those reading it after myself.. Ms. Cloe is somewhat of a new author to me. I have to say that I am really enjoying her stories. Myabe you will too.

The second book in the Howl And Growl Series I would like to read more in this series well-written story. This is a book I enjoyed reading. I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Jorah is a bear shifter. A species thought extinct for many years after the Vampires destroyed their homeland. Survivors of this attack retreated high into the mountains, never to return. Till now.
Nyssa is the daughter of the recently defeated wolf shifter Alpha. While hunting the changelings that have infested their homelands, Nyssa and her companion are saved by a bear shifter who has defied his clan laws and come down from the mountain. Jorah and Nyssa have a rough road to navigate and years of fear, resentment and superstition to work through on their route to the forever love that only Real Mates share. This is a Great book! The characters and world building are excellent and the storyline is fast paced and so full of danger and adventure that it will keep you flipping pages from beginning to end. I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it without compensation from any source.
Nyssa lived and hunted as a wolf in the Oldwood forest every day and still loved the calming smell of rabbits and lilacs. She thought of Darius, the current Alpha she had loved for so long, now mated to another. A male came up to her, and as they shifted and changed into clothes, Lowell asked her once again to be his mate. But she turned him down because no one else compared to Darius. As they talked, she spotted a Changeling (creatures introduced from the war with the Vampires in Book 1) and they shifted to go after it. Unfortunately, the Changeling led them into vines and thorns that kept them from catching up. They returned to Gray Creek to inform the Alpha.
Once again Dallan told Jorah not to go down the mountain; he had to avoid the wolves and cougars. His forefathers had interacted with them and he didn’t understand why they were enemies now. Rather than continue to argue, he went off to join his friends. After they had eaten and were looking for something to do, Jorah suggested the four of them go down the mountain, perfectly willing to defy the laws of the Seers!
Nyssa and Lowell headed out to find Remus who had a crew hunting for Changelings. Lowell mentioned he had heard the Bear Clan still existed up in the Northern Mountains, but it had been 50 years since the Vampires, so Nyssa didn’t think that would be true. They spotted the Changeling and gave chase, but this time they were led into a trap and were surrounded. The attackers bit and slashed them and the pain took her to the ground unconscious – as she sees a BEAR rushing toward her!
This is a really good story, with a fast-paced story line and great characters. Jorah rushes in to save the wolf shifter and takes her to a cave. He is totally smitten with the pretty woman who needs help after the vicious attack. The Seers have repeatedly warned him about going down the mountain, yet he needs help for her. What will he do? How will she react when she regains consciousness? Grab your copy and find out how the clans and packs will sort out this new information when all of them thought the others were mere legends!
Another romp into the Oldwood, this time with Nysaa and Jorah. Nyssa is the daughter of the previous Alpha, and she has an unrequited crush on the current alpha. While 2 years have passed since the last story and the wolf and cat shifters are getting along, and even the Vampires have been fairly friendly, there are still rogue changelings roaming the woods.
While on patrol, Nyssa is ambushed by a pack of changelings. Just before she is overwhelmed, a mysterious man, well, bear, comes to her rescue. Jorah is from the Bear clan, who were thought to have been wiped out by the Vampires more than 50 years before. Now, Nyssa and Jorah must bring their tribes together.
The story was engaging for the most part. There was a fair amount of hurry up and wait, and the “bad guy” seemed mostly crazy, and the resolution was a little too easy. But, I still want to come back to this world and see how things progress, perhaps with the Vampires?

This is a good story. Book two in a series it is not necessary to read the first. Nyssa is a wolf shifter who is still in love with her alpha even though he has found his mate with someone else. Jorah is a bear shifter who wants to explore the world beyond their mountain top. They are both wonderful characters and when they meet the attraction is strong. There is some steam and a lot of excitement. This is definitely a good read.

This book is a little hard to read because I hadn’t read the previous book but after the characters had been explained the first couple of chapters it became more interesting and more dynamic and is a true paranormal romance book. Even though it is a standalone book It is my recommendation to read the first in the series before this book.

Nyssa is heartsick; her Alpha, Darius has mated with Amara, the cat shifter. How a wolf could POSSIBLY want a cat is beyond Nyssa’s understanding. It wasn’t THAT long ago that the wolves and the cats were at war with each other. But Darius IS the Alpha, and his decisions are law.
Nyssa and her packmate Lowell are out on reconnaissance, looking for Changelings; the twisted beings left from the war with the Vampires several years ago. Nyssa spots one, and chases it, along with Lowell. They follow the Changeling… but it’s a trap! Under siege from all sides, Nyssa is about to fall when…
Jorah has never understood why Dallan, his adoptive father, is so determined to prevent any of the bear clan to live anywhere except on the top of the mountain. It’s always covered with snow, and cold, and food is scarce. But the word of Dallan and the other Seers is the law of the bear clan… but Jorah can’t resist bending that law, time and time again. What harm could possibly come from going to the base of the mountain, and finding other clans? Surely the Vampires are all gone now, and do the cat and wolf shifters still live? Jorah is filled with a burning curiosity. Surely there is more to life than this endless cold and deadly snow….
Nyssa thinks she’s dreaming or has died. How did she get to a cave? There’s no caves in the woods? Slowly, so slowly, Nyssa remembers. She remembers the battle with the Changelings, and the enormous grizzly bear that charged out of the woods, and LOWELL! WHERE IS LOWELL??
Jorah is captivated from his first glance at Nyssa; her blonde locks, her cerulean blue eyes, her slender curves… she calls to him in a way that no other ever has. But she’s hurt; she needs a healer. So up the mountain they go…
Oh my! Lots of action and satisfaction in this one! Steamy enough to heat up my kindle!
