This is book two of a duet and I enjoyed this book.
Joy and Brady have a history going back to A/V club in high school. When they meet again 20 years later the sparks fly. Until Brady tells her why he us there. Will he be able to fix Christmas after ruining it?
I enjoyed these characters. Joy and Brady were a fun quick read.
Oh my, I absolutely loved Joy and Brady!! They’re the cutest couple.
Joy’s bakery is shut down by Brady, whom she went to high school with, and is now a health inspector.
The rekindling of what could have been combined with Brady’s take charge personality makes this an incredible read. It’s so easy to fall in love with them. I was so wrapped up in this story that I wanted Christmas cookies afterwards…
These two went to high school together, but after a misunderstanding they never end up dating. Fast forward 20 years and they finally get their chance. She’s a baker, that has a persistent neighbor that won’t take no for an answer. Grady gets a call, because he’s a health inspector and shows up at her place. She’s the girl that got away, but he’s not letting that happen again. I love that he doesn’t waste time.
These two were sweet and sexy. For me this was a safe read, because they never actually dated in high school. No ow drama, and just a bit om drama…remember the persistent neighbor. Grady is so stinking sweet, I adored him. And he adored Joy. Shit ton of baby batter, epilogues and an hea.
Joy loves baking and she makes a decent living working out of the Cookie Cottage behind her house. That is until a stalky neighbor with power decides to file a false complaint with the city health department so she will go out with him. Brady, a guy from high school, works for the health department and takes the complaint. He had a thing for Joy back then and it hasn’t gone away. He knows the complaint is false so he decides he will do whatever it takes to help her. Joy has to decide if she can trust Brady and trust in her feelings for him.
Oh my gosh, Comfort and Joy was amazing, just like the first book in the duet! I love that this couple, like the preceding one, had feelings for each other back in high school and now they have a second chance at forever. Brady comes across as a stickler for the rules, which he also was in high school. Joy is feisty and fun but has had some hard knocks too. Watching them get together and hold on with everything they have gave me all the feels! Abby Knox is a great author and I can’t wait to read more of her work. She combines steam with heart which is a wonderful combination to keep a reader up past their bedtime. 5 stars for Comfort and Joy!
It was an okay book.. a second chance at love..
I loved this short Christmas novella. I thought the characters fell a little too quickly but I guess they did have history so why not. It’s a great read.

4.5 stars
Brady and Joy do not start out exactly great when they meet again, but that changes quickly. This short novella packs heat and humor into a few pages. Brady is a possessive alpha, there is insta-love and hot times. I love that the characters are well-developed even though this is a quick read. I love Joy’s boss-lady mentality. I love Brady’s need and ability to take care of Joy. This super sweet treat is a perfect holiday read.
Joy and Brady’s story is almost just like her friend Max and Talbot, aka Stoner’s story.
20 years ago Brady and Joy had a confrontation that had Brady convinced he wouldn’t get a chance with Joy ever again.
Now both are 38 years old and have gone their own ways.
Joy is a baker and owner of Cookie Cottage. It’s just after Thanksgiving and now Joy is swamped with Christmas orders. However, things take a turn for the worst when a health inspector comes and shuts her down and prevents her from baking to complete company orders. What makes this issue sting more is the inspector that just ruined Christmas is a grown Brady who just revs Joy’s engine.
Brady knew he should’ve taken the holiday off and gone with his family shopping. What turned into a chance to show his boss his dedication has now turned into Brady confronting the one woman who has always seemed out of reach. But he’s not there to finally ask her out, he’s there following up on an anonymous call, and to shut down the bakery until further notice.
I loved Joy and Brady.
As a teenager he wasn’t confident and even when he first met Joy again after 20 years he didn’t seem to have the confidence needed to get Joy. But he’s come to realize he’s gotta assert himself and at times calm Joy down a bit to finally get her to realize they belong together.
