An amateur sleuth with a bed and breakfast, a guest found dead, and a handsome detective husband who helps unravel the mystery in the cozy beach town of Sweetfern Harbor…
Sheffield Bed and Breakfast is buzzing with anticipation of Fiddlers arriving in Sweetfern Harbor for the East Coast Fiddler Jamboree. The event is a new one William Pendleton has arranged to draw new crowds in. Brenda looks … draw new crowds in. Brenda looks forward to guests and especially to Jake Smith who is better known as The Fiddler and grandson to the famous Abram Smith known as The Shredder. Allie Williams becomes excited to know she will check in someone so famous. As guests begin to arrive, she and Brenda sense the personalities are very different from one another.
During the first dinner when all gather to get acquainted tension arises when Mason Eads scoffs about the low esteem he holds for the type of music loved by Jake. The Fiddler defends the art. Reverend Thomas Kelly steps in and gently admonishes them for arguing in front of Brenda and the other guests. Brenda hopes the discord can be chalked up to guests’ travel fatigue.
The Jamboree promises a large crowd and good music. Brenda and Mac, her Detective husband, join friends at the park for the evening. Phyllis and William talk about the success of the night before they part company. As the Rivers approach the bed and breakfast, Brenda receives a frantic call from one of their guests. Alan Haas tells her he and his wife have discovered a dead body of Mason Eads inside the gate of the bed and breakfast.
Once interrogations begin it soon proves to Brenda her guests aren’t all they perceive to be. The Fiddler comes to the forefront of suspicion as do Mattie and Drake Cabot. The more she and Mac delve into the case of murdered Mason, the more complicated it becomes. Even the Minister becomes suspect. Brenda knows if she can find connections to the victim, she will find the killer. Shock sets in again when a bloody knife is found along with a long narrow necktie in bins behind Sheffield Bed and Breakfast. It is determined not one person killed Mason, but there were two killers. Will Brenda manage to push aside her personal feelings for each guest so to reach a conclusion of the real murderers?

This review may or may not contain spoilers. This is one of my favorite series from her. I loved that Brenda is able to help her husband Mac and the police with no problem. She even has to title as special investigator. She really is good at that job also. Her main job is owner of the Sheffield Bed and Breakfast. The town is getting ready to host the East Coast Fiddlers Jamboree and one of her guest is famous, Jake Smith.
At the first dinner everyone was excited that they had a famous player there except Mason Eads. He was real nasty about it. Some of the guest didn’t like this.
The night of the jamboree Brenda and Mac were there enjoying themselves when she gets a frantic call that Mason Eads had been stabbed on the front lawn. As the investigation begins the guest are questioned and several become suspects. Brenda starts searching those involved and finds some had lied about a connection to Mason. The pot gets blacker. They are sure a guest killed him but who. They have so many suspects.
I love this series. It is clean reading. I’m going back and reading the beginning books to find out how Brenda and Mac met. Their connection to each other is beautiful to read about. The friendship between the town’s residents is really close also. It would be a perfect town to visit or live there.

It is just another weekend at the Sheffield Bed and Breakfast with an Episcopalian priest, professional fiddler, two couples and surfer staying and one of these people will die. The villain or perhaps more will surprise you- great job by the author. There are some twists not expected and made for a super mystery read. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
Fe Fi Fiddle Die is the latest book in this great cosy mystery series. You might want to read previous books in this series to get a feel for the place and characters but that is not necessary to enjoy this book. It is a little long winded and confusing at times as there is so much going on. Overall the story is good and the characters well rounded and likeable whilst the touch of humour adds another layer. This is definitely the first book I have read about a collection of fiddlers! Sounds like fun event and murders aside it sounds like a lovely place to visit. I definitely recommend this book.

This has to be my favorite of all the books I have read in this series as there are are so many twists and I had no idea who the killer was and even when I thought I did something Brenda or Mac either found out or was told would change the direction of who did it. I was very happy just like the others in the book when one of the suspects was found to only be foolish but not involved in the murder phew!! Even though Sweetfern appears to have a rather lot of murders I would still love to go and stay at the Sheffield Bed and Breakfast!!

This is another great story by Wendy Meadows. I love the way that she writes. It is like the characters are your next door neighbor. Keep up the great work.
Really enjoyed this book. Interesting and fun characters. Good story flow. Hard to put this down. Entertaining read.

Brenda and Phyllis are getting the Sheffield Bed and Breakfast ready for a new set of guests during the East Coast Fiddler Jamboree. They have a variety of new faces arriving including a famous fiddler, a reverend, a surfer, and a number of other eclectic personalities. They soon find out that not all personalities mesh and that a few of the guests have past histories with one another. When the opinionated Mason Eads (surfer) winds up dead at the gates of the bed and breakfast, things aren’t exactly what they seem.
Brenda and her detective husband Mac soon find out that most of the guests have pasts they are keeping well-hidden and they all have a reason to see Mason dead. The more they delve into the case, the more suspects seem to come out of the woodworks. With lots of red herrings and an intricately woven storyline, you will be shocked to discover the real murderers.

turns out that a bunch of tourists staying at the B and B in Sweetfern Harbor were not nearly as much strangers to each other as they said.
A fiddle player, various salespeople and retirees, including a clergyman of doubtful repute, all collect themselves at the B and B run by Detective Mac and his wife Brenda.
A tragedy of hurt feelings and betrayals are ultimately a part of several deaths, larceny, malfeasance, and general mayhem crossing international boundaries.
Vengeance against one ugly man was ultimately taken by a few folks who were not without sin themselves, leading to the detainment of several wrongdoers.
A strange thing that so many would congregate at the home of a lead detective.
None of this seems to dampen the enthusiasm that Brenda has for planning the wedding and reception of her father – a busy couple all around!
If you enjoy convoluted mysteries, with lots of backstories, some tragedy and some humor, this might be your next great read!
