I love this cover
This one will keep you up all night.
A nice love story of a man cursed to some for 500 years. A woman away a loss trying to find her way to have a great job fall in her lap. She starts conversing with the stone statue unaware that he can hear her…. love blossoms and the rest is history as they say. Great story…
Sweet story about 2 lost souls finding each other at great odds. Lexi having losing a job so a family member could have it is at a loss. She’s down on her luck but things look up for her when she acquires a job at an art gallery. Lexi goes to the park nearby and is drawn to a certain gargoyle. Roul is a bit privileged and finds himself cursed to live as a gargoyle until he finds someone who could love him. He’s a protector and once he sees Lexi he is smitten but could she ever love him and break the curse? I enjoyed both characters and its full of excitement and mystery. I highly recommend and love the writing.
This is a great book, it quickly drew me in and kept me turning the pages. I enjoyed getting to know these characters and follow along on their journey. There is plenty to enjoy in this story.
Can the love of a woman really penetrate Roul Jourdan’s stone heart and break a 500 year curse?
Lexi’s life isn’t going exactly as planned. After working 5 years at her job, she’s recently found herself in the unemployment line. Determined to keep her independence and her pride in tact she doesn’t let herself settle at rock bottom for long and soon finds herself rewarded with a job offer as an office manager in an art gallery. But what keeps her interest during the day, specifically lunch, is the gargoyle statue in the park across from her new workplace. For reasons unknown, Lexi finds herself drawn to him and talking to him even thought it makes her look crazy.
Although he’s cursed to be stone during the day, Roul can still hear everything going on around him. From the minute Roul saw Lexi he felt a pull to her, but resigned himself to a fate of stone. However, there are forces determined to hurt Lexi, and as a designated guardian of the city Roul is determined to protect Lexi no matter what.
My only big complaint about this book was at the end, the author mentioned that the curator of the gallery was in cohorts with a Tony…Who is this Tony person? Was he maybe the previous manager that had quit? It just seemed weird to drop this name at the end of the book as if the reader was suppose to know who he was.
Very well written. The story flowed nicely into each piece. There was a scene or two that I felt could have been left out or wasn’t needed, the story line was great without them. But overall it was a very enjoyable read. I will definitely be reading more from this author.
A very well written Novella, I loved the characters and how they were portrayed. I got lost in the story and felt I was there. I loved the Novella.
For the past five hundred years, Roul has protected the innocent in whatever city he is in. Spotting Lexi, his heart starts beating again. Even though he knows the cure for the curse, he believes no woman could ever love him as he is. Well, beauty did love the beast.
Fun pleasant read. Exciting and enduring. This story grabs you and holds on. The characters are well developed and thought out.
An exciting story filled with suspense and romance. I enjoyed the concept and loved the characters. Their relationship was sweet and fun to read.
A young woman , lonely with a single friend but nobody else in her life until she gets a new job in an art gallery. But even better, she finds a park that has statues of many creatures but a gargoyle catches her eye and it becomes something to talk to even though it seems strange yet comforting at the same time. Roul was cursed 500 years ago and feels that it will never end, but something strange happens. A young woman visits him while on her lunch break and he is intrigued by her. But when Lexi is attacked, Roul takes her to a hospital and from them on watches over her. This story is about two different people , one lost in life, the other trapped in stone, how they meet, know, feel and trust the other. Even though they are very different, they are drawn to each other at different times. There is good, bad, love, hope, violence, and more in Heart of Stone. I loved it and it is worth every minute of reading it. Madison Granger has a winner in this book and I hope to be reading more of these books. Thank you for writing this wonderful book.
I enjoyed this story. It was very well written and the story flowed well. There was a mystery element within the story which I enjoyed.
This book starts out in France 1545 and Roul is cursed by a spurned lover. Fast forward 500 years and many miles away in Louisiana Roul the statue has been bought and sold many times and is now in Louisiana.
Lexi acquires a job at an art gallery and who should be in the park across from work but Roul. She has always loved gargoyles so she eats lunch there, talks to him and sketch’s him. He loves hearing her voice after years of not having anyone talk to him. At night He watches over the city and Lexi. Roul saves Lexi from more than one encounter and exposes himself to her in doing so. She wants to know his story and finds she cares for him. Lexi is not willing to give up on Roul even if he wants to give up on himself.
Gargoyles are intriguing to me and I just loved Lexi and Roul’s story. Roul’s origin as a gargoyle was interesting. This is a well written suspenseful story.
4 out of 5 stars
Ok I have found my new paranormal genre to read . Roul d Jourdan has been cursed to live as a stone statue to watch over the people. To be a Gargoyle during the day and guardian over the city at night . Until the day that a beautiful woman that loves him for him and unconditionally . Lexi is as low as they can go until the day she gets her dream job and finds Roul’s statue in the park where she talks and admires the lone statue. They are thrown together by chance but love will help them through .Will the curse be broken and will they haved their happily ever after
I really got invested in these two characters, they are both tortured souls in their own way. Roul well at the beginning he was a rascal , strong, sexy and kind of arrogant . When you meet him as a gargoyle, he is still sexy but also more into saving the city instead of trying to break the curse . Lexie well we see her at her lowest point . She comes off a little naive through out the book . Also she always seems to be in the wrong place at the wrong time . They are a fun couple to read . You will like them a lot .
This is a short read that will have turning pages . The author takes us on an emotional roller coaster ride . I actually had a couple of tears rolling down my cheeks on what happens to poor Lexie . This girl goes through so much and still is standing at the end . The only thing that i wish it was just a little longer and a little more in depth . I truly enjoyed this book and i am now in love with Gargoyles . So if you want a short fun read with some really good characters and you like Gargoyles check out this book . You will like it
