Melody Bryant has heard it all before. Sure, she’s the epitome of the stereotype for a librarian. Loves order. Loves rules and deadlines. Loves books. But what she doesn’t love is still being a virgin at twenty-four. Unfortunately, the only guy she’s ever been interested in turned her down flat. And then left town. Eight. Years. Ago. Ugh. Now her birthday is fast approaching, and she just can’t … and she just can’t take it any longer. She’s finding a guy before her birthday in five weeks, or she’s adopting two more cats and fully embracing becoming “the crazy cat lady.”
But when her latest date ends in epic failure–everyone thinks of her as the “proper librarian”–she realizes what she needs is to ruin her reputation. And she knows the perfect guy to help her: the baddest bad boy in town. This Army vet won’t know what hit him…

This sweet romance was cute and fun to read. Melody Bryant is the town good girl and she’s sick of it. Sure she may be a librarian and likes her world orderly and neat but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t want to have a little fun.
Being a twenty four year old virgin with no prospects in sight has her coming up with a crazy plan. Adam Foster may be her best friends brother but he’s still the only guy who has ever tempted her. After turning down her advances in the past he owes her so who better than Adam to teach her everything she needs to know about seducing a man? Let the fun times begin!
I highly recommend this one.
Melody is a successful woman being the librarian but she finds herself in a rut. She is 24 and still a virgin and she desperately wants to change this status by her next birthday in a few short weeks. Her ideal candidate is Adam, her brother’s best friend. Her friend Lilly helps her realize that she needs a makeover. Even though Melody loves how she dresses, it doesn’t inspire a great romance with her more conservative look. Now, I love that Melody approaches Adam and asks for his help. Adam has always noticed Melody but since she is his best friend’s brother, he would never date her. When she asks him for help to lose her virginity, well, it is pretty priceless and puts him on alert. The thought of someone else being with Melody doesn’t sit right with him. I love the natural connection these two share, especially as Adam takes her for her makeover and shopping. There are many sweet moments between these two and Melody finds a new part of herself as she embraces the changes. Now, will Adam be willing to break the ‘code’ and admit how he really feels for Melody? I had fun with this couple and enjoyed their sexy flirtation. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
This is the first book by this author I have read, and I must say, I loved it.
Melody Bryant is approaching her 25th birthday. She’s a librarian, only has disastrous first dates, and dresses like an older woman. But now she has decided it’s time to make changes.
Adam Foster is the town’s bad boy, now a hometown hero after returning from Afghanistan where he served with James, Melody’s brother, and is also his business partner.
Melody and Adam have known each other since they were kids and she’s been crushing on him forever. So when she decides she needs lessons on how to get a man , she chooses Adam as her teacher.
Needless to say, that’s when things get and complicated.
The plot was engaging from the start, and the characters well developed. The story was at times heartbreaking but also heartwarming. Especially when we learn about Adam’s childhood and his belief of not being good enough and unlovable.
Will they find their HEA or will the past and loyalties to her family hinder that happiness?
I am looking forward to what else the author has in store for us. Hoping that James and Lily get their story.
I was entrusted a copy of this book by Netgalley and Entangled Publishing. The opinions expressed are solely my own
4 Star Review of How To Seduce A Bad Boy by Traci Douglas
Traci Douglas is a new author to me. This was a fun, entertaining and read; a friends to lovers story.
Melody Bryant is determined to loose her virginity and she has just the man to help her in her quest, Adam Foster. Well if she can convince him that is.
Adam is her older brother’s best friend. The fact that Mel has been in love with Adam for years does not help as Adam believes that he is not good enough for her.
Coerced into helping Mel with her complete makeover, Adam has no idea what he is in for.
I liked the characters of Mel and Adam and the story flowed well.
Although at times I felt that the story was a little slow, this was a sweet romance that had me smiling and overall it was enjoyable.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book through NetGalley from the publisher.
“She might’ve overstated the whole ‘having a plan’ part, but it was too late now. Let Project Seduce Adam Foster begin.”
If you’re looking for a sweet, small town, New Adult romance then How to Seduce a Bad Boy may be for you.
Based on the blurb, I was expecting something very different from Melody and Adam’s story. I liked elements of the story – opposites-attract, best-friend’s-sibling, military – but found it trite, angsty and repetitive.
The story had good potential but didn’t come together to form a compelling, emotional story where I felt any connection to the characters. Therefore, I was disappointed based on my assumptions of the story from the blurb. But I’m still intrigued to know Lily’s story, so I might pick it up just to find out what happened between her and James.
If you’re looking for a sexy contemporary romance, you’ll want to pass on How to Seduce a Bad Boy.
2 to 2.5 stars
My first book by this author but it won’t be my last. Brothers best friend storyline had me hooked right from the start. Loved Melody and Adam. Hope Lilly’s story is next.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC received via NetGalley.
The title doesn’t really match the book. The bad boy was Melody’s brothers best friend and she goes to him because she is going to be 25 and a virgin and wants him to help gather other guys interest, yes she has always had a crush on him (Adam) and she apparently offered herself to him years ago before he went to Army but he declined and she has been in a slump, she dresses dowdy and is a librarian and guys just do not see her as someone to have a relationship with. So in an act of desperation she asks Adam to help her, she was pathetic and stayed pathetic thru out the book. Adam does not do love he is a playboy and the whole town knows and he has always seen Melody as off limits, but he knows if he doesn’t help her she will get another guy and wont be able to protect her, that is his reasoning anyway. As they spend time she wants more, and he does too but doesn’t want to lose his bestfriend and the business they have together. He was willing to dump Melody for it, he was also willing to lose his business not to jeopardize it. They end up working everything out, and even though this book was just ok I want to know what happens with Jag and also Melody’s brother James, but I hope those guys have a back bone and their love interest are stronger.
Rcvd an ARC at no cost to author..(netgalley) Voluntarily reviewed with my own thoughts and views.
Mel’s plan is to convince Adam, the guy she has been secretly in love with for almost ten years, to tutor her on the ways of flirting to attract and date a man. What can go wrong? She is a 24 year old virgin and he is her brother’s best friend. She is the good girl and he is the town’s bad boy. They are opposite in almost every way. But like a magnet to metal they can’t help but be attracted to each other. The story is funny and the characters are well developed. The series has wonderful potential with many characters with great stories to tell. It is fast paced and keeps the reader interested. Mel and Adam get the outcome they were seeking and are looking forward to marriage and babies.

How to Seduce a Bad Boy by Traci Douglass was a refreshing read and I really loved it plus I can’t wait to read Lily and James’s story.
Melody Bryant is tired of being the Plain Jane librarian of Point Beacon plus with her 25th birthday fast approaching she wants to get a complete makeover. She knows just who can do it her brother best friend Adam Foster who she’s had a crush on since she was 14 years old. But can she convince him?
Adam Foster is the bad boy who with his former Army team mates has built a respected business Victory Vets auto repair. When he hears Melody’s proposal he knows that he’ll have to figure out a way to decline because he knows the golden rule no dating the best friend’s sister. It’s a little e he doesn’t want to cross but little does he know that he’ll soon become more than just her coach to become glamorous.
Melody Bryant is destined to be an old cat lady unless she makes some changes quick. She wants to fall in love but only one man fits that category and that is Adam. A man who has made it more then obvious he is not interested. Deciding she needs help with a make over her life she enlists Adam, who has a reputation as a bad boy, for help on pointers. Problem is Adam has feelings for Melody that continue to rise as they get close but Adam feels he can’t go there with Melody since he is best friends with her brother. Can he come to terms with his feelings and realize that if he doesn’t change his thinking he could lose her forever.
This was fun, I am always a sucker for makeover books. Melody is sweet and I get why Adam was reluctant but Melody is a force to be reckoned with when she wants something. Some of the scenes are pretty hilarious.
The story kept me turning the pages!
Although it was a tried and true storyline, I found it bland and anti-climatic.
