*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.
I have to say there is all kinds of stuff going on in this book from the very first page. The reader is thrown into a world of magic, shifters, and chaos that will take them on a fantasy trip that they will never see coming. Does contain some triggers essential to the story line that may not work for everyone. Great for fans of the genre. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.
Oh my goodness!! For this author’s debut book she knocked it out of the park! This book was hot and steamy and I would love to have five, yes I said that right, five dragons shifters of my own. But under all the passion and scorching scenes all of the characters have a vulnerability that drew me in. I can’t wait for the next installment of the series considering it ended in a cliffy. Absolute fantastic debut!! I highly recommend reading this!
Let’s start off by saying this is a new author for us and we really enjoyed our first read by them.I have to say that although I have read some Reverse Harem books in the past I have never read one in the paranormal gene, but, I am really glad I choose this book to venture there. We really loved that this was a werewolf clan of alpha shifters that were mostly women who were interbreeding with other clans like the dragons and choosing them for their mates. What will there children be like? The Alpha clans are trying to save their clan from extinction and perhaps this is the way.
I loved the story from beginning to end and we loved all the characters they were totally awesome .Abby had choosen some smokin hot sexy dragon mates like Shaun,Kaleb,Justin,Marcus,Kaden who were all different and each one of them carried a unique magic element that made them even more special.Marcus had to be my favorite though as he had my mouth watering the entire story with his food porn lol but, we loved them all.
The story had a great plot had tons of drama and a really touching love story. We loved that Abby’s men courted her for months and were getting to know her and falling in love and also connecting and bonding with her all the while taking care of her sexual needs without actually having sex. Omg ! their were so many fun sexy scenes that made us laugh out loud. Can you just imagine 5 sexy hot sexy dragons tauting a women’s lady parts for months on end ? lol
We loved Abby she was known as her Clans Alpha second in command to her mother the head Alpha and she was well loved and respected and had some amazing friends like Chey and Cara who knew to party and have a good time as well as having some really fun girls nights which brought us tons of laughs every time these women got together.
The story was one hot read and the chemistry between Abby and her 5 dragons made for some really hot sexy scenes. This story was awesome in our book and really engaging right from the onset of the set of the story and we were still engrossed in it to the very end.We loved the mystery and the magic that the story wrought as well as all the twists and turns the story took and learning that the people all around Abby were betraying her trust time and time again.By the end of the story so many secrets kept coming to light and we were finding out that their is someone or someones that are still out their wanting to hurt Abby and perhaps her clan.Something sinister is definitely in the wind but, time will tell as the story ended on a bit of a cliffhanger and Abby’s story is not over just yet and we can’t wait to see what happens next.
I will say that this new debut author did and amazing job with creating this engrossing tale for us to love and she defiantly made us fall in love with the characters she created for us .
A job Well done !
Recommended read to all!
Holy fu** this was a helluva ride. Once I started I couldn’t stop. So yet another night has gone by reading and I’m writing a review at 7am.
Damn I want five dragon shifters of my own. This book was scorching hot. I need an ice bath, chocolate and some dragons. I can even live with the cliffhanger. The last part of the book ruined my underwear and it had me sitting on the edge of my seat full of nervous energy. I have no idea how I’m going to sleep now or how I’ll recover from the book hangover.
Anyone that loves a medium/fast burn paranormal romance should immediately one click this book. I can’t wait for the next book to come out.
I love reverse harem books. Blood Moon Magic is a prime example of what I love about them. I love the connection between every member of the relationship. How they each bring something unique to the relationship and are appreciated for it. I love how they all work together to make the relationship a success and there is an abundance of love and support. It doesn’t hurt that these books are always super hot and steamy either.
This story kept things going at a great pace and had me hooked every moment of reading. I loved all the main characters and quite a few of the secondary. There are bad guys to dislike and some of them are really bad. Some have a change of heart and turn out to not be as bad or are a product of their horrible upbringing. But all of it makes for a great story that I devoured every available moment I had.
Blood Moon Magic is the first in this series from the debut author. It tells the story of Abby, the fated Alpha in their pack. For years, the wolf pack numbers are dwindling and her mother, Megan, the present Alpha of Dama de Noches made a contract with Wyvern Clan (dragons) as possible mates for the Claiming. There are lies, deceits, betrayals, drama and loads of steamy scenes afoot, so sit back, grab your beverage of choice and dive in to this baby.
Okay, I must confess that Abby’s character irk me a bit at first. BUT (and that’s a big BUT) after several chapters in, I kinda get why she was acting like that. She was feeling the pressure of being the fated Alpha, she must do well to find a perfect mate(s) from the dragon clan, she was scared of falling in love and end up devastated like her mother among other things. It is not helping that her mother and aunt are being vague with her father’s identity too.
Aside from that, the story was engaging, there was world building and characters are relatable. It is written in multiple POV and you can definitely feel their angst, emotions, know their behavior as to how it relates to the whole of the story. I must also say that I enjoyed reading this. It manages to encompass everything needed in a great read: romance, action, drama, funny moments, paranormal stuff, sexy times. That is one massive feat for one book and this is just the beginning.
Overall, I’ll continue with this series and looking forward to the next installment.
This is the first book in the Elements of the Twilight series and it was amazing! The book grabs your attention right from the beginning full of action, suspense, love and sacrifice. If you love shifter reverse harem books you won’t be disappointed. I highly recommend this book and can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
and and Oh My!
This is a reverse harem romantic suspense
I can’t think of anything that doesn’t happen within these pages
Betrayal and Envy – Kidnapping and Torture
Lust (lots of lust) and Love – Greed and Manipulation – Power struggles and let us not forget all the secondary story lines taking place.
Carmichael has crafted quite the inventive universe with Blood Moon Magic. It has shifters and witches and magic and the mundane. Her characters were well crafted – each was given a vibrant personality that not only complimented the story line but also appeals to the reader.
Definitely entertains and engages.
This is a first in series and Carmichael doesn’t hold back – she just throws her readers in the deep end and occasionally tosses you a preserver only to rip it away a chapter later – I’m serious –
This starts out a bit slow but IMO it is a bit necessary. There are a lot of details and background information that the reader needs to be able to immerse themselves in the multitude of plot lines as well as to connect to the various characters and personalities that make up the cast. It isn’t just Abby and her men, though they hold the spotlight, who take starring roles in this series. With the setting up of breadcrumb trails for future plot lines, it is a bit of information to put in one book – it works – I would rate this as an easy read because it is easy to follow what is happening even with all the “No” and “WTH” moments
I did have a bit of problem with some of the characters regarding their maturity level, they are in their late 20’s early 30’s but at times they act like teenagers. There are a couple of scenes that IMO needed a bit more enlightenment- Scenes where past experiences and traumas were brought to light, The why of the Elders? Pack law which seemed one-sided (You have to read I do not want to risk spoilers). To me these are important details that molded the character into who he/she was.I also have questions about the “darkness” Why? How? Origination?
I am looking forward to book two to see what direction the author takes us
The copy I read was comp
This author is new to me. Having read the blurb I knew that I had to read it and Im so glad that I did.
This book has all requirements that are needed in a reverse harem read…
Multiple individual hawt dudes
A kick ass heroine who is sassy enough to keep her boys in their toes
Peril
Heart ache
What I was not expecting was the fantastic ‘almost slow burn…but not’ that the author created, that not only raises the chemistry between Abigail and her guys but also enabled a wonderful development of connection between them.
This emotional connection was well constructed and an absolute pleasure to read….. What really knocked my socks off was the brilliant underlying story.
That was not only a gripping and intriguing paranormal romp of epic proportions but an emotion filled read with heart ache and pain… both physical and emotional…fresh and old… #NoSpoilers… although at times being a light and fluffy read with moments of true humour…this is so much more, it’s also dark and twisty….consider yourself trigger warned.
I absolutely loved the way the author allowed us to gain insight and perspective into each of her characters with their individual chapters. Not only did it bring further dimension to the book with off shoot story arcs but also enabled the characters to develop beyond more that what they first appeared.
After reading this book, I suffered the mother of book hangovers… left with so many part answers, questions and shock at that fantastically dramatic ending.
BRAVO AUTHOR…I’m HOOKED… I cannot wait to see how the author continues with this series and it’s many branching story arcs.
I’m excited to read more.
Blood moon ceremony…Amazingly well written story of a young woman who is next in line to be the Alpha of her wolf pack. She is then claimed by 5 seriously hot Dragons. With the pack populations dwindling, people are anxious to see what comes from this Blood Moon ceremony. Through in some jealous other clans, parental lies, some super intimate times and BAM! great book. Steam 10/10/ * Sweet 10/10 * Alt 1st POV * RH * Cliffhanger
WOW!! This book was amazing. I couldn’t put it down. It’s so well written and you are completely drawn into the story. Abby is a strong alpha to be and must choose to mate with dragons to save her race. What she doesn’t expect is 5 mates and how her feelings will grow. There are things are work against her. Her mother has made a deal with the Elders. There is some really hot scenes. Which I thoroughly enjoyed; but there’s also danger and hurt.
I enjoyed this book. It has a lot of steam and fun. The world building was intriguing with some different aspects to that world that I had not seen before. Abby was definitely a strong heroine, accepted her future. As her claimed mates, Shaun, Marcus, Justin, Kaleb, and Kaden, taught her more about herself, she realized there was more to her life. Deception, surprises, danger, and family kept me wanting to read more.
I received an ARC through Enticing Journey Book Promotions, and this is my unsolicited review.
Witches, wolves, dragons, OH MY! Blood Moon Magic is a shifter tale that is unlike any I have read so far. There is drama and strong kicka** women, and lots of sex…. well lots of sex without out actually having sex, let’s just say this book is sexy hot and has nothing to do with the dragon’s fire. Blood Moon Magic is not a quick read but is so worth the time you will spend reading it. It does leave off on a cliff hanger making you wonder if the heroine Abby is as gone as she appears to be. Blood Moon Magic by Isobelle Carmichael is worth all 5 magical stars.
With shifters that are dying out because the Elders are taking their powers the shifters are having to resort back to a practice they haven’t done in ages, cross breeding. Now a strong female dominate wolf pack needs to find a group to have the Claiming ceremony with and the only group strong enough to take on these powerful women is a clan of dragon shifters. When Abby the next alpha, finds that her wolf has claimed not one but five dragons, she’s not quite sure how to handle the overwhelming amount of testosterone. Now with another pack out against them, the Elders secretly working to steal their magic Abby and her dragons must figure out a way to save her life and the life of her pack during the Blood Moon ceremony.
5 Cranky Stars
I AM GIVING THIS STORY 5 STARS. It is a little different than most werewolf tales. It also is not suitable for young adults due to the detailed sexual situations. The story is well written and the characters are likeable.
Megan is the Alpha of a clan of werewolves that are mostly women. The whole Were world is in danger of disappearing due to the constant drain on their powers by the Council of Elders. Megan’s daughter Abigail is the hope of the whole Race, but she must be claimed and bonded by the end of her 25th year. That is approaching quickly. There are no wolf tribes that will mate with a female Alpha and Abigail is exactly that. At the last minute a deal is made with the Wyvern (dragon) Clan. The men of that clan include the son of the clan chief who is also an Alpha.
Once the claiming is set up, the candidates meet at the claiming ceremony and history is changed forever. Abigail claims 5, her best friend claims 4 and most of the others claim 2. In previous years, these ceremonies have resulted in no claims. Now, if everything goes right, the bonding will occur over the next 2 months and the Blood Moon Ceremony will seal the mating. Of course if everything went right, there would be no story so you’ll have to read the book. It left me wanting more and it sounds like there will be a book 2.
I started this book and never set it down until I finished it. Phew! What an adventure, and there’s more to come. There are so many twists and turns in this story; some are revealed at the end of the book and some aren’t, forcing me to wait on the mystery.
Abby is an alpha wolf shifter, daughter to her mother, the alpha of her pack. Her mother has purposely misled Abby as to the true nature of her birth and her father. Why? The High Priestess of the Elders thinks Abby’s powers will elevate her to a god-plane, but will she?
Abby claims five dragon shifter mates in a claiming ceremony, and she comes to love all of them. The men have elemental powers that will mesh with hers and together will they either free the dying packs from the rule of the Elders or will they destroy them all? I loved this imaginative and truly unique reverse harem story. Highly recommended.
This was a great, powerful and very steamy book and I enjoyed it immensely. Every single page. I have to put a warning label though: This is not for sensitive readers, as there are some heavy violent uncensored scenes in this book, as well as explicit steamy scenes with multiple partners. Also a warning for cliffhanger haters, the book ends on a really good one.
I have no idea where to start admiring this author’s work. First of all, her writing is impeccable, the plot she created is intriguing, solid and original, the characters are well developed, and the world is well built. On top of that, the author gives a raw, uncensored depiction of violence, sex, emotions, and everything that goes on in various kinds of relationships. She does not shy away from vividly describing misogyny, domestic abuse, and plain sadistic torture and trauma they cause in survivors. The author clearly defines the differences between consensual sex and sadistic abuse, and I applaud her for it. There is no possibility for any reader to confuse the two. Some of the scenes are so vivid and difficult to read, as opposed to the others which are as equally vivid, as they are steamy and wonderful to read.
The characters are wonderfully developed and defined, even the ones you just can’t help but hate from the start. There is hardly any black and white about the characters, but mostly in between, apart from maybe two or three characters which are clearly defined as all good or all bad. Mostly there is good and bad in everyone, and whichever prevails, depends on their personal agenda. There are so many secrets, so many misguided actions, fear, betrayal, and then there is so much love, loyalty, self-sacrifice, atonement. The book is simply brimming with emotions.
The main character is Abby, a daughter of the pack alpha and the future alpha of the female shifter pack, which breaks from the traditional patriarchal structure. She is strong and powerful, determined and loyal, loving and caring, and ruthless when she needs to be. The rest of the characters are incredibly interesting as well, which is emphasised by the way the author gradually reveals their characters, their pasts and their secrets. These secrets form the best part of the plot as they cause the unexpected twists and turns in reader’s perception of the events.
So plot that starts as something usual and expected, gradually grown into a completely original and unexpected story that leaves the reader breathless. So much happens in this story, I loved every page of it. And did I mention how steamy the story is? This is definitely one of the steamiest stories out there. And definitely one of the most interesting stories as well. Amazing debut. I seriously can’t wait for the next book.
Blood Moon Magic was a fabulous beginning to the Elements of Twilight Series. Abby starts off right from the beginning as being strong kickass FMC who finds her hot sexy men to support her. This is a fabulous new twist on the normal PNR genre. Excellent plot and storyline, character interactions/development, intrigue, and entertaining.
From the moment I picked it up, I was engrossed and unable to put it down. So excited for Book 2 to see how the story progresses. I could not recommend this book enough and feel that it is a must-read for any RH, PNR fan. Well done, Ms. Carmichael, WELL DONE!!
AWESOME start to a new Reverse Harem Series!!
I can’t wait to see what happens next…
