“[Thayne] engages the reader’s heart and emotions, inspiring hope and the belief that miracles are possible.” —Debbie MacomberNew York Times bestselling author RaeAnne Thayne returns to Haven Point to bring readers another heartwarming and inspiring story of Christmas romance—this time for Luke and Elizabeth Hamilton, a couple greatly in need of holiday healing and the magic of Christmas!Hearts … greatly in need of holiday healing and the magic of Christmas!
Hearts are lighter and wishes burn a little brighter at Christmas…
Elizabeth was trapped in a tangle of postpartum depression and grief after the death of her beloved parents and she couldn’t quite see the way back to her husband and their two beautiful kids…until a car accident stole away her memories and changed her life.
And when she finally remembered the sound of little Cassie’s laugh, the baby powder smell of Bridger, or the feel of her husband’s hand in hers, Elizabeth worried that they’d moved on without her. That she’d missed too much. That perhaps she wasn’t the right mother for her kids or wife for Luke, no matter how much she loved them.
But now, seven years later, Luke finds her in a nearby town and brings Elizabeth back home to the family she loves, just in time for Christmas. And being reunited with Luke and her children is better than anything Elizabeth could have imagined.
As they all trim the tree and bake cookies, making new holiday memories, Elizabeth and Luke are drawn ever closer. Can the hurt of the past seven years be healed over the course of one Christmas season and bring the Hamiltons the gift of a new beginning?

It just wouldn’t be Christmas without a RaeAnne Thayne Christmas story. Thayne is gifted at writing contemporary small-town romances with lots of heart and warm feelings. Her Haven Point stories are favorites of mine, and Coming Home for Christmas is definitely one for the keeper shelf. I’ve loved meeting the people of Haven Point and then revisiting them in subsequent books. Luke and Elizabeth’s story is so poignant and heart-wrenching, yet I loved the sweet uplifting messages of forgiveness, second chances, and the power of love. Although both Luke and Elizabeth are broken and hurting, they work together toward healing themselves and their family.
With well-drawn, realistic, and multi-layered main characters, and a colorful and delightful cast of secondary characters, this story comes alive on the page. While the background story is tragic and emotional, the overwhelming takeaway of the spirit of Christmas and family is uplifting and heartwarming. I recommend this book to those who enjoy clean contemporary romance.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy from the publisher/NetGalley. All opinions are my own.
Sometimes, a book comes along that reminds you of the love and magic that fills the holiday season. Coming Home For Christmas is a lovely story about forgiveness, redemption and the healing power of family.
I read an advanced copy of this book
Coming Home for Christmas is a story about second chances, family, healing and forgiveness.
This is a beautifully written story that will definately tear at your heart strings and expose raw emotions. RaeAnne Thayne had created loveable characters you cant help but cheer for.
I do have to say I did struggle with this book at times because I am a mom of two little ones and it felt unrealistic at times.
I recieved an ARC and this is my honest opinion.
This is a book that defines the “spirit of Christmas” for me. It is one of those books that IMPACTS a reader long after you have read it. I will remember this story and the characters for many years to come. You hear about postpartum depression but you don’t really know the depths that a woman can sink to and what she is capable of thinking, feeling and doing when it hits. We tend to think that she can control her thoughts and actions and just “get over it”. Sadly, that is not always true. In this story, the author confronts postpartum depression head on and shows how deeply it can effect some women. I hope that doesn’t scare off any readers because this book is amazing! The characters are realistic, loving, tender, yet also, angry and frustrated! Seven years ago Elizabeth suffered from postpartum depression and rather than hurt her baby, she walked away from her family without telling them but then other things happened to her and they’ve had no idea where she was. She has suffered physically and mentally a great deal. Her husband, Luke, finally gets a tip that leads him to her and justifiably he’s angry, thinking she just walked away willingly. When the whole story comes out, everyone, including the reader will be touched immeasurably. The harsh words and anger were hard to read at times but that is realistic! That’s what would happen in real life. However, Elizabeth is an amazing person and I loved how she stood up to it all and did what she could to repair the relationship with Luke and her children. A MUST READ!!!!
I received an ARC from NetGalley and a hard copy from the author, this is my voluntary review of Coming Home for Christmas. This is a fabulously wonderful book exploring love, pain, and forgiveness. No one writes a love story better than RaeAnne Thayne!!! Coming Home is a book that you want to end but you don’t want to end. I’m so sad when I finish one of That he’s books but my heart is happy! I highly recommend this book to all readers. Enjoy!
Welcome back to Haven Point!
We finally have Luke & Elizabeth’s story. I remember when the author had that little teaser in the last chapter of A Soldier’s Secret and I kept thinking it was going to be complete torture having to wait for their story, but the time is finally here and it was so worth the wait!
I have loved all the Haven Point books, but this one was my favorite.
Oh the feels! Tissues will be needed.
If you’ve been following along with this series, then you would have already met Luke in The Cottages on Silver Beach. Luke has been under a cloud of suspicion with most of the people in Haven Point. Seven years ago, his wife disappeared and was never seen again. Most of the town thinks he murdered her, but he knows differently. He went to sleep one night and when he woke, she was gone. Seven years later and with the help of his sisters boyfriend, Luke finally has an address for his missing wife and just in time too. There’s a new DA and she is out for Lukes blood. She plans to arrest him for the murder of his wife, even if she doesn’t have the evidence to support it. Luke decides right then and there to go get his wife and drag her back to Haven Point to clear his name.
Elizabeth’s story is a hard one. It deals with deep depression, postpartum, a tragic accident, and shame. It was heartbreaking to read. I want to keep this review spoiler free, and to do that, I cannot go into any more details. The reader should experience Elizabeth’s story when she tells it.
This was such an emotional book, but it was also full of hope, forgiveness and love.
Coming Home for Christmas was well written, fast-paced and such a pleasure to read.
