Ashley & Patti are getting a food truck!! How awesome is that? It’s great until there’s a murder but we know that Ashley will stick her nose in and try to solve the case. I love this series! The only thing wrong with it is it doesn’t come with the food that they talk about in the book. I think maybe Ms. Scott should start a box subscription with each new book that includes the book with the treats mentioned in the book. It would be great to sit down and read while eating what you’re reading about. Now that would be AWESOME!!
I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
I am a fan of Sandi Scott’s Seagrass Sweets cozy mystery series as well as her Pet Portraits cozy mystery series too. Charlotte Murder has Patty & Ashley purchasing a food truck! I had never heard of food trucks. My husband says they are very popular for lunch at his job!! I think it’s great that Patty & Ashley can expand their food business in this way. I learned a lot from this book about food trucks. Unfortunately the owner of the truck business is found dead. Ashley does a good job digging around to solve the mystery.
One thing I really like about cozy mysteries are all the side characters & side plots going on too. Ashley’s boyfriend Ryan is acting strangely & we find out at the end of the book why! It is a big surprise but I will not spoil it for you! I also like learning about different French foods in this series. Who knew what a Charlotte cake is & the different types? I didn’t!! Now if only the books came with samples!
An enjoyable cozy mystery with all the best elements of a good cozy with a mystery to solve, clean writing, interesting characters, appealing food & a couple dogs (Dizzy & Dash) to add a nice touch for the pet lovers out there!
I have received an advanced readers copy & my opinion expressed here is all my own!
Ashley and Patty have another murder mystery when they are buying a food truck to expand their business. Great introduction and interactions between characters as always. I love this series and can hardly wait for the next one! I recommend all of Sandi Scott’s cozy mysteries!
Very interesting story with good character development centered around a close group of friends. With all the talk of food especially desserts it is not conducive to dieting. ( I did have to take a break and bake a cake). I enjoyed the book very much and recommend it. I received this book for free. It is on Kindle Unlimited.
Ashley and Patty are finally ready to buy their Food Truck. Unfortunately, when they go to buy the truck, the price is much higher than initially quoted. They are referred to a different dealer with a warning to be wary. The new dealer is New Again Vans and Trucks, owned by Barney Smerna. They find a truck that they like and take it to Patty’s mechanic to have it checked out. Finding the truck to be in good shape, they return to Barney’s lot and make a down payment, planning to pick up the truck at 9:00 AM the next morning.
Ashley is also worried by her boyfriend, Ryan’s, ERRATIC behavior lately. He seems distracted and tries to play if off as working with an unreasonable client.
When Ashley and Patty return the next morning, the lot is still closed and Barney is nowhere to be found. When Barney’s assistant, Ray Summers, shows up, all three go looking for Barney. They find him in his trailer … dead. At first it appears that he may have died of natural causes, but the coroner says he was suffocated.
Who killed Barney? Why was he killed? Can Ashley figure out the mystery? What is causing Ryan’s erratic behavior?
This story has multiple sub-plots to keep you interested throughout the book. The situations are not only realistic, but something that anybody could encounter in their own life. The mystery is well thought out and keeps you guessing clear to the end.
Ashley and Patty have been saving their money to expand the business to include a food truck. In the mean time, new trucks have skyrocketed in price. Solution? A used truck. But of course that leads to a body! And what is up with the men in their lives? The are both acting weird. Loved the painting of the food truck! This is such a fun, yummy, series!
I received an ARC. This is my honest review
