Kat De Luca loves her family, and working in their bakery, but wants something more, something different. Sebastian Walker, local Cardiologist, grew up in the ultimate dysfunctional family. He can’t imagine why Kat wants to change anything about her life. Can she make him understand? Will he accept what she wants? Will their sizzling attraction be enough to overcome their differences?
I did not realize this was part of a series (book 5 at that) until after I read it. I don’t feel like you need to read them in order as I had no problems following this. I will go back and read the others at some point. Sebastian is a cardiologist who stops at a bakery to take baked goods to a work meeting. Kat De Luca works in the bakery and opened up a little early for this customer, even though she normally does not do this. She feels an instant attraction and draw to this man, and he feels the same thing. Unbeknownst to them at their meeting, Kat’s best friend had been trying to set them up on a blind date for months. This is a story of opposites attract. Kat grew up in a loving, close knit Italian family and is working in the family business. Sebastian had parents who divorced and then kept making bad decisions, so he had sworn off love. Kat’s dad has a heart attack when Sebastian was in the bakery, so he quickly goes to work with CPR. This jump starts the relationship. Kat has what Sebastian always wanted, a loving family full of traditions, but Kat yearns to bake more than the tried and true Italian specialty’s De Luca’s is known for. She wants to put to use her Parisian training. Will they end up together? Can they put their differences aside and find happiness together? Read it to find out!
I have read every book in the Windsor Falls Series and must say I can’t get enough! I’ve been hooked since Coming Home! Kat and Sebastian were wow! That’s the only word I can think to describe their characters. Such an amazing story I can’t wait to see what more Kimberley comes out with!
Finding Kat follows the the characters from Windsor Falls. This book mainly follows Kat De Lucas, Katie’s best friend and Sebastian, a cardiac dr and Flynn’s best friend.
The story follows Kat and her turbulent relationship with her father Kat works in the family bakery following traditional family recipes but wanting to experiment with her own ideas, ideas her father is not happy about. During the stress of arguing about the bakery her father suffers a heart attack and Kat is plagued with guilt over feeling responsible for his health vs trying to fulfil her dreams. Queue in more drama when she meets Sebastian, who has sworn off long term relationships after watching his parents destroy each other but wants to date Kat.
The story follows the emotional rollercoaster that Kat is going through, and continues Katie and Flynn’s story with their up coming wedding.
Kat DeLuca has grown up in Windsor Falls. Besides going to Paris to learn French cuisine, she has remained in Windsor Falls. She works the family business, a very Italian bakery, baking the same thing each day. It makes her dad happy, but she wants more. Then in the early morning hours, a customer shows up early wanting to buy some baked goods. Enter Sebastian Walker, who unbeknownst to Kat is her friend Flynn’s best friend. When her dad suffers a heart attack in the bakery, handsome Dr. Walker is there to help. What Kat doesn’t realize is Dr. Walker is not only helping her dad get better, but also that not every guy is Mr. Wrong. But Dr. Walker has his own baggage with dating and love. He doesn’t believe in love, all thanks to his dysfunctional family. A friendship begins and soon Sebastian is close to breaking down his walls and taking a chance with Kat. But there is a problem, he does not understand her relationship with her father and her need to become something more than baking the same thing every day. This is the one thing Kat can’t let go.
I have loved the Windsor Falls series so this book was a no brainer to read. Kimberley O’Malley has a way of bringing her characters to life and creating stories that draw you in and have you cheering for a HEA. Kat and Sebastian’s story is just another fine example of Ms. O’Malleys talent. I will be sad when this series ends. Thank you Kimberley O’Malley for another chapter of the love fest in Windsor Falls.
Kat De Luca has grown up working in her family’s bakery and she loves it but she also wants to spread her wings and bring new ideas and recipes into the bakery. Unfortunately her father is extremely opposed to the idea and Kat is torn between following her own dreams and doing what is expected of her.
Sebastian Walker is a cardiologist who works with his best friend, Flynn, who is engaged to Kat’s best friend Katie. Sebastian grew up id a dysfunctional family with is parents each having several marriages and it taught Sebastian not to believe in love and he wishes he had a sibling.
As Sebastian and Kat grow closer the differences in how they grew up creates tension between them and Sebastian is confused on why Kat wants to follow her own dreams instead of following her father’s dreams. Can Sebastian understand where Kat is coming from before it’s too late?
This is another good book in the series and it looks at two different perspectives on family and marriage.
I liked Kat and I really felt bad that she was struggling so much with her dad. I was surprised he was so against her trying new things as she had gone to school in Paris and now all of her training was almost useless. She had such a talent for creating new things and her dad wanted to stick to what they had always done. Kat didn’t want to hurt her dad but she needed to follow her own dreams and she was so torn. I was so happy for Kat when things happened between her and Sylvia and I hoped this was the start of good things!
Sebastian was such a smart man yet he watched his parents marry so many times that he no longer believed in marriage, yet he believed in family. He was a very dedicated doctor and when Kat’s dad had a heart attack he was right there to help him and save his life.
There was an obvious chemistry between Kat and Sebastian but Kat didn’t want a relationship with Sebastian while he was her dad’s doctor. Yet due to their respective friendships with Katie and Flynn things began to get heated between Kat and Sebastian and things progressed past a friendship level.
My heart broke for Kat when she returned from being away with Katie, Sebastian and Flynn. I knew why she had kept things to herself and I wasn’t surprised that there was a blow up but I was shocked at how big it really was. The things her dad said to her blew my mind and I was mad at Sebastian after for the things that he said to Kat.
I loved the scene where Kat went back to the bakery and caught her family!! Such an awesome scene and it really made them understand her more.
The end was great and I am glad Sebastian realized the error of his ways!!
Omg!!! I love family drama in a book. Ekaterina aka Kat is a young single baker that helps run the family business. The bakery is all she’s known but always wanted more and never knowing how to get more. She and her best friends are always together and when Katie met Flynn and planning a wedding Kat has heard it all and about Flynn’s best friend that Flynn and Katie have been trying to get to meet but something comes up. Sebastian is Flynn’s best friend and hasn’t had the best role models for happily ever after and marriage. So he isn’t into one person, but when he runs into her bakery while closed and asking for help since he needs pastries for work. Sparks fly but unbeknownst to them these two were destined to meet. As the story goes on it gets more entangled and feelings develop them never been like before. Great book!!!
