Brooke and Tyler were young and a bit immature. They showed their competitive nature during trivia night at the local brewery, which was pretty funny but they also descended to petty mean levels. I was surprised she wanted to help him out sprucing up his rental property so he could get renters. She was good at it, but it was his business. Their bickering turns to passion, but they hurt each other several times. I haven’t read any of the other books in this series, but I got the impression that Brooke wasn’t always a nice person. She put up walls and acted in off putting ways to keep people out and so she wouldn’t get hurt. When she finally gets the chance to realize one of her dreams after she helped Tyler, he makes her feel like it’s insignificant and she should cast it aside for the sake of their relationship. This was a steamy enemies to lovers romance with plenty of funny and rocky moments.
This book joins two series together, it is book eight in A Red Maple Falls Novel series and the second book in the Marshall Family series a well written story that held my interest until the end. I enjoyed seeing Brooke Marshall and Tyler Carrington’s story come together. I want to read more in this series. This is book eight in A Red Maple Falls series and it is Brooke and Tyler’s story. Even though Brooke and Tyler are from different backgrounds and different in there own way when you go deep enough they both have the same values. I loved how they were so competitive and get there chemistry and connection between them was so strong even though trust was a bit issue and hard for them and they both will have to overcome a lot to get what they want and deserve in the end. I love this book and series so much and I definitely recommend you read this book and others by Theresa Paolo as she is a brilliant author and writer and her books are definitely worth reading.

It was fun watching Brooke and Tyler go from being competitive friends to lovers. Brooke finds it difficult to trust and tries to keep everyone at bay. She is loud and opinionated but she has a big heart. Tyler is trying to live his life on his own terms, but his love for Brooke Is inevitable. I enjoyed this book and would recommend it.
