A WOMAN ON A QUEST TO SAVE HER CLAN Moira Darroch is struggling to keep her clan together after her brother’s death–or murder. Her uncle Hamish Pitcairn is looking to usurp her clan and is doing his worst to undermine the Darroch’s balance. Alone, Moira is barely managing to keep it all together. She needs a powerful match to neutralise Hamish’s ambitions. The only man she can think of is … of is Lachlan McKendrick. But how do you persuade an inveterate bachelor to marry you? By abducting him, of course! Even if marrying a womanizer is the dumbest mistake on Earth, she cannot deny that she’s wanted him for years.
A LAIRD SET ON KEEPING HIS FREEDOM
Lachlan, from the mighty McKendrick clan, has no worries. A third son, he lives his life as he pleases. And women please him. A lot! When the infernal Darroch abducts him, he’s livid. But, as he involves himself in her clan’s predicaments, he experiences a sense of purpose he has never felt before. Yet the fierce lass also sets fire to his blood like no other. Working by her side is threatening to take him out of control–problem being–he wants to throw control to the Highland’s winds, or throw the impossible lass on the nearest bed!
AND A PASSION THAT THREATENS TO BURST LIKE TINDER ON GUNPOWDER

The Lass Abducted the Laird by Lisa Torquay is the 4th book in the Explosive Highlanders series. Explosive is exactly how I would describe this story. It is wonderfully written and charged with emotion. Everything that happens is described in such perfect detail that it was like I was right there, experiencing it first hand! The heat level in this book is hot! Lachlan and Moira have a completely combustible connection. I loved their characters, Moira was a charming character, and I liked her immediately. She’s strong and determined and doesn’t give her trust easily. Lachlan is alluring, intelligent and fiercely protective of Moira. Even though he is/was a carefree flirt, he is also a no nonsense kind of guy. When Moira has doubts, he immediately gets to the bottom of it, before it festers and he allows no room for misunderstandings. A remarkable and memorable hero for sure. I could not put this book down!! I highly recommend this story/series!
The Lass Abducted The Laird is a fantastic Highlander romance by Lisa Torquay. Ms. Torquay has once again impressed me with her writing skills. She has delivered a well-written book and loaded it with outstanding characters. Moira is certain her uncle poisoned her brother in order to take over their clan. Lachlan is a third son from a powerful neighboring clan. Moira kidnaps Lachlan to marry her in an attempt to ward off her uncle. Moira and Lachlan’s story is loaded with drama, humor, sizzle, action and suspense. I loved this book from page one until the end and look forward to reading more from Lisa Torquay in the future. The Lass Abducted The Laird is book 4 of the Explosive Highlanders Series but can easily be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I found this book to be a very enjoyable read with the good storyline and well rounded characters that kept me turning the pages until the end!
Highly recommended!
Can you imagine kidnapping or rather abducting one of the most sexy and gorgeous Lairds just so that you can marry him and then you decide not to even though you are head over heels in love with the man? Hey! So I wouldn’t mind one of those for myself, OK!
Anyway, back to my review – this is a very wholesome and well written story with a lot of heated moments and a whole lot of page-turnng story. The characters are all great and mesh together very nicely too.
All in all a very enjoyable story which I totally devoured and I am definitely recommending it!
I read an Advance Reader Copy of this book and my review above is given voluntarily and it unbiased.
Moira Darroch is left with defending her clan after her brother’s death. With her scheming uncle thru marriage tries to take her clan by what whatever way possible. So her solution is marriage even if it means by kidnapping her ideal husband. Who beat for the job then Lachlan McKendrick. Third son handsome but a rogue in everyway.
Lachlan is third son of the laird of McKendrick clan known for his way with the masses is forced by Moira Darroch to go to her clan and demand marriage of him . He decides a engagement by appearances to ward off her uncle. As always things go from head to worse and they wed. Fighting her uncle seems to make matter worst and even so his wife assumed he is like all men unfaithful . Will she ever see what in front of her eyes? Will they come together as one for the clan and defeat her uncle or will they both walk away from love?
I enjoyed this book , characters come to life for me and I look forward to more from this author
Moira was a very independent woman and did all she could to save her clan. Her loyalty to clan lead her to Lachlan and his abduction. Lachlan’s freedom was at risk, but his protectiveness kicked in. Together, these two found out that plans did not always turn out their way. The danger mixed with the romance made this a good read. I recommend this story.
I received a copy of this story as a gift, and this is my unsolicited review.
Can I just say, first and foremost, how much I LOVE ME SOME HIGHLANDER LOVE!!!!!!!!! Yeah? Okay. Next 🙂
Lachlan. Is. Swoon.
Moira. Is. A. Badass.
It’s impossible to capture everything this book brings to the reader, but I’m sure as hell going to try!!! So, full disclosure, I was in Scotland earlier this year. In the Highlands. Everywhere. And man, when I was reading this book it was like I was back there! The descriptions, the setting, the BANTER between the two characters!!!! I loved every minute of it.
As I said before, Lachlan is total man candy. I mean, swoon! And the sizzle between him and Moira, holy crap! It was a hot read, I loved EVERRRRRRRRRRRRRY second of it.
I loved Moira’s fire and her independence. Even when her body gives in to Lachlan, she still remains her own woman, and that’s truly something to be applauded!!! LOVED her to bits!
There’s adventure, there’s love, there’s hotheaded (and plain hot) characters, I mean, what more can you want??
I curled up with this book and a warm blanket, and I was gone to the Highlands 🙂 Grab it. Read it. It’s a wonderful book and the series is just as great!!!
I love Moira Darroch. She is smart, caring, loves stray animals, and trying to keep her clan together. Lachlan McKendrick is the spare heir. He has been drifting through life with no purpose. He is loyal and not afraid of hard work. In a moment of insanity, Moira does the unthinkable. As the title states, she abducts Lachlan. From that point on, he finds he is not upset. He is good with his hands and fixing things. He has purpose. He is also wickedly crazy about Moira. The two of them will singe you and also have you laughing. But the lass is stubborn and set in her ways. It takes an almost tragedy to wake her up. I loved catching up with Lachlan’s siblings and their wives.
When Moira kidnaps the man who she feels can help save her clan from a deadly takeover, she never thought that Lachlan would change his ways and be a devoted man. But when sparks fly their agreement to be betrothed for the sake of the clan suddenly changes. Will their relationship become more than just an agreement on paper? Or will Lachlan get more than he bargained for? With great characters and an enjoyable storyline this was a great read. This was my first by this author but it will not be my last.
4.5 Stars

A well written novel with strong characters & a well paced plot. Moira & Lachlan are perfect for each other in every way but it takes them a while to fully admit how they feel. Moira is admirable & has taken so much on her slight shoulders, Lachlan with his huge stature & coffee eyes is everything you want in a hero & when he falls, like his brothers, he falls hard. The villain is vile & after what happened in the small barn I was out for blood & truly believe he would have swung for all his heinous crimes. The attraction & passion between Lachlan & Moira is so hot I’m surprised my kindle didn’t combust but he’s also protective & together they form a true partnership
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
